Well but there’s a downside, for to need more storage on psvita with a sd card, u need an adapter, for to have like 64gb of storage. And there’s a lot of bugs and errors on psvita too. (And some errors that kinda “bricks” ur psvita, that’s what happened to me, and lost a lot of save files that I couldn’t recover)
Yeah, but a new 3ds can also play 3ds, ds, gba, gbc, gb, nes, snes, and even some n64 as well, and virtual boy games in 3d, and 3ds games in 3d, so I wouldn’t consider getting a vita over a new 3ds unless the price was significantly lower.
yeah I dont understand all this hype over the Vita lately. for a 2024 device its terrible at emulation, it has a weak first party game library and whatever homebrew stuff you find on there is actually just old PSP brew.
I own a ps Vita and totally disagree with you. Playing ps one games on Vita is nightmare because it doesn't have triggers and simulating it with back touch zones is the worst gaming experience I've ever had. Playing N64 games with Vita interface is something like trying to discover the America again and painful. There are many N64 games really not that playable as well and emulation interface is very tiring. This is my own opinion but I think the game library of 3ds and even ds is something Vita PSP libraries cannot compete at all.
I have a fully pimped out 3ds with ds games, gba games, doom ports, fnaf ports, gta 3 homebrew port, mario 64 3d and a lot more. Id pick the 3ds anyday because i feel the ds and 3ds library together is the best handheld library there ever was
I have 3ds games, ds games, nes games, snes games, sega genesis games, ps1 games, n64 games, game boy games, gameboy color games, gameboy advanced games, gamegear games, SNK Neo geo games, doom 1 and 2, mario 64 port, sonic mania port, and lastly fnaf port. my 3ds is officially decked out with 300 max titles and i am proud
Realistically in terms of emulator support these two are nearly equivalent, with Vita obviously having the slight edge in overall power. But ultimately it comes down to whether or not you value the PSP/Vita libraries or the DS/3DS libraries to decide which one you like better.
And also it has a bigger and better screen cause it's less pixelated so higher ppi density meaning clearer view... It's also more comfortable to hold ...
Even DS games, I’m not sure how but I definitely know it’s possible. At the very least, bare minimum, you could scrap the entire ps vita operating system and replace it with a 3DS Operating System
Missed my opportunity to get a vita cheap and went with a new 3ds xl. But I have to say I don't regret my decision. The original ds library alone has banger after banger, and being able to play those games with the intended system will always trump emulators. Also, the 3ds has a real solid library, especially if you're a jrpg/srpg fan. That being said, if i ever get the opportunity, I am for sure going to get a vita just for the playstation library.
They're both required for me. The vita is awesome, but so is the 3ds. The 3ds and ds libraries alone require me to get the 3ds. I'll use my vita for most other things, but the 3ds and ds libraries are both huge and they're both loaded with great games
A modded 3ds can play 3ds, ds, gba, gbc, snes, nes, and vb games. On top of that, people have made reverse engineered ports of many games like COD zombies, Super mario 64, and minecraft.
Literally had a Vita for a few months and the traded it for a Switch, while owning the 3DS for over a decade and a PSP for quite awhile. The propietary software for Vita is abysmal for the most part. It's mainly worth for the PSP/PS content alone so, you might as well simply own one. Also. The memory format is a huge letdown for any Sony portable device. Just throwing that out.
I have both. The PS Vita is very nice to play retro games with Retroarch, it has some cool games and the retrocompatibility with PSP is very nice, but when comparing the Vita library with the 3DS library, the 3DS wins hands down, and the 3D effect is really cool with some games.
but I also want to play 3DS and DS games. If I want to play PS or N64 games, I'd rather play them on my computer on a big screen. I think the answer is both. They each carved out their niche and happen to overlap in the Venn Diagram of their capabilities. Which one you get depends on whether you want DS and 3DS or everything else.
VIRTUAL CONSOLE. “The vita is better cause you can play old games other than the 3DS and DS games” I AM ABOUT TO EXPLODE. HOW CAN SOMEONE BE SO STUPID???
I'm thinking of getting a vita and modding it, because even though I have a 3ds; I can't mod it because I only have a iphone se 2nd gen and a kindle fire HD 10+. Neither one of them can be used to transfer files to the 3ds via SD card.
