Cracking job Nathan and a thank for another top video. No one looking at your T5 would ever believe it has done 280000+ miles. You've performed wonders and hats off to you mate 👌👍.
My T5 came on old kuhmo and hankooks, plenty of road noise and pulled over the road... t5s are tyre sensitive... im cheap, i run standard steels, and eBay is always flooded with brand new steels with new tyres from all the new vans getting alloys.. first set with 4 new hankooks was £100, last set was £240 delivered with bridgestones on brand new rims.. fit more alloys i say, more deals for me.. 😎😎 With my matching new tyres, its always runs straight and true..
Well done Nathan . Your nearly the then bud with all the stuff we don’t like paying for , your be back on the mods we don’t mind paint for soon , the nice bits , no oily bits involved . Be glad when I get to that stage , keeps it up bud ❤
Love your videos and the enthusiasm. You have helped me do work on my T5 as a basic diy'er, so thank you! Where do you recommend for the tracking? I'm in Thanet area 🤙🤙
Hi Nathan, Excellent channel. I have a 2008 1.9 T5. Converted it 13 years ago and still working on it as it's showing some rust round the edges. Your videos are giving me the inspiration to keep at it. Btw, what's your take on supermarket diesel especially from the big M one? Some U-tubers are telling some horror stories....e,g. Emergency Redex transfusions! JW
Really good video, had to replace both my front hubs as rotted together to fit a vanslam kit ,had new bearings fitted 😊,anyway keep it up ,mines blown main fuel rail urgh.
I'll do the rears on mine soon. I'll get the tool though, I don't have any friends with massive press nearby, and apparently the part of the tool that gets between the bearing and the mount surface is needed anyway. I have a CR 2.0 TDI and it does not have a back silencer and the exhaust system is stock, it only has the middle box. Even if I remove the middle one, the exhaust sounds the same. Maybe the turbo and the DPF in mine is enough to make it very quiet.
Great video Nathan, have you got a close up pic of the modified M10 bolt that you use to split the hub from the shock please, I’ve bought the ‘proper’ ones on the 1/2 drive socket and they are rubbish, thanks
Great job Nath. You do make it look easy and I know, it's not doing those bearings.... mint using the press... the special tool works without taking everything apart. I didn't have a press, so I bought the tool.... won't need it for another 100,0000+ miles though😂 looking forward to the worst mod
Hey David thank you mate 👍 anything is easy once you’ve done it a few times, like I mention in the video if someone is tackling it for the first time there’s won’t come apart as easy as mine but it’s not to difficult 👍. I did look at the tools on eBay but I’ve always used a press so just went with it. Thanks bud
Nath great work!! My ball joints are knocking have you changed yours? What make have you fitted please. Interesting to see and hear the exhaust next time round.
Hi bud thank you appreciate that 👍 I havnt replaced mine yet they are still tight. I have seen a lot of people use MAHLE balljoints and say they are good. I’ve seen them on eBay 👍
Quality video how to do it properly. I bought the tool got out the bearing out and replaced, knackered the tool and sent it back for a full refund. What sort of press would us diyers need to avoid the poor quality tool. I think your mates are a bit better geared up than mine 😂😂
Great video, I was waiting for you to spot the dust shield, we’ve all been there 😂
