  • Plumbing the workshops for compressed air.
I'm using 20mm MDPE pipe and fittings, a trick I learned about from a Farming forum. The pipe and fittings are not officially rated for use with compressed air, so use at your own risk.
The compressor project was started back in 2014!

Paul, you should consider putting a drain in at the lowest point of the plumbing in the shop and have the piping slope to that point to clear the inevitable condensation in the piping as the warm compressed air cools.
It is also a good idea to take your drops off the top of the pipe so "gobs" of water have a lesser chance of being fed into your airtools.
    Cheers Eric

The issue that I know of is with polyvinylchlorid (PVC) pipe and really it's usually an issue where exposed to UV as it becomes brittle. The thing about it is it fails catastrophically, sending shrapnel everywhere. The pipe you used looks like PEX, a cross-linked polyethylene pipe that doesn't suffer from either of the earlier mentioned problems as I aware. Good work.

The compressor had only ever been test run when I bought it, but was made in 1999 and is not a current model. The nearest match is a Clarke VE18C150