I think you're not going to be able to mod the Vita either, pretty sure both require at least a bit of Windows PC at points to get things working. Plus you really do want one on hand so as to deal with anything else other than most basic modding steps which will crop up as you play around with either system
Ds can do many of the same features modded both are very good only thing I would say you can play more triple A games on the vita but still the 3DS can be very impressive
Well you say a lot of that as if it’s not possible on the 3ds aside (although I was told there is an emulator currently made) the 3ds can play most of the things you said including ps1. Also in my opinion 3ds games are a lot more fun to play on a handheld while a lot of the best vita games are better played on console (imo), are ported from console, or are just laggy. Plus with the 3ds you get Wii I connectivity, even if it is light. The only reason I could actually see someone going for a modded vita over a 3ds is either PlayStation bias or because the servers are still officially up though they might as well be dead as pretendo has way more users than the official online vita support, at least in my experience
That app doesn’t have every psp, and ps1 game. Don’t be fooled, I was. It has hundreds of games but lacks the ps1 games I grew up on and some psp games.
DS + 3DS library alone is unbeatable. I’m shocked that the New 3DS can’t handle N64 and PS1, That would be the only advantage that the Vita has over the 3DS.
My only issue with a modded psp or psv is the lack of a second display to play DS and 3DS titles. We all have to admit that the use of both displays on a 3DS is so unique that it allows for unique gameplay that can’t be emulated or replicated. That very unique gameplay and so many 1st party games is why I think the DS and 3DS are superior.
1st. 3DSs are easier to mod. 2nd. 3DSs sold better so you can buy them. 3rd. I have a 3DS but I don’t have a PS Vita. 4th. The Vita cannot play Yo-kai Watch, my all-time favorite game franchise. So as you can see the 3DS is better.
I simply like the lineup up 3ds better, but vita still has lbp, persona, mgs peace walker, patapon, burnout, uncharted, rayman legends, revelations 2 and gravity rush that definitely make me bat an eye
I'd bring up the exclusives, I never really cared that much for nintendo stuff because it's always either a platformer or a turn based rpg. Sometimes a puzzle game, but very rarely a fun action game
Only issue with that is that there are other consoles that can do what the vita can and also way better. Take a steamdeck for example! The only thing that can emulate ds and 3ds better than the 3ds cost $800…
That's cool and all but, I still use my 3ds due to games running natively. It's loaded with all my Nintendo games, and I use the psp go due to its small size and easy portability.
I think you are missing the home brew part completely. The home brew community on the vita is amazing. Don't think the 3DS can play Bully, GTA 3/ SA, Max Payne, Fallout and so on.
Basically they do all the same things but the fat Vita has a WAY nicer screen imo, so you’re just switching out DS and 3DS games for PSX, PSP, and PSV games.
There's no a "better" one, at the end is just the each opinion that matter, and as a owner of both consoles, the most special difference is the library, and which you like more
If you got the money though I feel like a steam deck or a dedicated emulation portable would be better steam deck can run Wii u games smoothly. The 3ds has the advantage though of being by far the best way to play Its library and the DS's library because it has multiple screens. Also a little subjective but I feel the clamshell is just a bit nicer feeling in my opinion I still like the design of the PlayStation handhelds but I just prefer Nintendo's handheld overall.
3ds for some reason is hard to emulate still. Maybe once Vulkan gets off the ground for citra or mikage comes out and is good it’ll change but even the latest android phones and even many beefy pcs have shader studders and sound issues even on powerful devices. So a 3ds may be more valuable for being able to mod and play 3ds games perfectly with no lag but the vita does have a trophy system which is also fun cause you can get trophies on the go I believe even modded.
For me the PSVita wins overall. Sure it can play NES, SNES, Genesis, Neogeo yatta yatta old school systems that I'm sure the 3DS can play on a better screen. But really it's the Near native ps1 compatibility, and the massive collection of PSP titles. It also has a lot of interesting ports. The Vita library wasn't as good as the 3DS for sure, but it has surprisingly a decent amount of quality games on it that I didn't even know got ported. The God of War Collection. Metal Gear Solid 2-3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1-2, The Danganronpa series, Zero Escape series, Persona 4 Golden, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, MK9, tons of various visual novels and rpgs. That being said, while I do think the Vita is the superior option. The 3DS (Which is more expensive than the Vita as of now) Is a device that is probably more valuable in terms of practical use. All of the Vita games and it's systems it can play will be emulated by future consoles in well the future. But dual screen emu devices that can play DS, and 3DS are a long ways away if they come at all.
