One of the things that most excited me about the Steam Deck was the trackpads. I use them all the time, typically the right pad for aiming and camera control, and the left for virtual menus. IMO it's the Deck's killer hardware feature. I mention this because it's always surprising to me to see people play games on it with camera control using the stick.
The tracks pads do ALOT in making this device a useable PC device. Systems like the Ally X that lack trackpads struggle because of it. Camera control can be solid with the pads but the stick also has a never ending input for games with a lot of movements. I’m also pretty comfortable with a controller so the sticks always feel fine to me.
How are you able to use them properly? They are either not moving the camera at all or moving it all over the place for me and i havent figured out how to confogurate it
@Rosinchenrobi you can super fine tune them. I tried them for ghost recon for awhile. You can dial in acceleration and such to have really good micro and macro control. I’m still for sticks though.
@@AndrewTaylorYT thanks for the answer :) Yeah i think i will stick with the sticks anyway.. i am more used to it since i even play alot of games on pc on controller
Started to play ghosts years ago on PS4 and I loved it but after about 20 hours for some reason I put it down and never came back. Bought it on deck a year ago and completed it and it was easily the most pleasurable game I ever played on the deck. I was so blown away and something about playing a triple AAA game on a handheld like the deck legitimately can make you feel like a little kid again
Thank you so much! Gaming handhelds seem to be where the views are at. I like doing videos on other tech and concepts/stories as well. Just love the creative process and random stuff I can make. Hope you continue to enjoy stuff. Thank you so much.😊❤️
Elden Ring was the very first game I experienced on my Steam Deck, which I bought in November. It amazes me to see this _gigantic_ open world game running on a little handheld device at a playable frame rate, even on High settings. I’ve played on big desktop computers and laptops for years that could barely run older FromSoftware games with smaller and less visually demanding environments. It truly feels like the PC hardware equivalent of going down the Siofra River Well elevator for the first time.
I 100% agree. Playing Elden Ring on deck is a crazy experience. Just works and feels so seamless that you forget how crazy the experience you’re having actually is for the device you’re using.
Thank you so much for watching it😊 I hope you continue to enjoy. I’ve got a lot of ideas in different genres and areas. Love me some handhelds but I’ve got a lot of other cool stuff in the works too. Thanks so much for the love and support❤️ means the world.
Great video. I got my steam deck for Christmas. Got some stuff from the winter sale but what I love about steam is the classics on there and their capability with the steam deck. I finally got to play space marine and Bayonetta. Bayonetta is probably my favorite thing I’ve played in a long time. I just beat it a couple days ago and it’s been so much fun. The deck is my favorite hardware on a long time. It’s so nostalgic of the times when your a kid and you get that ps2 or 360 and just tinkering with it is so much fun. And discovering the steam deck community is a pleasure. They’re so supportive and creative with the things they make for the deck and sharing settings and work around for games with each other. Absolutely fantastic.
Thank you so much😊 That means a lot man. Working hard trying to make cool stuff. I hope you’re happy with what you see! Just uploaded a new video like 6 hours ago that I personally think is one of my best. Hope you enjoy everything! Thank you so so much for the love and support!
I just got a second hand steam deck and boy will I play Ori, Elden Ring and Ghost of Tsushima! Thanks for the recommendations! I've been having a blast playing some of my backlog but once I get a good sale on those I'll 100% get them.
Add them to the wishlist and keep an eye on them! They all go on sale all the time! Thank you so much for watching and commenting😊 Hope you enjoy these games as much as I did!
Just got my SD on Christmas. Been playing Elden Ring exclusively- taking my sweet time as I finish up Caelid. My God was Godskin Apostle an awful rage inducing fight Excellent game and great list.
Great video. Very helpful to someone like me who is struggling to figure out which game(s) to spend my precious/limited time on with my Deck. Subscribed.
Great Video, cool dude, nice editing, I subscribe. Cheers to you mate and your future success on this platform. Also, Elden Ring was my first Soul's game as well, minus the one time my old roommate forced me by making me play Dark Souls 3 without any guidance. Have you played Lies of P? It's fantastic and is on the Steam Deck.
Thank you so much! I do my best😊 I have not played Lies Of P yet no. I will throw it on the wish list! Wanna get a PC and stream a lot of these game recommendations. There’s a lot of cool recommendations I’ve gotten. Thank you so much for watching!
