What size diamond bit are you using in your video? Nice video. I found a bunch of these glass blocks at a resale shop for Habitat for Humanity the other day. They wanted $8 dollars apiece for them. I don't recall how clean they looked, but they would make very nice lamps to convert and use for Christmas presents or office gifts when done up with the vinyl stickers and a clear 25 count led light setup. I may have to return and pick up a few to play about with. I believe they sell down here for as much as $40 bucks each when new.
The other video on here by Nancy, shows her drilling with a hand drill, (non press) and she is doing a block in 1-1/2 minutes. I think you should watch her video because she makes it look much easier. Might save you some time.
A drill press is more accurate. Holding a hand drill, if it goes side ways or something moves, you are likely to break what you are drilling. I have the cheapest Harbor freight tools bench top drill press and it does a great job. Not holding a hand drill is nice and you actually have more control with a drill press. If you are doing just one or two then use a hand drill. I'm doing a short production so I have a jig set up on my drill press.
Love diamond bits there amazing. Never thought to use putty for the water we did it by a water bottle and adding it while drilling.

About how many holes can you drill before the bit is done?