But the ds and 3ds just has platformers and turn based rpgs, so saying it has a better library is a lie to anyone who likes action games. The 3ds fucking sucks if you wanna play something stylish and fun, unless you just wanna play kid icarus uprising over and over again
The vita isnt perfect with its ps1 compatibility because u cant change the popsloader version like an old psp. So games that break on the last pops loader like mortal kombat trilogy dont work at all
Also the 3ds has the ability to play gba games natively, so u get near perfect compatibility with them unless its something like the huge rom carts for those gba dual movie releases. I also wouldnt say the screen is worse than the vita for retro games. Because the new 3ds xl has a lower resolution screen, retro games can actually scale perfectly within its 240p screen. Meaning perfect 1 to 1 pixels, no upscaling for that emulator look. You actually get that natural scanline look as well so games look not only sharp but pretty faithful. I own both but I think they are tied in their own advantages of what they can play
@mario4everd I have no clue what you mean by that, every game that was officially released doesn't have that problem, and neither does racing lagoon which is the only ps1 game I play 🙃
@mario4everd I don't play gba games, I like to have fun when I play a video game, and every single one I tried on my 3ds was really boring except warioware, but that's not a good enough reason for me to turn the console back on. Plus I have an old 3ds, and the aftermarket prices are so absurd from nintendo nerds that I'm just abandoning dealing with it. I might sell my 3ds to one of them so they can get their jumping fix, and I can get $150 off a glorified gameboy

side by side they work together in harmony you can play what you want on the vita but if you want to play a DS or 3DS game then you can play the 3DS
They aren’t the same I have both and I love playing 3d games on my new Nintendo 3ds xl such a great system
That's why I have both and a PC Handheld for GameCube, Wii, Wii U, PS2 and Steam
GameCube? Wii? DS? 3DS? Wii U? Virtual Boy? I didn’t think so
Well but there’s a downside, for to need more storage on psvita with a sd card, u need an adapter, for to have like 64gb of storage.
Eh, but I had the Vita and it suffered frame dips on certain SNES and Gameboy Advance titles. IMO, just get a 3DS
yeah I dont understand all this hype over the Vita lately. for a 2024 device its terrible at emulation, it has a weak first party game library and whatever homebrew stuff you find on there is actually just old PSP brew.
Have both and i love them both
I own a ps Vita and totally disagree with you.
Also with SNES games muscle memory of the face buttons favor the 3DS.
PSP blows any library out the water except maybe PS2 or PS3
You can use autoplugin to connect a ps4 controller to your vita, the triggers might work through there
Theyre both just as great with their differences. I say this as a modder and collector, i use all my systems.
let's not forget the OLED screen that the 1000 model has lol
Really curious what Pokémon would look like on the vita - one screen and all
As an adult with my own money, I realized how stupid the console wars were... Its easy to get both... And just use them in rotation...
Someone merge the two and we're set.
I love my modded vita but I also buy original games and hardware because I love playing on original hardware to relive my childhood
You can also play NDS games, it’s not the best experience but it works
@@2mono7 that sounds like one hell of a console. I have only 32 gigs of storage so i don't have that many titles. Which 3ds do you have by the way?
Realistically in terms of emulator support these two are nearly equivalent, with Vita obviously having the slight edge in overall power. But ultimately it comes down to whether or not you value the PSP/Vita libraries or the DS/3DS libraries to decide which one you like better.
Good thing I got both and I'm planning on getting a psp go and a Gameboy micro next
I own both, the new 3ds xl for Nintendo games, the vita for vita, psp, and ps1 games.😁
And also it has a bigger and better screen cause it's less pixelated so higher ppi density meaning clearer view... It's also more comfortable to hold ...
You can also play all the old school Nintendo games up to gba on a psp.
Even DS games, I’m not sure how but I definitely know it’s possible.
At the very least, bare minimum, you could scrap the entire ps vita operating system and replace it with a 3DS Operating System
New 3DS XL's can do PS1 games, too. Pretty much everything you listed the 3DS can do the equivalent on it's own system.
It just boils down to whether you like vita games or 3ds games
The takeaway here isn’t even which is better, just that you should definitely mod your systems.
I have all on my phone. Got a backbone and now my phone is basically a switch
They're both required for me. The vita is awesome, but so is the 3ds. The 3ds and ds libraries alone require me to get the 3ds. I'll use my vita for most other things, but the 3ds and ds libraries are both huge and they're both loaded with great games
I Like the Vita because of the Games Like GTA SA or Max Payne or a Lot of Android Game ports
I wonder if you can run a Pokemon rom through a randomizer and play THAT on the Vita?
a hacked rom ? yeah it can
A modded 3ds can play 3ds, ds, gba, gbc, snes, nes, and vb games. On top of that, people have made reverse engineered ports of many games like COD zombies, Super mario 64, and minecraft.
i like the 3ds more mostly because i like the ds and 3ds libraries alot more than the psp and psvita libraries
Wait. Hold up. Tara’s jacket is amazing!
but I also want to play 3DS and DS games.
