Agreed that the 335is is a gem! For years I wanted a 335i, then 335is. I even made a list of all the mods I was gonna put on. When the time came, the prices of E92 M3s were close enough to lightly used 335is' that I took the jump up to the M. Zero regrets a year later, but I know I would've been happy with the 335 as well!
ODi Productions thats great to hear man! The M3 is a wonderful car in its own right's as well! And you can't go wrong with either!
do they come stock with blinkers
no
Lmao I see these comments all the time.
Now I actually always have it in my mind to signal/ I always do. But always think other people will be thinking hey a Bmw driver that signals. Ruined my driving experiences lol..
2011 M3 frozen black edition
No, factory option.
Your mom likes it when I don't signal.
Got my '12 Alpine 335is almost two years ago and couldn't be happier. I prefer it's sleekness in comparison to the bulkier muscular M3. The 335is reminds you it's a special car from BMW every time you start it up and hear that unique exhaust purrr
dubce213 the exhaust alone gets me everytime!
May try to find one for the wife, didn't know about this car until this vid..
I'd have to disagree the presence of the M3 beats the 335 every time.
I take my M to car shows, it grabs as much attention as a ZR1
2011 M3 frozen black edition
20 in North America 263 in the world
I'll admit it could be the paint that draws the attention over being an M
Just bought a 335is and man...
I'm shaking, it's just a dream come true 🖤
Congratulations dude!!
@@SimplyCarThings thx brother 🙏
Congrats! DCT or manual? I've had mine 3 years now and it's still a thrill to drive. I did upgrade a bit though ;) You've got to look into an MHD tune. Stage 1 is a very simple and cheap upgrade that will change your car from quick to fast. Stage 2 and 2+ involves minor hardware upgrades, but takes the car into and beyond M3-fast territory
@@mike_oe DCT :)
Im w8ing for my single turbo to get delivered and looking to put a stage 2 on it😈
I just subbed man! i have an
'08 e92 335i and i'm glad i found a youtuber i can relate to with my car! i discovered a lot of features and quirks i didn't know before thanks to you. Keep up the good work man💯
SKYLINE GT-R Thanks man! I appreciate your kind words it means a lot! Glad you enjoy my videos! And yea there will be tons of more car videos coming soon so stay tuned :)
Simply Car Things The IS uses the n54 power plant, not the n55.
Great video man, as always. It was really pertinent to me as I'm really hoping to pick up a 335is someday.
poltergeistca thank you so much! I hope you get one in the near future! I want one too!
Such a great alternative too if you don’t want the M3 insurance costs as well. You gotta love the stock wheels on the 335IS wheels as well. That and the stock wheels for the E46 330CI ZHP are some of BMWs best looking factor wheels out there. The only problem now is that the 335IS are incredibly hard to find. At least in the general Seattle area. Great video !
Recently bought white e93 335i n54 43k miles from 10k$ clean title. Bone stock, looks absolutely brand new! Love to drive it by the ocean on first freeway in California
Thanks for doing a video about my baby. I got her last June and LOVE it! Great M performance bits, great power and easy to make more, decent fuel mileage, luxury interior, exclusive wheels and low production numbers make it a BMW that other BMW enthusiasts appreciate.
Dan Schwartz Of course man! Glad you enjoyed! Youre lucky you own one, is yours a DCT or manual?
Simply Car Things DCT. The shifts are crazy quick and smooth. Being able to keep the pedal down, the revs up and pull those shifts...wow.
Dan Schwartz Lucky! I want to drive one again so bad, the DCT is amazing. Thats what i would get if i ever picked one up
Great video! My buddy has one with a DocRace 6266 single turbo setup and it's close to 700hp 😀. As soon as he finishes up his suspension upgrade, I'll have it on my channel!
BMW Fanatic Thank you!!! And no way, i can't wait to see that thing on your channel! I wonder what the power feels like as soon as boost comes on. Must be epic 😱
Simply Car Things yeah man, still on the stock DCT internals. They hold the power good, but he will be upgrading the clutch packs here soon!
Simply Car Things it's a beast though!
