So far it seems like:
coin and mist finer levels are replaced by card, which adds a bonus hit to mist finer and launches the opponent higher.
-He has ensenga back from xx, though it's unclear how it will fully work
-the flip part of zweihander is changed slightly, so it now places a card down on the ground
-His old 2h is replaced with his xx down forward h

The flip reminds me of the old transport from +R...looks like you get a card followup or ensenga followup.

I also really, *REALLY* hope he keeps the stolen items in some way, even if he doesn't use them. Maybe a post-super pose like Raven. I gotta know what man-less Bed would consider its most prized posession.

It's funny because Bacchus Sigh in Xrd was how guard break got introduced to GG.
As for items, my guess is the Joker Trick-looking super will replenish Johnny's cards, with the possibility of unique cards for each character.
You think it'll be a limit of cards? It would make sense but for some reason i assume they would get rid of a limited resource. Although every dlc character has a unique resource meter

Judging from the guide, they did break his legs pretty hard. I also find it questionable how card is NOT a projectile on the ground, only in the air. It looks pretty laggy too. His normals and combo potential better be insane, otherwise I can't see him doing too great. Seems way to fair when compared to Happy Chaos etc. I also honestly think his animations, espicially Mist Finer looked much better in Xrd.

There are some leak show various item models like Xrd so maybe Treasure Hunt still exist, i wonder if MSD Treasure Hunt still a thing, maybe not pop the opponents up high in the air because that would be broken is Strive but some additional reward like prevent wall break would be nice.
Disappointed with coin no longer a things but definitly not bad as i thought, he might still had mist cancel at 0:46 in the trailer, even if it slower or can only be use for strike/throw, its would be really strong in Strive

It would be very cool if they brought back the unblocked, but not as an unblockable, more like ky’s projectile except it moves slow across the screen and you can do setups in the corner, that would be VERY fun, and cool too

After watching the trailer quite few times, I guess Johnny's MF can't be leveled up anymore, thus the cards were involved by giving extra attack when hit (CMIIW since I didn't see any changes in Johnny's MF in trailer, might've missed it). Strive's Johnny is really interesting and leaving me with many questions. How many cards will Johnny have? Does Johnny's super (the one where he throw the card) will return a card, just like Johnny's previous supers? In the end, I believe he will be fun to play in Strive.

@@LucidButtonMasher Of all the wall break implementations I've seen, I think Strive might be my favorite version. Forcing the player on offense to choose between going for a reset and keeping the corner or cashing out for some extra damage and positive bonus is very cool imo.

For me, the most interesting part of Strive's Johnny, besides of his cards, is that he now can dash from MF stance (0:45 in trailer), which, if I got it right, grants him a "dash"-cancel out of everything that can be special-canceled.
He's had that in previous games too. It's also how you can combo off Johnnys super in xrd. He could even do it in the air, wonder if he will have that in strive
And thing that I noticed just now, he can throw cards in two styles: simple throw forward with it smoothly falling from midscreen to ground, and throw from flip straight to the ground (0:48 in trailer), and it's really interesting to see potential of all this novelties.

Given that freaking Slayer at Home AKA Degrey from Fantasy Strike has Dandy Step, I don't see a world where Slayer loses it.
I've said this in another video, but Slayer is one of the most Strive-friendly chars in the series. The game is known for having strong 6Ps so I don't see Slayer losing his. Dandy Step into follow up is very similar conceptually to Anji's spin, which is already in the game. Like Daisuke has surprised me before, but I see at least the core of Slayer's kit translating very cleanly into Strive.
Tbf I'm still surprised it hasn't happened yet, but I understand why they wanted Johnny to head up season 3.
there is no doubt slayer will keep dandy step, thats for sure, im more worried about his follow ups. Like would his CWH still has that extreme low profile hitbox and as a combo tool, or under pressure mixups, things like that
And I wanna bet that he will be neutered just like every other character that has shown up in Strive so far.

I think for johnny I’m glad that he came to strive so that he’s more accessible to more people. XRD johnny is way too hard of a character to play proficiently without years of experience or legacy skill under your belt and this is coming from someone who learned HC (prob the hardest strive character executionally speaking to pick up) and someone who’s got 200 hours on +r sol so I know a little thing or two about finicky combos. Johnny most likely could have been a main / duel main for me in xrd if he was easier hopefully the simplicity can help me enjoy him in strive

Personally as a relative newcomer to GG I never liked Johnny's coins, but I loved the rest of his moveset to death. Maybe Strive will finally give me the chance to give him a chance. Say what you want about butchering but Johnny's still cool as ever