Plus you really do want one on hand so as to deal with anything else other than most basic modding steps which will crop up as you play around with either system
just get the cheapest pc or laptop
My Vita is modded and all but.. i never knew i could install Nintendo games... Hoo Boy you don't know how excited i am!
But I like using the stereoscopic 3D
Ds can do many of the same features modded both are very good only thing I would say you can play more triple A games on the vita but still the 3DS can be very impressive
3DS is a must for 3DS games though. Need that 2nd touch screen and stylus.
You make it sound as if the 3ds cannot run wonderswan, lots of retro sega consoles, game and watch, PS1 and a whole ton of other stuff that I forgot
Wow I had no idea a modded PS Vita could do all of that! That being said I wouldn't trade my new 3DS XL for the world! Absolutely love it. ❤
What's the app?
Just download the iso. It's not rocket science. If it's not in the library just download the game file yourself and install
DS + 3DS library alone is unbeatable.
I’m shocked that the New 3DS can’t handle N64 and PS1,
That would be the only advantage that the Vita has over the 3DS.
You can play ps1 games on the new 3ds but only a select few are compatible. I love Nintendo but defo agree that the ps vita seems more powerful
1st. 3DSs are easier to mod. 2nd. 3DSs sold better so you can buy them. 3rd. I have a 3DS but I don’t have a PS Vita. 4th. The Vita cannot play Yo-kai Watch, my all-time favorite game franchise. So as you can see the 3DS is better.
the new 3ds can also emulate ps1 and N64 quite well actually. N64 with better compatibility than the vita last I checked.
id do this just to play all the vita games and psp games, not to mention the ps1 games, its a solid handheld console.
Cant wait to mod my da. Haven't gotten around to it yet. Love my modded Vita. It's awesome!
Vita also can play ds games (melonDS or NooDS), but frame rate so low...
How can I get all of these games for my ps Vita???
Just follow a guide online buddy.
And you can get the L2 R2 grip and it's even better
What an idiot take, both are great and do different things
i dont see the point, why you compare those 2 handheld? psvita cant play no 3ds and no ds games tho
That's cool and all but, I still use my 3ds due to games running natively. It's loaded with all my Nintendo games, and I use the psp go due to its small size and easy portability.
You can play more ps1 games on new 3ds than nintendo 64 games on psvita
Its worth it just for the Vita library.
I have Vita 1000 and 3DS XL, and i'm going to upgrade to Vita 2000 and New 3DS XL
I have a ps5, ROG Ally, Steam Deck and Switch. If you guys gotta think about it so hard, just buy both. I've seen both selling for around $100.
I had a modded Vita and sold it, can't compare to my modded NEW 3DS.
There's no a "better" one, at the end is just the each opinion that matter, and as a owner of both consoles, the most special difference is the library, and which you like more
what’s the psvita app that allows you to play any psvita game
You can play n64 and some ps1 games on new 3ds too
only on NEW 3ds? or standard 3ds too?
@@panchojestem I think it's on new 3ds only and only small amount of games are working with good fps
Guess what my phone can do
As good as the Ds and 3Ds library is, I think the ability to play PS1 and N64 games makes the PsVita a better option.
Yea I was playing mk4, mk mythology subzero and crash bash that’s cool as hell
You can now do that on the new 3DS
If you got the money though I feel like a steam deck or a dedicated emulation portable would be better steam deck can run Wii u games smoothly. The 3ds has the advantage though of being by far the best way to play Its library and the DS's library because it has multiple screens. Also a little subjective but I feel the clamshell is just a bit nicer feeling in my opinion I still like the design of the PlayStation handhelds but I just prefer Nintendo's handheld overall.
3DS having N64 and PS1 emulation:
except those PSX games are a dookie 20fps
@@andresjuarez8325 Not really
I know about this Mod, I currently have it on my PS TV.
These gamers should have never have doubted PSVITA.
You can play DS games with the delta emulator
Im curious can you play multiplayer with some emulated console on the vita
IMO : nothing can beat original Nintendo hardware and software
BROS MAKEING ME ANGREY