BMW Fanatic thats incredible that the DCT can hold that much power! Man, it really says something about how overengineered the car is
Simply Car Things It's pretty common - holds plenty of power without upgrading it!
great video. ive been waiting for another 335is overview video looking back on it but all seem to be years old and only about when it first debuted.
boostbrigade thanks! And yea most of the videos on it are quite dated
I am going to agree with your assessment! It slots in perfectly between the 335i and M3. And boy, it looks great and moves with authority. I loved the one I got to review recently. And the sport tuned exhaust sounds great!
The Dutch Texan im glad you agree! i will have to check out your review on it soon!
Awesome review... and love the background music 🎶 who is playing it?
I agree, 2012 E93/DCT with 35k here. Bought it 5 months ago and I fall harder in love every time I drive it. Good overview though I don't think you mentioned the 313m rims. Mine has the 19s and I think it's the best exterior cosmetic upgrade on the 'is, and I believe was exclusive to these cars. Also the amazing dark glacier aluminum interior trim was a very rare option on the 3-series but standard on the 'is. Of course the DCT is what truly makes it special for North America since we never got a dual clutch trans except in the M3. All-around gorgeous cars with monster torque, lightning quick shifts, and intoxicating exhaust note. Brilliant factory car. If I had one wish it would be that they had given it some suspension upgrades as well.
Jarrod Smith Definitely! Very solid points you mentioned, if i had to say one gripe for the 335i's in general, it would have to be their lack of a limited slip differential
Great videos!! What's your take on the difference between automatic trans and manual? I'm concerned that auto will go out sooner and be a huge cost to repair. I'm new to BMW, by the way and you are slowly talking me into giving it a try. Thanks and keep up the good work.!!
Gary Brandolino Thank you! And its really up to your preference. BMW makes both great manual and automatic transmissions which are very strong. For the most part as long as the fluids have been maintained and the car hasnt been abused the transmission should have no problems. At least from my personal experience and chats with other owners
Mine was a tad bit higher in price when I picked it up a couple of weeks ago... but it is still under full warranty until November 2019, so that comes into play.... I am loving it, having moved to it from the 335d. Different power bands, and a little of a learning curve but I like the M package a lot.
I have to agree. > I just picked one. 2011 w 9,000 miles. Love the car!
Pedro Melendez thats so awesome man! Im glad you love your car!
You uploaded this video on my birthday when I got my 335is lol.
Tuong Nguyen haha awesome! Coincidence? I think not lol
I'm so glad to see you growing this fast , i dont know if you remember me but ive just bought the 530xi 2007 that i've told you about , such a good car . Keep up the great work , looking forward to see you up there on the millions 8)
alex cucu Thanks man! That means alot to me! And yes i do remember :) im glad youre enjoying your car, the E60 is a great platform/daily driver to have
ill keep you updated with what i add to it and what issues ill occur with it , have a good day :)
alex cucu sounds good man! Likewise to you!
thanks!
Great Channel. Can you make an episode discussing the auxiliary and oil radiator when it comes to cooling when compared to just upgrading the Intercooler
Just purchased a 2011 335i N55 last month. Loving it so far.
Hows it running ? Im tryna get a 2013 335i with 65k miles on it for 11,200 that good or na ?
@@mikeohbrck8318 I got a 2012 335i e92 N55 cars been awesome bro
don't forget about the 135is as well, though those should cost more since it's basically halfway to a 1M
Revive The True ///M True, the 135/135is is a great car as well. Although the 135is models are quite hard to find!
I'm looking to purchase in the next few days a 2011 335is Convertible. But I'm not too sure with what is standard on 335is vs. what's an option on the 335is... It's an M trim for sure with the better radio. The Convenience Package to my understanding comes with Power tailgate, Keyless entry, Rear Manual Window Shades, Xeon Headlights, Comfort Access >> Not sure totally what that is besides getting with just the key in your hand... Can U shed some light on the matter? Thanks.
I am currently looking at a 2012 335is Cab Convertible for $29,000 cad one owner which waas the dealership owner's daughter in law, figures that this would be a well maintained car. Low km's My question is the car has the BMW colors on the bumper, should I keep this for resale value?
So helpful dawg love the video
I have a 2014 BMW 335i. I love the hell out of the 335. I was looking to get an m6 with the body style you have. I think it was 2007 and they wanted 20k. I might just wait though and trade the 335 in for an m3 in a few years. BMW for life though. Drove Honda, Acura, Nissan, Subaru, and BMW is by far the best out of the bunch.
