awesome review! a lot of other reviewers only highlighted the positives of the car, but you guys did a fantastic job of addressing the major issue with the car, the cheap interior. keep it up!
I really do admire MINI, but man I'm amazed and shocked about the interior quality issues you guys pointed out. And as a BMW 3er owner, I agree that run-flats are annoying. I think it's great for daily drivers and practicality, but eventually I plan on getting rid of them.
I was thinking on buying this car for my wife as a family car... but now I'm thinking more a 3 series. I would say like a VW Golf is almost the same car, but wife hates vw... so... good review, now the idea of getting one has decreased by a lot...
It's so easy for people who love cars to forget that they/we are a minority. BMW know that many people who buy this car will never notice how flimsy the headliner is or even how noisy the tyres are. I think the majority of the people who buy this car will buy it for the name (Mini) and the way it looks on the outside.
what is this song i love it!? i love mini's in fact i have one but for me the new cars dont cut the mustard unless they are the cooper works. they are saving money.. but the design is epic
It should be noted that this is a "S" model. They cost a lot more. The fact that it is a small suv for that price is a great thing. Its the Fiat Panda for america!
Haha good review. I agree, $37,000?!?!?!??? What a joke. I thought the mini was affordable. This is where German and British cars fail--price an value. A Honda for $20,000 is better quality.
in britain we dont get alot of snow. but i use my cars standard alloy wheels fitted with snow tyres and have my lighter bigger alloys with summer performance tyres. they take a matter of minutes to change over and because my clio sport is front wheel drive it really does grip well in the snow. plus when i inevitably curb the wheels because i cant see the curbs or just slide into them, i dont care because there just the bog standard rims. in conclusion, get a good set of snow tyres! not a mini
thats surprising. more money, but poorer materials than the regular cooper? weird... as a concept i do like the countryman, but it's just a bit too overpriced to make any sense. but then mini has always been offering the base model at decent price but quickly jacking up the price w/ options...
You've had the car for 4 days, and this is all you came up with? If there was a script, it should have been used on FLD Thursday. That way I wouldn't have wasted 6 minutes.
true, for 37g's i can get a sti or many other fun to drive cars. the golf gti im sure can accomplish the fun and practicality of it how about wrx?! the interior might not be elegant or fancy but its still functional, simple and acceptable. theres so many other small, fun to drive, awd cars. unless you're a hardcore mini fan, then 37,000 for an upsized mini cooper with awd is not acceptable
Not honestly the best choice of a car to review. Like come on what did you expect from it? Besides I'd like to hear more from JF's reasonings why it isn't hideous price.
For 37,000 dollars, you have to pass on a Camaro 2SS, Mustang GT Premium, Challenger RT, Impreza WRX, Evo X, etc. I just can't find the appeal to spend THAT much money on a Mini which is THAT ugly.
So the tires suck, the interior sucks, it's not actually British, and it's too expensive...that's all you got?? I would say this wasn't a very good review overall, but then you include bacon, so that automatically makes it an awesome review!
The Countryman is an abomination, It looks like a turd, is overpriced, and is no longer "Mini" and it only seats 4, so for your extra size you get nothing. ps. If anyone would say to me what JF said in the beginning of this episode, while in the middle of the woods. I would jump in the car and take off!
awesome review! a lot of other reviewers only highlighted the positives of the car, but you guys did a fantastic job of addressing the major issue with the car, the cheap interior. keep it up!
Probably the best FLD review :D Keep up the good work!
I love Richard at the end "Its still shit" haha
like the presentation. kept me watching!
You still need snow tires in the winter. It's all about the composition of the rubber.
I really do admire MINI, but man I'm amazed and shocked about the interior quality issues you guys pointed out. And as a BMW 3er owner, I agree that run-flats are annoying. I think it's great for daily drivers and practicality, but eventually I plan on getting rid of them.
"Cooking with JF"...It needs to be made :D
$37,000 is ONLY FOR "FULLY LOADED!" BASE IS $20,000! GOSH!
jf: i want to take you in little surprise trip somewhere.
Richard: ... right(awkward)
we're cook today, with this.... (Vin Diesel comes in and screams) "NOS!"
The countryman is big enough to carry a tent for you guys to reenact stuff from Broke back mountain >:)
Richard was great at the end! haha
Great episode guys.
2:39 behind JF's head I see the surprise!
pause at 0.33 ....richard p is thinking, oh shit a gay bar....and jf is thinking he will never guess im taking him to a gay bar
This was a really good video

