@@alexmashkin863 i mean technically any symmetric pull that gets you on top is a muscle up, kipping or not. Magnus' was just a much cleaner/stricter version but Larry's was definitely valid

It does not release its full potential. In training with these guys, he lifted the same weight and did the same number of reps, and in some cases even exceeded them.
100% man I used to weigh 170lbs and do V7. I start gaining weight cause full time office job and gained 20lbs and I had hard time with V6. Now I'm 210lbs. Still the same strength but can barely do a V4.
Magnus was able to control his from the top, on the first try too. It looked like Larry had to get the right tension to do it on his third attempt. Magnus’ was definitely better
it definitely is impressive but magnus is a pro climber not calisthenics athlete. That being said he can do one arm muscle ups so he is pretty crazy as well.

preventing weight gain when gaining strength is as much an advantage in calisthenics as in climbing, don't know why you're bringing this up