Agreed bro, the F30 335i's are amazing. I wish I had one honestly. I'm saving up for an M4 but we'll see how that goes lol :D
Awesome video. Thank you
I have an e92 335xi and just got an e93 335is 😳 time to swap the mods! Thanks for explaining the difference my man I thought the exhaust looked different!
Any issue with the engine or turbo? I found a 2011 335is convertible with relatively low miles...took it for a test drive...VERY FUN! I have a 2014 S5...so this would be for my 23 year old daughter...YES we are both car geeks...Thanks!
Great video man. The 335is is an absolute beauty, my friend owns one.. As much as I love the e92, I'd still go with an Msport LCI E90 335i 👌
ESG Thanks man! And yea i totally know what you mean, the E90 has a lot more practicality for a daily driver, and the E90's have better chassis rigidity! And they look great on the road too 👌🏼
so close to 1000 subs, keep up the great vids bro :)
George Gold I know i cant believe it myself! Thanks bro that means a lot :)
@@SimplyCarThings Thank you for the video and look how your channel has grown. 35K now!!
@@ffrob2001 Thank you so much! Just been trying to produce quality videos for everyone!
Man i trying to get an e92 m3 but moved to tahoe area & am about 9000ft above sea level & turbos rule up here so im now thinking of a 335is. My first car ever was a 94 325is with sway bars m3 rims coil overs & intake & tune & i thought it was really fast when i was 17... 2door 3series will always have a spot in my heart
whats reliablity. ready to pull trigger but worried about the reliability. what are main issues. thanks
jeff rosenberg I have a video where i discuss the main issues! Check it out
Hi. Can you please tell me what rims are those at 3:43 ? And what could be the tyre size? I want those for my 320i
Got a 13is myself. Got it in may17 with 12.7k miles. Now it's got a custom tune, LSD and some suspension mods.. It runs pretty good..,and no codes..
Hi there. Still own IS ? 🙄 It would be interesting to see your car
Are you sure the 335is came with a "stronger oil cooler" than the stock 335i? I thought all E92 335i US-spec cars came with an aux oil cooler on the passenger side, the same cooler?
I have a 2012 335is with DCT and love it, have had many BMW's in my life and this car is fun and quick. I love the DCT and this is coming from a guy who has always had a Manual Transmission.
I like this car and compare it to the ZHP E46 as far as trying to explain why it is unique.
BTW, I had a 2006 ZHP Coupe with 6 speed too.
lokalzrule Nice man! Yea i think the DCT is so great, it seriously offers such a large performance advantage, i wish i had one!
I honestly am looking around for a car like this but i cant seem to find a seller, could you help point me in the right direction to finding this make and model for sale?
Reliability on these babies assuming tune and intake only? Was considering this or 135i N55 DCT (both in Vert)
Very informative video. I feel like 335is is one of few examples where BMWs not so good depreciation habit can be taken advantage off for the benefit of the customer. Bmw really filled in the gap between 335 and m3 and with the is model gave its owners the feel of exclusivity. I made the switch from 335 x drive to 335is. I'm biased just like the guy in the video. Definitely recommend to test drive the car.
Giorgi khardziani haha thank you! Us BMW enthusiasts have a bias for good reason! Lol
This is definitely my next cop. 24k for a 2012 335is here cant wait! Coral interior is gorgeous.
x JayAyeWhy I love the coral red 😍 I wish my car had it. Good luck with your car search!
Yo g do you recommend I buy a 2013 335is or a 2015 335i M performance pckg and I will be making these cars Dinan stage 3 so please lmk? Thanks for the vids etc they have been helpful with making my decision to get a bmw!
MHD is the way to go these days
What year is the IS model car you are sitting in? Where in SoCal do you live? I am looking for a nice 335IS convertible as a weekend car. I live in Redondo Beach.
PVMike1 Mine is just a standard 335i. Its an 07 with 110k miles. and yea a convertible IS will be nice as a weekend cruiser!
just purchased lowest mile 335is on Autotrader. Anyone install the $1200 LED RPM alcantara performance wheel ?
$35k with 22k miles, i could NOT find cleaner LeMans/coral red e93 2013 and others were priced higher . Hard Loaded, no folding mirrors.
Dodge Hemi Nice man! Glad you like the car!!
