You can be the best player in the world and still have some bad luck and not perform well for a certain club and in certain league. Status wise yeah, Messi is the best of all time... Performance wise? He needs to finish however many years he decides to play in MLS and then we'll see what stats he racks up and how Inter Miami performs overall while he is there. But yeah... As long as he isn't laid out injured all the time I'm sure he will be considered the best in MLS all time. lol.

Carlos Vela scored 36 goals once in the 2019 MLS season, at the prime of his career and after retiring from the Mexican National Team. Also, Vela hasn’t been able to reproduce those numbers and hasn’t scored much since.
In his whole career at Real Sociedad Vela scored 61 goals in 213 games, Messi had 73 goals in the 60 games he played in 2012 alone. This was never a competition.

Inter Miami better improve their midfield & DEFENCE, especially, for them to play up top much better. We can't always be outscoring the opponents all the time & we CAN'T expect Messi to always carry the team. We gotta take some pressure off of him, let him enjoy his time now. I liked watching Messi when he played for Barca. Now that he's in the MLS and playing for the opposing team... not so much. He's still a great player, but i don't feel like he's making the MLS any better. Not his fault, but he's exposing just how behind MLS is compared to top leagues in Europe. When he leaves MLS, the league will go back to what is was before he came.
