Not to demotivate you but seems like this guy had incomplete spinal cord injury , whereas a complete Sci leaves chances of recovery slim

You will be alright dear.. keep faith in the lord and he will surely cure you.. I worship lord Shri Krishna whom we believe to be the supreme personality among God and every Hindus believe the same. I came to worship after a very long journey in finding the true and supreme God among the Demi-god.. ever since I started believing him my whole life changed and he has been guiding me.. I see my lord in dreams and play and have food with him..
Please read BHAGAVAD GITA as it is (written by shrila prabhupad but spoken by Lord Shri Krishna himself).. it will envoke yur inner spirit and your soul itself will heal your body... In our country India there is no illness we cannot cure but it requires firm faith and utter surrender to the God...
May lord bless your soul and make you walk again dear!!! Please read the gita for my sake and trust me you'll have a different perspective about life and your soul will surely be energized

Hey man. Sometimes the odds seem stacked against us but miracles constantly happen all around us. The medical field come on leaps and bounds year on year.
And if they don’t it’s ok. We’re all just humans on this spinning rock. This life is only part of the journey and at the end of it, the ones who maintained their strength in their darkest times shall be rewarded.

Wow your progress is truly heartwarming to see. And you’re getting JACKED!
I’m truly inspired. I’m not paralysed but I have a mystery illness that often renders me bed bound.
I’m not comparing disabilities, but I just wanna say - nobody truly understands what it’s like to have your life snatched away from you overnight. Seeing all your peers continue to play sports, go to the gym and just generally living life - while you’re stuck inside, in what should be your physical prime.
The last couple years (had it for 4+ years now) I’d completely given up. Any progress I made, I abandoned. I was self medicating, and just genuinely felt helpless - depression really kicking me when I’m down too.
Recently I decided I won’t be defeated. If not for myself, then for my family and my dog. I’ve been trying to make a little progress now each day (sometimes I have to rest a day or 2 in between) and I THINK it’s working.
I just wanna say it’s videos and stories like yours which are playing a big part in keeping me motivated to NOT GIVE UP.
Sorry for the long rant. I just wanna say thank you and I sincerely wish you the best on your amazing journey.

Mason - love the optimism and never give up spirit. I am 54 and joined the SCI world two years ago. I’m C5-6 incomplete and my journey mirrored yours in so many ways. My first six months were brutal on the recovery front with minimal progress but months 6-9 were a new awakening for me. 24 months in, focusing on daily progression, I can manage short distances with AFOs on both legs and the use of forearm crutches. However, my chair is my difference maker. It affords so much independence without fear of falling or tiring out before I arrive. Please know that you sharing your story has only added to my determination to embrace life and live it fully. I have no doubt you will continue to do the same. Thank you for setting the bar.

Hey man it's great to see your channel! I've got spastic cerebral palsy on my right side. I've had 5 open back surgeries to stabilize and open up the canal all occurring at L5. I got a few years of walking then wheelchair bound.
I currently am in a nursing facility because I need so much help. I have a chair I got off Ebay because my insurance wouldn't cover anything that I could be independent in. I can't really use my right hand or leg so I use everything else.
Seeing your journey fills me with inspiration and hope. I've got some unreal pain 24/7 and the nerve pain is just the cherry on top! When I use a walker my right leg bounces. I've taken about 60 steps.
Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey!

Please never let anything or anyone take your hope away. You own your lifetime. Hold onto it tightly. Be gentle with yourself. Sending you lots of postive support 1 year later! Hope it comes to you at just the right moment (if) you needed it! Find what you do have and make your life with that as your foundation. We all have so much to offer! Look up this guy when you hit a rough patch, I've seen him speak in person and he is simply incredible!!! Nicholas (Nick) Vujicic He is married, has children, swims, fishes, I watched him "walk" all over the stage when he was doing his speaking session at a homeschooling conference. I even got to give him a hug afterwards (he gives hugs and everyone lines up for them). Watch some videos about him, it's hard to not feel like "well if he can do all that!..." He did hit some really low points before he picked himself up. He doesn't sugarcoat it and openly tells his full story in his speaking engagements. They are well worth traveling to see and hear, if he's ever in your area.
There is always a ray of light for everyone to reach and spread out from. Best wishes to you! And I truly hope this message isn't even needed, that everything is going great for you today!!! ❤ Rock on! 😊

Dude your killing it! Keep it up every day holds more potential than we know. I got hurt in a car accident that scrambled my nervous system 3.5 years ago. Starting in 2022 I began to struggle to do real basic things… like breathe. In response, doctors said I would have to hurt. I suffered a horrid neurological event in the spring. After I woke up after 2 days Sometging was very different. Neck was finally so twisted and compressed that I lost motor function in much of my body. Doctors told me not to use my prescribed marijuana anymore and offered antidepressants for the condition. No help. Every day for 6 months I worked to stimulate the nerves all day long, and finally yesterday something shifted and my nervous system came back online. Your journey is very inspiring, thanks for sharing its really helpful to see others that have gone through hell and made it back

