I bought one (new) in October 1980 (in South Africa) and had it for 20 years. Sold it back to the same dealer in late-2001, when we moved from SA to the UK. Beautiful bike... I've missed it terribly - and watch your video with supreme envy! Hope to get another one soon - but not many around in top condition.
Wow, nice bike! it looks pristine and runs perfect. Kudos for preserving/restoring the originality. not many bikes like these around anymore, most have been hacked up to become cafe- & ratbikes because of their longevity...
in fairness… a lot of GS(s) are now in pretty rough shape and those that are converted to brats and cafes are at least still being ridden and are still on the road.
Very nice bike in top condition. I bought my new GS 850 in 1981 and still own it. Very good condition after 42 years.