Dodge Hemi currently negotiating for a 2013 335is 36k miles for 28k tan interior coupe
The interior is almost immaculate
I got a 2013 335is for 20k with 22k miles on it
In June I purchased a 2011 335i E93 N55 M sport convertible. It's a beautiful ride. Low to the ground, plenty of power, and great handling. I'd like to look into getting a tune. give your thoughts on that, and some possible ideas on a tune match for an E93 N55!
steven johnson the JB4 would probly work great for your car! Should add around 50-60hp to the wheels!
Go with the MHD tune, me and you have the same car and they are awesome/neck snappers with the top down for sure. If you are going to tune it though you will need to get a chargepipe, intercooler and a new diverter valve or a blow off valve in order to deal with the new found power and to meet your cooling needs.
Other things I'd recommend is an Oil Sport Valve Cooler to keep your engine oil in check and under 250 degrees otherwise you will go into Limp Mode (Half Engine power light will come on).
JB4 is great too but MHD is fast becoming the new choice plus it's easier to uninstall if you are under warranty and have to take it to the dealership for services. BMW is quick to blame anything that goes wrong with your car on your mods or tune if you take it to them and they are having problems figuring out what is wrong with it or how to fix it.
Trust me, I've been through it with them and if they blame your mods/tune then it will void your warranty.
My car just hit limp mode yesterday out of nowhere. I wasnt driving it hard, no SES light, and no weird issues otherwise Im also not tuned. I suspect either a bad vanos solenoid or a boost leak somewhere. I hope I can resolve it quick :/
Simply Car Things did you figure out what it was that threw it into limp mode? I've had mine for over 2yrs now & never felt it go into limp mode. I have the 6 speed tranny so not sure if that makes a difference. I'm FBO now w/custom tune from Active Autowerke.
Is there a specific model year you like?
Just bought one last week, love it so much
Jared Bornstein congratulations! Youre lucky, I want one so bad haha. But im happy with my 335i
Simply Car Things they're both great cars, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to find one and was lucky that it only had some minor issues to take care of. Your videos are awesome so far, keep them up man!
Jared Bornstein Thanks man no problem! And im glad you found a sweet ride :)
is a 2013 335IS convertible good car as far as engine reliability NO Mods just stock
The N54 is definitely not an unreliable engine from what I've heard, but then again my stock 335is just cracked the valve cover and both VANOS Solenoids went bad which is about a $2500 repair
i want to get 335is and 20~25k sounds great for me. can you suggest me what year of 335is is good deal?
Sean K they were only produced from 2011-2013 so any of those!
The 335is or m3 same price but I em 19 soo ...which one do I pick
Just bought one last week ! Quite impressed with the DCT
Bro help me please, I would like to buy a 335is but I would like to know if it has the same parts from the common 335i. I live in Ecuador and here I only have seen one of this cars and it worries me because I don't know if this car needs special parts. Thaks bro
@@hugoalvarez3499 the parts are pretty much interchangeable unless you're dealing with a convertible model, then it can get real tricky and $$$ to get parts.
I have a 2012 IS I love it. I had a 2004 cobra and sold it for it. Couldn’t of be more happy
Michael Vaccarelli how’s much u pay and the care of it
Hello, what is the difference between the is and the i?
Got a n54 e93... drove it 30 miles and the engine gave up.... 😢 its going to Italy this weeks to redoo the whole engine. Hope its nothing to bad and that i can finally enjoy my 335i
2012 335is black on black. I prefer this over M3 for the torque and exhaust note. Also 25 mpg which is a game changer for a daily driver
Did they have an IS version of other beamers? I don't think I've seen one besides the 335
Eric Meyer Yep! The only other one I'm aware of is the 135is
Eric Meyer 135is has a n55 tho which doesn't make as much power as a n54.
Simply Car Things z4sDrive35is as well...has the N54T like the 335is.
I have a 94 325is coupe manual in arctic grey metallic
I bought mine 5 years ago for 27k w 22k miles. it looks like they are still hovering around the same price as 5 years ago for a sub 30k mile mint example if you can find one. I still love my car to this day. It's a special car for sure.
Congrats on the buy man, I’m in the market for one at the moment and wanted to ask how the maintenance has been for you?
i just got the 335is so im pretty happy
Congrats. They kind of rare these days. One of the few cars bmw exclusively offered for the north American market only. There are only aprox 3500 coupes in the entire world lol.
