    Thank you Paul. No bulls---, straight to the point. Thats all people need. don't need an hour long video, Plans commentary by people who generally haven't got a clue. much appreciated. have already ordered a pump from Screwfix.

    That's exactly what I've been thinking about doing. Just get something up and running so I can get the use I need while making improvements as time permits. Excellent!

    Really interesting Paul, a vapour blaster was an item on my wishlist, which is now on the future project list. Thanks for putting this video out there.👍

      Glad it was of help. It's one of my favorite tool builds and gets used quite often. Are you still playing with Panhards?

    • @mikecrane2782
      @mikecrane2782 Рік тому

      It is, as I never really thought about making one. On Panhards,I haven't been active for a while as other stuff gets in the way as you know all too often, but I have just started resurrecting a dormant one owner Panhard. The crankshafts and valve seats are the Achilles heel in the engine department which is always a worry with an unknown motor & boy do I know about this when I've used secondhand parts. :) Hopefully it'll be on the road again soon, and I can start rebuilding this one properly.@@EVguru

    I highly suggest you clean your setup after each use and focus on the spray gun. Soak it in mineral oil and clean. I would use Fluid Film myself. It lubricates well, provides a strong barrier to the atmosphere, clings to the protected area and is nontoxic. I believe lanolin or something similar is the main ingredient

      This video went up in September 2022 and the (£12 delivered) blast gun that came with the cabinet is still working just fine on total neglect. If it fails, I'll just swap another one in.

    Looks like a good upgrade. How much glass media is required per fill?

    • @EVguru
      @EVguru  2 роки тому +1

      If you fill a jar with the slurry from the gun (no air), you want to see 10-30% media settle out.

    Just learning about vapor blasters and I'm curious...is a pump actually required? It seems that since we can simply insert a pickup tube into dry media and the compressed air will suck that through the hose, that the same can apply to a water + media slurry. The slurry obviously needs agitated to keep the media mixed with the water but I think that can be achieved with regulated air. Am I missing something?

    • @EVguru

      The media is quite dense and falls out of suspension very quickly. You need strong agitation to maintain the slurry. Adding air to water reduces the density, so the media would fall out even faster.

    Great video but question, What's the HP of the pump ?
    Thanks and keep it up ?

    • @EVguru
      @EVguru  Рік тому

      It's an 1100Watt unit. Probably overkill, but it's mostly stainless steel and a known solution.

      4hp vertical tank, plumbed in system. There's a video about it somewhere.