So. Much. Hard. Work. And. Determination. Oh my goodness. It is stunning how much you and everyone like you faces every single day!
Much respect in the human you are.
I'm also in awe of how many therapy aids you have. The years of effort all those inventors gave to give others recovery options. What a huge world you live in. Not just your family and community, but the whole paraplegic world as a whole. I worked for a company that supported kids with prosthetic legs/feet to run with athletes. And that world was big. But yours is even bigger. I know that every one of those tools you have was made by a person who said this is needed to be made, and they did it. So many inventors who cared and passed that caring on. How cool.
And just look at how much help your own attitude, your family and friends, your community, your medical and therapy helpers, and all these therapy aids have done for you. It's like seeing you lifting yourself up at the top of a mountain of support!
I am so deeply moved by your story. And of course ugg that one of changing moment in a split second. I'm sorry that ever even happened to you. But that is in the past, no sense dwelling on it or you get stuck there. You have to process it, grieve it, and then finally take a deep breath and say "now what do I want to make of this hand I've been dealt in life?" And clearly you had that moment. I hope others get even a portion of all the support you have. I know most don't, and can't, get that much help, and that saddens me. I wonder how we can reach more people who need help.
I will show your videos to my middle schooler. His future lies in technology, ai, robotics, creativity (he's going to love your art video!!), and the sciences. I can see an intersection of his skills and interests, and neurology and rebuilding those connections in the body. I recall how much Christopher Reeves believed this could & would be done one day. We are getting there, but yet so much more work to be done on figuring out how to make those electrical signals (nerves) speak again - on their own or with technological aids to connect, read, process and act upon those signals between the brain and body action. One day we will have such a thing available for everyone. I look forward to that day!
Please know that your actions & videos spread ripples far and wide. Maybe you'll inspire a kid who grows up to move this field forward. And who knows how many people struggling with a similar situation as yours are finding inspiration from you! So many beautiful ripples. Thank you for sharing your story. ❤

@@mason_branstrator Hi Mason Branstrator, how are you doing my friend? Hope you’re doing well Mason! Glad to see you on the video by practising your walking everyday with your Walker and your crutches. I am so sorry to hear that you had a skiing accident which left you paralysed. Hope you get well and better soon! Take care Mason! Hope you have a great week! Nice to see your friendly smiles on your video. Best friends as always from PaulLaw.

Watching this brought back a lot of scary memories from 2006. Narrow nerve canal between l4 and l5, ruptured disk crushing 50 percent of nerve. Minor surgery to remove some bone and trim disk. But it took years to be able to be active again and if too active muscles stop working. It is rather upsetting. One of my rabbits just went through this and died. Really upsetting. I always have nerve pains but at least can cut firewood with caution. I keep having to tell myself not to push it, finally got myself to carry only 2 peices of wood at a time max after the back episode 3 years age. It is hard to find your limits and the job always pushes for too much. I miss motorcycles and agressive skiing.

In March of 23 my 18yo daughter went skiing in Breck...the group went down the wrong slope. She flew off the slope and into trees...bursting her dura around her spine, her T10,11 &12...8 ribs, punctured lung, broken left femur, dislocated right hip, fractured pelvis. She is ALIVE. We were in ICU 2 months CRAIG for 4 months. We are learning to navigate this new life. Thanks for your video! Good Luck to you! We are starting this journey and you have encouraged us!

Wow. Finally, I see one person who is able to walk severe spasticity. My spasticity is little better now. I was thinking with spasticity I cannot do any movements and doing only sitting wasting 10 years of my life. Now, I know that spasticity is not a stoppage for living normal again. Thank you for posting your video. This is definitely a booster dose for me.

    • @mason_branstrator
      @mason_branstrator  2 роки тому

Yes! There are also meds to help which I’m sure you obviously know about baclofen. But CBD Can also help. I don’t take either yet because they bog down the nervous system and hinder recovery closer to injury date. But people do walk with severe spasticity!! Go for it! It feels great to get out of the chair no matter how you do it.

Thank you thank you thank you. I’m currently in a wheelchair. Due to multiple surgeries and autoimmune disease I have had to learn how to walk again two years in a row.
Getting back muscles is very hard. Depending on a wheelchair is very difficult. I’m told it will take 3 days for every day spent bedridden to recover. That equals out to about 3 1/2 years for me. I’m getting stronger every day, hurts like hell but point is don’t give up. Thank you for your post.