@boostbrigade so iv had my car for a few months an iv fixed quite a bit of shit cause it was used, idk why but every once ina while ill get oil in my spark plug chambers, ill clean them an theyll stay dry for weeks? Then outta no where theres oil in my chambers again? O-ring seal? Idk lmao plz help if you may know something man
That thumbnail pic? Any links?
Just bought a convertible one with only 14k miles for 25000. Do happy with it
why not got for a dinan stage 1/2 tuned 335? seen them for sub 18,000k here in Canada. subbed!
AJ EK Thanks man!! Yea the Dinan tuned cars are great as well! Another alternative indeed
A few reasons why I didn't opt for the 335i and went for the non-turbo models instead:
- cost
- reliability (maintenance costs)
- I live in a hot climate and do want the additional heat problems
- the 335i in Australia only came with a Satnav system which I didnt want
- I prefer naturally aspirated motors (sound, responsiveness, higher redline)
scanspeak00 those are all valid reasons. I used to own an E92 328i and i loved it. It was reliable, quick, and 6spd. Great car
I used to drive 328xi for a year never had problem only change oil. and I decided to trade into 335is DCT white and red interior, and it has 24k miles plus remus exhaust, carbon wing , carbon dual diffuser , dci, cp and bov for 32k, after 2weeks of driving I return the car from the dealer I feel like 32k is way out of my budget.
now I end up with 2011 335i automatic with 60k miles for 20k 2months ago and Im not happy with auto transmission, its not fun at all. its not same as DCT. I'm planning to trade in the future into 335is with manual or DCT. Since I put down 3k Should I keep the car or trade into 335is?
Jose ph I would keep the car. You can flash the transmission to shift much faster than in stock form. Look into the xhp or alpina transmission flash for bmw 335i
The Alpina Transmission Flash still able to run with jb4 or cobb accessport?
Jose ph from my knowledge yes
hi im looking to buy my first car, preferably a manual. early 5th gen 3series. i dont want the 335i. i jjust want the basic performance straight 6. i can drive stick. whats the max miles youd buy? and how high if people do the regular maintence. in canada a early 325i with 125k miles for 5-8. and the higher the price the lower the mile count. what would be to high.
Kent Bremner yea 120k miles isnt bad at all if its been maintained well! I personally would probly try to get sometthing w/ no more than 130k miles
is their anything i should look for when buying one? how high do you think i could get out of it?
Service records. try to look for one that has replaced the water pumps and thermostat. Make sure there is no rust. No oil leak(pretty expensive to fix)
What about the 2015+ wrx with the new FA motor ? It's slightly less power yes but you get a newer car and much more reliability.
Its all up to your preference. But I would make the argument that a WRX does not have the same driving quality and feel as an E9X BMW, nor does it make nearly as much power. But its a subjective answer
Found a CPO 2013 335is about 2 weeks ago and purchased it. Never owned a BMW before but this car is fantastic !!
This is not a car for "posers". If you love to drive this is a great car to drive.
James Clifford definitely must be a wonderful car to own!
Great comment. The car is definitely not for posers. In fact one of the main comments you find here and other places is "nobody will notice it, for close to the same money get the M3 instead and it will turn heads." Don't get me wrong the M3 is great and in fact I would love to have one to track. But the 335is is a better DD and if the reason you want an M3 is to get noticed around town, then...
James Clifford exactly. A lot of people just want attention and that's not with driving is about
I agree, the way it drives makes you feel like you're one with the car. I fell in love instantly with mine after the first drive.
James Clifford don't kid yourself. The 335 is not a car for the driving purist. It's a pig. And the fact that 335 lovers think otherwise shows their lack of knowledge and experience. The car is nice, fast in a straight line, and stylish, but if you indeed cherish the driving experience you need to buy a Porsche.
I have a 2012 335is with DCT and found the "kick down" irritating. Flooring it at highway speeds would cause the transmission to down shift too far and rev to the moon instead of finding the N54's sweet spot which is 4,000-6,000, so I mounted a throttle block (a thin piece of plastic under the accelerator pedal) that prevents the last 1/4" of throttle travel and now it down shifts right into the power band! These are high 12 second cars with very simple mods and as the video states, most very were highly optioned cars. Many 335is' are just now coming available off lease - a good time to snatch one up.
