    What do you think?! Does Stan's 23" (gigged) flounder beat Carah's 22" (on artificial) for the house PB?
    Here's Carah's catch: ua-cam.com/video/6GSd9sR-Fr8/v-deo.html

      The gigged flounder doesn’t count... Carah’s 22” still wins. Sorry Stan 😫!

      Fishing FinAddict that's a tough one.. Stan's is bigger but it is a challenge to get them to bite vs spot and stab.. our house vote goes to carrah, sorry Stan we still love your catch too!!

      Fishing FinAddict no way!!! Sorry, not in my opinion!!! A lot harder to get one to bite and keep it hooked up that gig. That’s just my opinion though. I love how competitive y’all are!!!!

      Carolina Marsh Raider its all good. I’m not upset. I’m still so proud of Carah and her ability to whip my behind when it comes to fishing! Great way to blow off some steam though: Flounder Gigging. lol

      reelFLgirl I agree with y’all. Always happy to have such an amazing partner that is a better angler than myself. I can always fall back on gigging the founder though! Lol 😂

    You should look into doing this commercially for a living here in Florida I’m a commercial flounder man and I typically get between 50lbs a night to 300lbs a night at $6.00 a lb it’s good money

    Last time I was in SC I had a delicious flounder at Fleet Landing. They served it whole with the tail (no head) with like a sweet and tangy glaze... delicious.

    How do choose where to gig flounder? Totally random spot on a beach? This was a good video.

    • @FishingFinAddict
      @FishingFinAddict  6 років тому +1

      Thank you! It's one of our favorites. When choosing a spot we suggest scouting it out during the day. Look for structure like rocks/jetties and eddys (where water pools) those are good spots to try.

    • @VirantRoss
      @VirantRoss 6 років тому

      Fishing FinAddict Do you ever catch any fish inshore via Topwater lures?

    • @FishingFinAddict
      @FishingFinAddict  6 років тому

      We're new to the topwater game. Had a few strikes from reds and trout last weekend. Hooked a trout that got off at the boat. We were using the Super Spook Jr & Skitterwalk. Really like how the Spook looks. From what I hear, the topwater bite is limited in the summer but turns on as the weather cools.

    • @VirantRoss
      @VirantRoss 6 років тому +1

      Fishing FinAddict I just picked up A Heddon super Spook 5" & a few Bombers to give it a try. I hear they work in other areas but not much feedback from Charleston area

      Flounder is so good! Bet you'd love gigging. And it'd be fun to do with the kids. Here's the light we use when walking: amzn.to/2L7FlpX. Rocks and eddys at the beach are the areas you wanna check out.

    Nice video👍🏻 I live in Conway and want to get into gigging flounder. I gig bullfrogs all the time, where’s a good place to start at around here?

    • @FishingFinAddict
      @FishingFinAddict  6 років тому +1

      Thanks a lot, Colton! Hope y'all are doing ok post Florence. We're not very familiar with that area but we're sure you can find flounder on the sand in Myrtle Beach. Look for structure like rocks and piers. Eddys and inlets are good spots too. There's a good looking inlet on the beach, across from Family Kingdom Amusement Park.

    Stumbled upon yalls channel today, enjoying the content. I'm from SC and my family has a beach house at Edisto Beach, y'all ever fish near there or mainly around the Charleston area

    • @FishingFinAddict
      @FishingFinAddict  6 років тому

      Glad to hear you've enjoyed the vids. Edisto is awesome! We fish there occasionally, not regularly (we are hoping to do a surf fishing video on Kiawah soon- next door). Conditions here and there are pretty much the same. So the tactics you see us using should work there.

      I wonder too! The guy that joined us was fishing right where we found a few and didn't get any bites. It would seem they weren't feeding. Thanks for watching!!

    • @EricFortuneJr.
      @EricFortuneJr. 4 роки тому +1

      Late reply here.. Usually by the time the light hits them they’re aware of you. They can also hear you wading so food isn’t a priority for them. They are masters at camouflaging so their instinct is to be completely still to blend in until you touch them. They usually won’t take a jig or any bait as long as they sense a threat nearby. Personally I’ve had most of my luck jigging during the day with moving tides using VUDU or DOA. At night I use either live or fresh cut shrimp for black drum, redfish, specks and bull whiting.

    • @jaketripaldi9799
      @jaketripaldi9799 4 роки тому

      @@EricFortuneJr. for somebody with no experience doing this but wants to try, how would I go about doing this with bait I'm also in Charleston in case you know any spots I could hit?

    • @EricFortuneJr.
      @EricFortuneJr. 4 роки тому +1

      jake Tripod I don’t get down to Charleston very often, I mainly fish the inlets between Georgetown and North Myrtle during outgoing and low tide. For live bait I favor small to medium sized finger mullet followed by jumbo mud minnows and certain seasons live shrimp work well. I haven’t gotten down to Charleston in a while though, I’m know there’s some decent spots down there.

    • @EricFortuneJr.
      @EricFortuneJr. 4 роки тому +1

      jake Tripod Also if you’re fishing for flounder it’s best do so during the day or maybe at night near a stationary light that doesn’t move.

    Flounder are one of my favorite fish to eat that I can catch up this way. It's rare that you catch big ones in the areas I fish, but you can sometimes. This is an interesting way to fish. I'd rather catch them with a rod and reel, but this is a good way to put meat on the table. Congrats on the new PB doormat!

    • @FishingFinAddict
      @FishingFinAddict  6 років тому

      Us too in regards to dining and catching 'em on a rod and reel. But gigging is a great way to beat the summertime heat and enjoy the water. (Inshore) Flounder don't get terribly big around here either, not like what we've seen from the Gulf anyway. Thanks so much for watching!
