I'm impressed with the attention to detail and the amount of hands-on work! I've had a pair of suede Vellies for a couple of years and they are my favorite and most comfortable shoes.
I've got some Redbacks, Thursday Captains, but my favorite pair of boots so far are my African Rangers! Jim Green won me over, and I ain't going back lol
@@taargustaargus3139 I did not actually, though it has been a thought! I want to wax them too, I took them to a festival and it rained for 2 days... definitely needed the water proofing, but the normal insoles did fine, tho definitely hard lol
@@coopersand911 yeah haha. I went to an Oktoberfest and my feet got wet but not soaked. Basically the leather itself absorbed moisture. I have 2 pairs of ARs and 1 pair of steel toe razorbacks. The African rangers I only wax the Stichdown/welt but the steel toe razorbacks I was the entire thing. I find that a good foam and/or leather insoles does the trick. Nick's sells leather insoles if that's what one would prefer. And foam insoles can be found anywhere.
I can see myself wearing these casually out to dinner with my wife. The different varieties of boots that is offered is a plus. Thanks Jim Green for the great work you do inside and outside of the factory. Can't wait to own a pair of your products. "Jim Green All The Way" 👍
seeing how these boots are handmade makes me very very happy to own a pair of these HIGH QUALITY MADE BOOTS thank you all so much for a wonderful pair of boots from BOLINAS CALIFORNIA
Just received my tan vellies this past week and I could not be more satisfied. They are stylish and durable. Now, thanks to this video, i understand the high quality of labor that went into making them. Much love from California
Thank you for the kind words and support. We wish you the best for the adventures ahead and should you have any questions down the line please do get in touch, we are happy to assist💪💪
I own this ones. Best vellies. This company is very good, with perfect customer service. The dark stitching looks awesome. Even when its autumn in my country now i still wear my jim greens vellies and i will be until the first snow. I need the Rangers for rest of the year i think ;-).
I have just received A pair of Vellie boots and I am very impressed with the quality. Its really great to see how they were made. Big thank you to the craftsmen and women who made them and all at Jim Green Footwear.
I like this style of boots! It is simple, robust and durable. A timeless style appreciated around the world! It's a shame we don't have Jim Green in Brazil. Hey Jim Green come to Brazil
I have two pairs of these. they're my favorite shoes. I get tons of complements on them and they're my most comfortable shoes. buy with confidence, you won't be disappointed.
Totally awesome to view, listen, and acknowledge that each pair of Jim Green's shoes are individual done. No two are alike either. No robots. All locale talent making our beloved Jim Green's. Please keep the video's coming. Pax Vobiscvm
Great to seeing them being made thanks, just love my boots I ordered for myself here in NZ. Wore them on the weekend on a Ghost Timber Mill tour and had 2 people ask me about them with out saying a word to promote them! Love it.
I just saw the rose anvil video on the ranger boot being cut monday. Tuesday i ordered ranger boot. Wednesday i ordered vellies. And razor back. The vellies in size 12 brown suede were $62 on amazon. Ive paid 10x that for boots, that were of lesser quality. The construction of these is quite amazing. For the vellies i had a little heel slip. Adding a rexal arch support insole seemed to fix that issue quite well.
I ordered mine half a size down from my uk sneaker size and they were perfect. After ordering, before they arrived, I was kind of concerned about the spend. Not because they're expensive. They're a total bargain of the century. Especially after watching this. No, I was concerned from a 'cost of living trend' kind of perspective and was ready to, maybe, return them for the slightest of reasons but after tying them on and walking around the house for a bit, I heard the following words coming out of my mouth: "These are pretty great". Among numerous other things, I love just how rough the rough-out leather is. I love the whole work-ready look over a usual desert boot, too. Glad I never went with something akin to a Clarks. Definite keepers, for sure!
Good day and thanks for the awesome feedback and support! We wish you the best for the Jim Green journey ahead and should you have any questions along the way please do get in touch, we are always happy to assist 🐸💪🐸
Have been wearing mine for almost 1.5 years , holding up great , got a couple smooth spots on the sole around the heal and ball of foot area but i figure i can get 5 years out of them , these are the best boots I've ever owned , no offense to redwing.
Cool video. I've been enjoying mine for a couple of months now. Khaki and brown leather. You all really did a great job making them. They are terrific - well done.
Seeing how much human care goes into those boots is both amazing and kind of scary... That's a lot of free-hand human intervention without guides or markers! Just eyeballing it square and center! I imagine that rejects are scrapped, or perhaps donated somewhere if they're not too bad... But I can only imagine how a new employee might mess up a boot accidentally!
got myself a pair of ranger that i am using everyday since december and i think i will buy a pair of (SUEDE - KHAKI) vellie.. leather is good.. i am afraid of stains as they are suede and color is prone to stains but will try
This is why we humans need to start thinking about buying quality that lasts. not some piece of fashion crap! the world would be is such a better place if we did!
Good day @KaisarKhawaja, thank you for your interest in Jim green. We can confirm that Jim Green does not use pig leather or pig skin in any of our footwear products.

out of curiosity, did you replace the insoles?
I find they are top notch with a good insole and waxing (if you live in a wet climate as I do)

what is being applied to the rubber sole before they apply the glue? I assume some chemical to soften the rubber.
Good machine... why don't you put them there? and between the fake and the sole a PU attachment so that it doesn't come off easily, I recommend a tip