Thats very smart what you did there! I find the kick down switch annoying as well as the power dies beyond 6500 RPM
Yep, I forgot to mention, I always shift at 6,000 rpms. My dyno run showed no increase in hp above 6K.
im saving up for a 2011-2012 m3 my pops has a 2011 335is I was wondering would I be better off getting a 335is myself
Darrion Bell its all about your preference. 335 makes power down low and a but better for dailying, M3 makes a lot of power up top
i feel you. preciatte the feedback bro
Darrion Bell no problem man
All that and it has a grey roof liner?
What is your intro song in this vid?
Are they reliable tho?
Gotta admit that I personally think that spending 25k on a 335is is a bit too much considering u can get a normal 335 for around half of the price and with 2k of mods , it can be more powerful , even though the options and equipements aren't the same but still. If I had 25k , I'd easily go with an M car such as the E46/E92 M3 or even an E39/E60 M5 but that's just me
BMW E46 Thats a fair statement to make and I definitely see where youre coming from, but for around $25k remember you can get a 335is w/ around 25-35000 miles on it, which is really low. An M-car for that price is going to have high miles and most likely seen better days
Both cars tuned the IS outperforms due to DCT, and better cooing with the additional oil cooler and auxiliary radiator.
Johndoe2509 Are you running a JB4? I want to run mine on my 335, but im worried im gona run into issues
Simply Car Things No I am stock for now until warranty expires. Then going with MHD ots or custom tune along with down pipes and intercooler upgrade.
Johndoe2509 okay nice. I was looking into the MHD as well, the burble tune is so cool. I want downpipes as well but Californias emission standards make it very difficult to run them!
I just bought one dct and I love it
I feel that the 335i was a "parts bin special". A way to use up surplus M54 motors. They could have perfectly acheived the same with the N55 motor. This car sort of fiills the same category of the ZHP 330i from the E46 generation.
What website do you use to upgrade your car?
Dodo Breezy i use a mix of websites. But burgertuning and ecs tuning are good websites to usen
was the 335is available in the US?
I don't think I can recall ever seeing one on the road.
Jordan Johnson Yep! If i'm not mistaken it was actually only produced for the North American region
Jordan Johnson yeah it was check auto trader
I love my 2013 bmw 335is! Got it for a good deal. With only 16k miles. About $30k. Now I am planing on adding some JB4 to it.
Farid S Awesome man glad you like it!! Let me know how you like the JB4 ! I cant wait to install one on mine too!
I'm glad I found your channel. Love Beamers!
Farid S Thanks man! Yea this channel isnt exclusive to Bimmers but theyre my fav cars so i like to make vids on them :)
Unless your's is 6 speed go with MHD. JB4 and DCT have issues.
Would enjoy a bmw CA caravan/meet-up sometime w/the bmw scene while my son & I are there on a father sonRoad trip frm MN n my 335is convertible this spring/summer 2020
can u single turbo this car is it the same engine as a 335i
Yes you can!
nice video bro. i agree with u! the 335is is an amazing car. i want one so bad. hopefully soon ill be able to get the chance maybe to sell my 335i to get the 335is.
ahmad badra thanks man! And yea same, its the only car i'd consider selling my car for 😂
Simply Car Things haha exactly samething i been saying. if i sell my car i have to get the 335is haha
ahmad badra just do it man. you won't regret it. I didnt. I traded my 460whp e90 335i and started over with a 335is but I don't regert it one bit.
Hi, thank you so much for the informative video. I have had a Bmw, let alone a convertible. I stumbled to your video. I then searched for it and found a 2011 335is with Dct transmission. It has the M sport package. It also has AFE intake like the DCI. It looks “new” selling for $25k. It has all the record of maintenance in S Cal. It has been at the dealer for 2 months. A week ago I did a test driving it, wow!!! I have not been able to take my mind off it. The issue keeping me from pulling the trigger is that it has only 6000 miles. That is right, six thousand miles! My question is how the AGE has affected the car assuming the mileage is correct. Thank you.
I needed a 335 is anybody know where I could buy one
You should review the 335D !! I own one and it's a freaking beast !!!
Gemni523 Arthur I would love to if I can get my hands on one! Hard to find them on the road! But i bet theyre torque machines!
