Pillars of the Underworld (Ky's theme) was the track I fell in love with first. It's awesome that the Switch version of AC+R allows you to use this version of the OST for the different modes of the game. Truly an amazing work, rest in peace Shin Hae-Chul.

Idk, I feel like one of the most important aspects of a fighting game OST is how well the songs fit the characters. I mean look at the KI 2013 soundtrack, it’s an amazing soundtrack on its own, but the fact that each song so creatively and interestingly ties in elements of the fighter’s culture/aesthetic/backstory is what makes it by far one of the best video game soundtracks ever made. There’s plenty of badass metal/orchestral songs within the “epic music” genre, what makes fighting game songs so cool is their direct affiliation to a specific character. When it comes to a fighting game OST I’d argue you can’t really judge which songs are better if you’re not accounting for how well they fit their respective characters, otherwise you’re just doing an “epic music” rating that has nothing to do with it being a fighting game theme.

There is a full english album of guilty gear songs: Guilty Gear XX live in LA vocal tracks. its actually pretty good. Holy Orders, Feel A Fear, Existence, and Momentary Life are absolutely fantastic. And the vocal version of Blue Water Blue Sky is pretty good too. Anyone who wants to hear an interesting take on Guilty Gear music really should listen to the English vocal album. Yeah its not Midnight Carnival, but its certainly not disappointing either, its legit really good.

You should really listen to GG Isuka's OST if you haven't, its ridiculous. Some of my favorites from that game are : Home Sweet Grave, Sheep Will Sleep, Riches in Me, Drumhead Pulsation, The Irony of Chaste (my absolute fav).
