Whelen Five Year Warranty on the Complete CenCom System
replying after 8 years, legend.
Is there a way to dim the backlight buttons on the control head? They are really bright at night.
+James Fischetti You can adjust the Backlight brightness. When you're in the Cencom Programmer, right click on the button(s). You'll then see "back-light intensity".
is there anyway to black out the control head without reprogramming? the display is very bright (almost too) bright at night.
The back lighting can be adjusted in the programming software. This is the only way to do it unfortunately.
Do you sell spare parts? If something goes missing? As in the the position rocker switch?
How is the Break Light Disable function work? Is their a system for it?
The Whelen Cencoms do not offer a "Black-out" function for disabling the rear tail/brake lights. Some manufactures offer an add-on Module for "Black-out", however, most of the new 2014/15 Vehicles do not allow for deactivated brake/tail lights.
SIRENNET hi .can you help me with cc gold flash button.how to get same output as show on the keypad controller when it push
thanks
Chris.. help me out please!
My Cencom Sapphire has limited tones. I cannot find the international tones. Is that specific to their overseas models, if they made something like that?
I am using the handheld controller by the way.
We can help :)
You'll first need to download Whelen Command. Here is a link: www.whelen.com/software-downloads/
Once you have this loaded, please give us a call and ask for Technical Services. We can then go over details with you and explain how to change Tones. (888) 959-0911 is our main phone.
Y'all @@SIRENNET are the true MVP's.
🙏🏼
@@floresdanieljohn Thank you very much! 😁 You're too kind😉
ok so say you have hidaway lights an ion tag mount lights an you put them on steady burn an hook them up to this sapphire can you programm the sapphire to flash them in anyway or in any pattern you want
CenCom Sapphire's don't allow for Light-head Flash Pattern programming. For that you'd need to use Whelen's CarBide or CORE Controller.
Can you guys show or explain how to wire additional lights to the cencom, I have a Liberty II WC and wiring was super simple, but I am struggling to figure out how to wire a fusion 600 light stick, 2 mpower fascia lights, and soundoff ultralite stick. Once they are wired how do I program them in the software for example when I press my flood light switch, the Liberty II goes into flood mode, I want my 600 series fusion light stick to go into flood mode as well. Thanks for the help!
It'd be a lot of typing to explain how it's done :) If you haven't already, we'd suggest getting in touch with Whelen's Technical Service department & asking for help with software. They can be reach at (860) 526-9504.
What USB data cable to I use from my laptop to the control box to download my lightbar patterns and such?
With a CenCom Sapphire you'll want to use a USB 2.0 Printer Type Cable - A-Male to B-Male.
How do you get the PA to work I have the unit powered up and tones all work but no sound when I push the PTT button on mic.
Hi Kyle. Have you tried adjusting the PA volume? It might be turned all the way down.
For volume adjusting you'll want to locate the PA adjustment potentiometer on the right side of the
CenCom module. Using a small, flat-blade screwdriver, set the
potentiometer to its middle position. With the CenCom system on,
activate the PTT (Push To Talk) feature on the optional microphone.
Adjust the potentiometer until a satisfactory PA volume level is achieved
using a normal speaking voice.
If this doesn't yield any results please let us know.
How can LED headlights wig-wag? Our emergencyehicle's LED headlights have a cooling fan which operates when the LED is turned on. The fan is connected to the LED wire internally, not through a wire from the plug.
Inrush currento theadlight fan may damage it from being turned ON and OFF constantly.
Any recommendations?
Thank you.
Are they a factory/OEM headlight or do they have after-market LED bulbs?
@@SIRENNET Thank you. 2016 Letsuck RX350 LED headlights. Cannot replace justhe LED. Must replace the whole *$2081.66* headlight if the LED fails.
No access. Would have to cut into theadlight fixture.
(Apparently one LED. For high beam, something which blocks part of the LED's light is moved out of the beam.)
Wilhave to mount white LED lights behind the grill.
@@robertgift Definitely stay away from trying to do anything with the headlights. Trying to wire in an LED flasher will just cause issues. For the grille Whelen ION's or Micron's would look great! They should fit in nicely ;)
@@SIRENNET Thank you. Yes,hall not mess witheadlights.
Siren wattage? This unit hasame siren output wires for one or two speakers. Other sirens have 100 watt and 200 watt connections. Thank you.
It operates one or two 100watt speakers. As far as the harness goes, there are two wires, if you're using two speakers, they'll both splice together.
@@SIRENNET Thank you. How does the same output do 100 or 200 watts?
Normally *[Com] [[100]]* [200] for one 100-Watt driver. Connect *[Com]* [100] *[[200]]* for two speakers.
Or is this notruly 200 Watts because it may burn out a single 100-Watt driver?
@@robertgiftWith 2-speakers it's putting out 200watts. The internals won't harm a single speaker. It's very common place to use a single 100watt speaker with these.
@@SIRENNET Thank you.
With my engineering background, I'd like to khow a supposed 200-Watt output does not burn out a 100-Watt driver.
Every electronic siren I havever connected had 100 and 200 Wattaps.
Our spare Whelen siren has *[com] [100] [200]* terminals.
(Does Whelen state anywhere thathis unit is 200-Watts? If not, I suspect it is not really 200 Watts.)
Is there a way to tone down the siren and lights
An inline resistor can be used to lower the siren tone output. You can't make any changes to the intensity of lighting unless it has a low-power mode / trigger wire. Reducing voltage won't reduce output.
This can control a Federal Signal Integrity lightbar??
Definitely :)
Will Feniex Lighting work with the CenCom.
It will.
Is the cencom programing possible with a macbook
+Eddie CALI If you have the application on your Macbook to run a Windows program, then yes you sure can.
Would it be possible to do a video to show how to hard wire a set of sho-me slim lights to a single flipswitch? I have a set of them but for the life of me I have no clue how to set them up. And hardworking anything is all Greek to me. I'd also like to buy a set of miro then strob lights and some white strobes for the blinkers but I never did cause I have no clue how to hard wire anything.
Brandon Hess Hi Brandon... What is the Part Number of the Able2 Lights that you have? We'll see if we have any on-hand that we can use to assist you.
their 11.8600p sho-me slim lights.
+Brandon Hess Thank You for the Part Number. We'll see what we can put together.
K thanks. Feel free to email me when you get the video done. Bhess199615@gmail.com
What's the radio rebroadcast so-posed todo? I've heard of it.
Brandon Hess Radio rebroadcast allows the in-Vehicle Radios to broadcast through the Siren Speaker(s).
oh ok thanks
This shit is too confusing.
I'll just stick my Feniex 4200 mini.
Simple but effective