Every way better than 335i its fun to have tuned 335d to 400hp and 700Nm with 9L/100km city consumption
is the 335is just any 335 with the sport package or is that different
Nope they are totally different
Ah I see now, I was looking at the 2007-2009 models and they didn't make the IS until later.
What years of the 335is have the N54?
all years have the n54 i believe
I love owning this car but my biggest complaint is the lack of LSD.
look up Quaife LSD. I had mine done in a UK workshop, much more stable under full power (420whp) now.
is the 335is in the United States? I never seen or heard of one before
yes, only in the US in fact
Sold my E46, was getting pricey being a college student, learned so much from it but I've been looking into a 335i and then I heard about the 335is, haven't found one for 25k with less than 40k miles, really want warranty
How much was the cost of ownership for the E46?
Jason Fu Its not that bad, very mechanical, but I bought mine right at the time it really needed maintenance, I saved money doing DIY but the whole cooling system was replaced, pulleys, fuel pump, if you can find one with these done, your set. the engine is bulletproof but always have at least 1k aside for any emergency
There is a really good restaurant in the town where you recorded this video.
Dang man! So many BMW youtubers I watch in one place! Great video btw do you think you'll ever do small DIY type videos? Or do you prefer discussing more?
Mikel Wemblay thanks man! And i will definitely be doing mods/DIY's and stuff and filming those! I like discussing too but I definitely dont want my channel to be entirely based off that!
Simply Car Things sounds good 😊, here's to hoping you hit 1k subs soon! Do you have anything special planned? :p
Mikel Wemblay Thanks man! I dont have anything too crazy in the works, but I do have some cool plans which you guys should be seeing in the near future!
Where did you find the first picture from?
My camera roll
Looking for a 335is....hard to find in my area. Staying hopeful so with any luck I'll be enjoying one of BMW's finest.
MICHAEL HILL Let me know if you get one! And tell me how you like it! Are you looking for a DCT or 6spd manual?
Simply Car Things would like a 6....but I wouldn't be upset with a DCT!
MICHAEL HILL it took me a month to find one and when I went to go look at it..i feel in love and got it. the only problem is that when I was there aleast another 6 buyers called in to buy it too.
MICHAEL HILL what area
for me red interior is a must in a sedan
Does it still have fuel pump problems?
Same fuel pump, same water pump, same engine.
replaced under warranty on most cars
I've been looking at an s5 for a long time but I think the 335is for 25k is a much better deal than an s5 with like 70k. Honestly I'm an Audi guy but damn this is a really good deal. The n54 looks very nice.
Yea man it's a really nice car for the money! But S5's are also a really good choice too
Yeah but for the same price I could have a 550 whp 335i
yeah but like you get a “s” tho
I did! I still have it.
Yours, is a 2011???
In the market to buy a car, my options are lexus is f, bmw 335is, and audi s5 quattro. I need opinions on which car would be best
John Rivera i’d say the 335is but if i were you id test drive all of them and see which one you like!
Simply Car Things thanks for your input! If you don’t mind me asking, hows the maintenance on your 335is? I’ve seen your videos but always wondered what the maintenance was like, how much to put away for an emergency, reliability, etc.
John Rivera thankfully mine has been pretty good! Nothing major. Ive had the valve cover gasket, coolant expansion tank, and upper radiator hose replaced. I’d save away like $2k for repairs and stuff. But for the most part mine has been great to me
Simply Car Things all of it sounds good man! And also for after market parts to improve performance, how much would you say I would need to put away for tuning? What kind of parts would you recommend to make the most of this machine? It would be my first bmw, but I’ve driven some before and loved the feel.
John Rivera Hmm, i’d say $700-800 and you can probly squeeze out another +100hp easily! Mhd tune, intakes, catless downpipes! And you’ll have a rocket ship
What's the bumper and side skirts in the thumbnail?
rafael gabaldon i believe they are the factory m-sport ones. The front bumper has a lip and i think the sideskirt does too
Simply Car Things thanks man, keep up the great work!
rafael gabaldon no problem man! And thank you!
rafael gabaldon I have the same car and yeah those come factory except for the lips that were added on and omg those wheels are beautiful.
Been seeing these for around 15k
yea theyre a bargain rn
Yea but with 120k miles
Xavier Alvarez and multiple issues
With a ton of miles, sure.
Found one for 16k with 76k miles a clean one owner
