Love this channel and your spontaneous delivery .I have 7 casio watches which started with my dad buying me one in the 70s and then I've always bought the basic f91s ever since ,but I've been branching out a bit more .cheers
i have almost 20 casio watches , all diferent (casio vintage , cheap digitals , ana-digital , divers , edifice , oceanus non-solar old model , g-schock) ) I'm afraid to buy pro trek and lineage (maybe i have luck and find old non-solar lineage) because they are solar and I don't have enough light, having so many I rarely wear them, because I also have other brands and I don't know how the solar would behave if not worn
This is a kind of video for everyone who has bought his first watch. I understand collecting isn't about being economical or having rational reasoning. I even believe there's no real need to wear every watch in a collection. In my book collection is a set of things built after certain rules, not a bunch of random examples. That could be all-digital-Casios or chronographs-only or one-watch-from-every-Casio-subbrand. And few watches to wear daily, like I have cheap Skmei for miserable situations with sweating and such, solar for daily use and diver Casio for a day out. All that matters is how much fun it is.
I went mad and collected 70+ Casios in over a year (and about 30 other watches, mainly Timex Expeditions). I’ve a cap of $100 on a watch (excluding PRW-35 which was more than $100) and I’ve bought excellent G-Shocks and Edifices under $100 ( even the ones with Solar, Sapphire, Bluetooth ) when they were on super discounts. The only ones I kind of regret buying are low end digital resin watches (W217H, W96H etc..) which in spite of being great watches don’t find much wrist time. Like you mentioned, there were phases when I collected all the available world timers, all the available Duros etc.. If I look at your collection, I see that you’ve a broad spectrum of Casios (even though only one of PRW-30 & 35 might’ve been good enough!) and you’ve certainly preferred quality over quantity. You shouldn’t have much regrets !
Casio is a gateway alright, it's a gateway drug. Those MR-G squares look really nice, and they are "only" $4,000. I'm only half kidding. This is the absolute truth: ua-cam.com/video/m986siwzefs/v-deo.htmlsi=1LWWuBZFfSOBloKR
I know I might be missing the point of collecting, but thinking "what am I planning to do with this watch and how it helps me" works sometimes. Unfortunately this thought is swiftly washed away when you start comparing the specs and the details. But then again, you are youtuber, it's your job now. "If comparison is a thief of joy then I'm a Robin Hood"
@@thissmallwrist actually I'm not sure it's a good advice. rationalization doesn't help with what you feel and how you feel I think there are watches that are boasting status symbols and there are watches that are toys. which is which depends on the context but I prefer toys and when you are missing your plane or something it doesn't matter what a watch it is, it just mercilessly shows you're late and that's it

True. As long as it's fun

I've bought more since filming this video, but I'm trying to buy less. Maybe limit to one per month or so. 😄

So expensive 😁

That's a great thought to have. I might have to consider that before buying more