who is the creeper in the back?
and the picnic was too top gear-ish for FLD
look out, there's a guy hiding in the backseat.
you get a well equipped BMW 3 series for that money in Europe (4 cylinder one though).
look at the guy having a look at the camera behind JF at 2:39
Conclusion: It is like Jersy shore...
There is someone in a orange hat creeping in the back.
what is this song i love it!? i love mini's in fact i have one but for me the new cars dont cut the mustard unless they are the cooper works. they are saving money.. but the design is epic

The problem with minis/bimmers/etc aren't the cars themselves, it's what you're getting for the money. Like the 1M, ugh.
Hah, the guy in the back is creepy when he comes peeking :P
4wd will help you to start on snow but not stop, so my opinion all season tires are the worst. You have to have snow tires
I wish you didn't bleep the curses at the end though!
I wonder when BMW is going to admit that they made a mistake and go back to normal tyres.
i kind of wanted one of these, but i don't think i can afford to shell out that much cash... i was thinking under 30k
this was a review of run-flats
@TVRFan11 Genius. Burning of any open flame in a State or national forest is HIGHLY illegal. It wasn't a campground. Think before you post.
Whos the dude lurking in the back seat
is countryman all wheel drive
You know, if you used the collatz conjecture, you would all be first...
@itsTiLER That bacon was a little too Epic Meal Time-ish for anyone.
You guys r the best never hate on chevy though
@TunerES yup just like the kind of girls we like the most
lol there is a dude at the back seat with hat on, jf is trying to cover that though?
2:37 Is that Ian?
Great review guys, I'm just worried Mini USA won't like it :)
wait did he actualllyy buy that
Tell orange hat creeper to stop creepin!
@leedstao or just the full out sti
theres some dude with a cap in the backseat
MORE FLDETOURS RE CONTINUE IT
Haha good review. I agree, $37,000?!?!?!??? What a joke. I thought the mini was affordable. This is where German and British cars fail--price an value. A Honda for $20,000 is better quality.

Serial killer in the back at 2:40 !!!
@poopeater14 Because an Impreza or a Lancer wouldn't be as practical as the Countryman. Oh wait, they are.
thats surprising. more money, but poorer materials than the regular cooper? weird... as a concept i do like the countryman, but it's just a bit too overpriced to make any sense. but then mini has always been offering the base model at decent price but quickly jacking up the price w/ options...

@ludicer A golf is a completely different class of car... No one is cross shopping this with a Golf.
whats the point of this car?
LOL! who's that at 2:37?
this car is too expensive for what it is, 37 grand could get you a real car with equal space or even something like an explorer with more features
For 37k, better off with a Subaru WRX 5door, with extra money spend on fuel.
Seriously, those tires need to go; so much noise its ridiculous!
Not honestly the best choice of a car to review. Like come on what did you expect from it? Besides I'd like to hear more from JF's reasonings why it isn't hideous price.

The total of your 2 personalities is substantially less than 1.
yeah, it's too pricey... for that... 32K otd at most. The bacon seen, funny.
wow for 37,000 i can buy an s430 4matic to drive on the road and a 2003 range rover to go off road
JF really needs to come out of his geek closet.
@JDisturbed those are all sports cars...this is not
BROMANCE
for that money I rather get a fully loaded VW GTI
my two friends u guys can not cook damnnn
Way too expensive for what it is.
So the tires suck, the interior sucks, it's not actually British, and it's too expensive...that's all you got??
I would say this wasn't a very good review overall, but then you include bacon, so that automatically makes it an awesome review!
That thing is at least 10k overpriced
The Countryman is an abomination, It looks like a turd, is overpriced, and is no longer "Mini" and it only seats 4, so for your extra size you get nothing.
ps. If anyone would say to me what JF said in the beginning of this episode, while in the middle of the woods. I would jump in the car and take off!
i could get a h3 for the less
third
@TunerES FAIL!
Conclusion: Its shit.
Conclusions: overpriced crap car with personality disorder