Later in my edit I realized how cold that was.😂 Funny enough I replaced that bag as my main backpack today! Finally picked up the peak design everyday carry 20L V2. Amazing bag so far. I have a weird obsession with backpacks. I did a video on one forever ago. Maybe I should bring backpack videos back.😂 Thanks so much for watching!
@ I think you should honestly as a handheld person having nice bags to put my expensive devices in , is a whole thing in its own so I would greatly appreciate that content !!!!!
@wilbertwright8380 I’ll have to give it a go! Make my words. I’ve had an idea and design for a tech focused backpack for like 2 years now. In a year or so I’ll probably start trying to produce it. You’ll know first here on the channel when I start making the best bag for everyday tech carry.
5 of my favs from 2024 to play on the deck: -Blazblue Entropy Effect (Roguelike) -RoboQuest (FPS Roguelike) -TCG Card Shop Simulator -Windblown (Another Roguelike) -Marvel VS Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics
I’ve been getting into rouge likes recently. Gunfire reborn was a super fun introduction into the genre. Out of your top 5 which one do you think I should give a go? Wanting to get a PC so I can stream and hangout with you guys. Feel like rouge likes would be a lot of fun to stream.
@AndrewTaylorYT RoboQuest is kind of similar to Gunfire Reborn, so if you want something a little more familiar, that's a good one. But out of those, BlazBlue Entropy Effect is by far the one i have put most hours on. The devs just released a new update this week and it peaked at 11k players at the same time, the double of what they've done before. Ah, and it's also on sale
Good vid subbed. Personally the steam deck has completely changed & elevated gaming for me. I was and had been a PlayStation gamer my whole life, and still have ps5, but it has been collecting dust since my Oled deck arived 8 months ago. I used to turn on my ps5 and scroll through the menu and shop wondering what to play, even though my library had hundreds of games, i couldn’t enjoy it anymore. I thought to my self for the last 2-3 years maybe im getting too old for gaming, maybe its not for me anymore, but the steam deck revived gaming for me. I have played and 100% 10 games, not to mention all the completed ps2 & Psp emulation games. Idk, long story short - buy a steam deck if possible, it will change gaming for you.
I feel super similar. I did a video a couple weeks ago on how handhelds will kill consoles. You may like that video. Handhelds are just so much more engaging when it comes to playing through massive games. Untethers you from a couch or desk. Let’s you just freely play whenever and wherever. Thanks so much for watching and thanks so much for the sub! I do a lot of different stuff but I love dabbling in tech and nostalgia. Wanting to do stuff around travel and exploration as well. Hope you enjoy the channel.😊
I did a video a couple months ago if you wanna check it out where I directly compared the two systems. Based on your use case I’d recommend a Steam deck OLED over the Ally X. I think you would enjoy it more. Check out the video if you wanna see some more comparisons!! ua-cam.com/video/pUw4doMwJiM/v-deo.htmlsi=yQ5dW6sohOviIprz
Awesome video as always, my friend I want to echo what you said about ghost of Tsushima I have been highly highly addicted to the game since I bought it as well as the additional DLC content cut give you This game is one of those games where you pick up and throws you immediately in the world and from the story beats of combat to tone to the emotions about this game. I highly highly love. I urge anyone thinking about playing this game to dive into this game without thinking about it is one of those games.
OXENFREE. If you haven’t played it I hiiiiighly recommend it. If it’s not on sale on Steam I’m sure you could get a super cheap G2A key. It’s not to long but has a lot of replayability if you’re super into the story and the endings. It’s really good. Thank you so much for watching! Means the world!
I honestly love ghost of tsushima but i own it on the ps5 too. Played around 4/5 hours on the deck and 6 hours on the playstation. Would you prefer to play it on the steamdeck over the playstation?
Honestly I think on the steam deck? It’s up to an individual but I love playing those massive games on a handheld. Lets me play anywhere and go on adventures. When I play at a setup or on a TV I find myself gunning for the main story and trying to finish everything quick as I can. On a handheld I can play anywhere and anytime so I go do random stuff a lot more like side quests. It’s a great time.
I completely agree. I absolutely loved play Ghost on the steam deck. The game looks incredible it performs amazingly and the freedom in game is extended to the real world because I’m also free to essentially play it anywhere.

Honest to god that probably should’ve been my number 1 too. Another year of buying more games on sale than I actually played.😂

They are objectively superior for aiming than the joystick for sure.
