wow Chris you work hard and its not easy. big respect to you coming from an ex AA patrol man was on it for few years so I know what its like. that shredder is one annoying machine with problems every time lol. Got to say big shout out to Rob for helping you as he always does. Robs one of those workers that will stick by you and help you until the job is done and never moans :)

seems to me the biggest problem in "Scotty's yard" is the fact they do not clean or check the machines on a daily basis... it is no wonder stuff keeps breaking with all the dust and dirt covering the engines and other parts... only need like 20 mins a day to check the machines.

Scotty needs to get his lads on cleaning for the last 20 minutes of each shift, they'd also spot half the problems before they turn into full blown calamities ?
We had a smaller shredder at work, it would shred wooden pallets and cardboard to feed a biomass heater. My boss asked me to replace all the teeth/cut edges and when we fired it up, the first thing through it was her wedding album after her divorce was finalised !😂

The first thing I do with a new grinder is throw the guard in the trash. Your not alone in his you work Chris. I can't stand ppe. I rely on common sense and luck, served me well for 42 years in this earth. My hearing isn't great though 😂
