100% makes sense Chris explains it. No wonder the royal mail is in a mess when pat is living it up like a king with helicopters and trains and all sorts. He's just 1 man. Back in our day pat was a struggler
My Father always use to say, "As long as you do/ did your best you have nothing to worry about" amazing what that's carried me through in 40 years. The secret is you have to try your best at all times to make it work though 😆
Chris, you are doing an amazing job! I’ve been following you for about a month now and watched many of your earlier blogs! I too am in the game fixing construction plant and I love your energy and positive nature! Many times we have all done that 5 minute job that has taken a whole day when someone has used a gun and cross threaded something before we have turned up! Keep making these recordings mate, I hope someone from the tele sees these as you would be excellent on a tv show doing something like Fred Dibnah did!
I was a maintenance electrician for a steel mill. I worked on straddle cranes that used joysticks for control. We had a run of breakdowns and all due to joystick failures. One of or shift electricians had taken it upon himself to lubricate the controllers, unfortunately he used penetrating oil in a spray can which ended up taking the lithium grease out of the bearings. Glad we stopped him before he did the whole fleet. I appreciated him being proactive but he cost us a fortune.
Afternoon Chris……I’m with you on the kids tv back in the day, Saturday mornings were ace, best of any era, proper kids tv…..and yes, with a solid story behind them……👍🇮🇲😜
17:21 IV done it myself but in a pinch when you don't have a tap but you have extra bolts. Take a angle grinder and cut the threads perpendicular to the length of the bolt. This works to give. Bolt an edge to cut the thread. I'm sure if you Google tap made from bolt
Hi Chris, love all your videos and your rant about postman pat is hilarious 😂 keep up the good work and loved to hear Archie is a forest fan, good lad,all the best Mark
You are right about something new , if you haven't done it before its a learning curve but it's interesting working things out and overcoming problems. Bloody good show 😉
Thunder cats , fraggle rock, he man, pob? Anyone remember pob ? Red n yellow striped in jumper, spitting at the screen ? Ah the good old days when kids tv was awesome !!!
Bloody good show Chris...... can you leave a link in the descriptions below for the ' struggle spray 'i could do with a can of that looks like its a must go to item🤠😆 👍
Great video Chris had a right laugh at Thomas the tank and postman pat jaysus that’s serious money to be down in a hour have to say it’s a serious operation Scott has
Heard a soccer mom yelling at her kid once “second place is the first loser!” Little too competitive for 10 year olds. Like you said try hard but have fun also. Can get competitive later when they are older. Keep up the Struggle! Cheers🍻!!
Chris, A tip or two moving forward. Those M24 bolt your 'struggling' with are probably not cross threaded but the threads have picked up on each other. What's needed is some proper good lubricant like an anti-seize Cooper slip. This will not only allow disassembly but look after the threads on both components and reduce the said problem, but using decreased will only promote the problem. Hope this is useful and keep up the good work 👍
I was visiting family and we went to get my niece, mid sports day and she had no idea I was going....They were doing the usual chuck a bean bag in a circle then it got to the sprints from the lines of the court....I remember one kid crossing the line DEAD last and he was going "but I won right?" and the teacher said "yeah you came first last" and he was BUZZING! got his little medal and everything - His dad was not so kind...."There's no such thing as first last mate, you lost." haha! Love how the content has evolved Chris you're a natural :)!
Well done chris what a day that was, i have had many of them especially when doing s cam bushes and forget the outer rubber seal and have to strip it all down again lol 😂😂, struggle on my man 👌💪
@Chris Allen - Professional Struggler Those Milwaukee inch drive guns setting 4 is 2400 nut busy or 2033 tightening torque... That good enough to cross thread most bolts...
