i love how even with the tomato frog you can see them processing what theyre hearing by the fact their throat pouch slows down a bit. it's like the equivalent of seeing the steam coming out of their ears.
My theory is that an animal has to be born and raised with the language to understand it and respond to it...almost like if a human was raised without language would it understand it and know how to talk? probably not. That's my theory, a frog raised in captivity may not be the same as wild frogs... My other theory is the frog recordings just aren't very realistic sounding to a frog unless they're recorded in good quality from nature