Bloody good show there Chris, you have a mind that can work out things just by looking at how they work, you are very good at working out the struggles 👍 whooo whoo 😀
We never had time to watch cartoons Chris, too busy down "T" pit digging coal out with our 6 year old hands😲and with no shoes and socks on!!! Socks hadn't even been invevented😲🤣🤣🤣
i learnt 30+ years ago never ever start a nut or a bolt with a windy gun or as you all have now electric guns dosent matter what size nut or bolt it will shred them in seconds takes but a few extra seconds to start them by hand... nice fix though !!
How goes it matey?! Those Unthas shredders are a pain in the ass! Do a good job though. Find out if they are hard facing those cutting teeth and blades before they put them in? They'll get a lot of extra use out of them. Also, those bolts and fixings cost a bloody fortune for OE so not surprised they've been putting any old crap in. Lol
Mate I watched all them type of cartoons like postman pat and Thomas the tank engine and did you ever watch brum about the little yellow car aha and ur completely right about morals and stories and taught us work ethics 👍
Hi Chris, wow thats some "fix it" spray !! That waste processor machine is a beast but just shows how quickly it comes unstuck if not checked or maintained. I'm sure those bolts and tolerances. They seem a great bunch of lads too. Everyone mucking in and carrying on regardless to help. Keep safe, G🙏👍🏻
If you need a field tap , but only have a spare bolt. If you use an angle grinder and cut a little tapered notch vertically. and bingo, instant thread chaser.
Chris only you could tell a story about postman pat and Thomas the tank relating to work ethics. You had me pissing myself. Thank fk I am retired and away from all this snow flake shit that is controlling the world. Keep struggling mate👍🏴
Chris the professional struggler and his able assistant struggler Rob.Bloody good show boys. Now you know how that machine works and gets put together, that will be another call out job in the future.👍
Them knives are fooked and the cutter blocks don't look much better and the hard facing on rotor looks low,use aluminium anti sieze on clamp bolts, doesn't cure cross threads but helps on dismantle. You right on your crossthread diagnosis seen it a few times. And sometimes shredder rotors 'grow' when your run them up to speed and the block start clipping the knives but on 6mm clearance that's never happening
Me and my fella watch you every week and com up with the idea someone should help u make a cartoon version of you call it CCM the mechanic man! 😂😂 Make it just like the original post man pat! Anyway, take care keep on struggling! 👋🏻😁
No need for that 3/4” impact, or is it a 1” ? Those bolts don’t need 1500nM plus. Tell them to use a 1/2” impact, then a preset torque wrench, cheaper and safer than that thing. It’ll prevent mess ups like this. Time is money, and there was quite a bit lost there, for the speed of using that gun. Great work as always, stay safe out there!!
That’s where they go wrong should be assembled by hand tools sockets, ratchets, spanner’s and torque wrenches are all hand tools. Then you know that you have the machine assembled correctly and the correct torque settings!
Chris if you dont have a tap get a bolt, with a grinder cut two grooves along the length of the thread you now have a thread cleaning tap😎
That postman pat and Thomas the tank engine story 😂😂😂😂😂👌👌👌👌
100% makes sense Chris explains it. No wonder the royal mail is in a mess when pat is living it up like a king with helicopters and trains and all sorts. He's just 1 man. Back in our day pat was a struggler
Spot on
Captain Pugwash, The Clangers and the usual Disney stuff of the 1970's. Still great fun to watch.
At a push you can cut some flutes down a high tensile bolt with a cutting wheel on the grinder, it’s like a makeshift tap to re thread it 🤷♂️👍
My Father always use to say, "As long as you do/ did your best you have nothing to worry about" amazing what that's carried me through in 40 years. The secret is you have to try your best at all times to make it work though 😆

Great video Chris, a good tip I was shown is to put a slit down the old bolt thread with a grinder to turn it into a tap to Clean the thread up.
Another lovely job Chris 🚛🚛🚛🚚🚚🚚⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏👍👍👍
You’ve had a bloody good day there mate! Jobs well done. Job well done to Bob, that site wouldn’t run without a Bob 😂👍🏻
