That snorting is awesome. Favourite part of hunting is seeing how the animals behave and how you either beat it or lose to it. Great stuff

Hey Ted. Everyone that's hunted for any length of time has missed like that!!! I can't count how many times I have in my 57 yrs of life! It's good too see you guys just laugh it off and joke about it! Those are the most memorable moments to cherish anyway. Besides, it makes for great hunting stories too tell your grandchildren one day!😁

Two things I noticed. In the slow-mo of the shot, it really looks like Ted flinched. The other thing I noticed immediately the first time through watching the shot was it sounded like the arrow hit multiple items. Wondering if there was a deflection off of a branch. I've been there and done that and know how it feels...only never on a buck that big. Looking forward to tomorrow's video.
The Budget Sportsman saw the same thing in slow mo. Flinched before release and did sound/look like it may have deflected.

I shot one above the spine this year at 8 yards. I've seen the deer on camera many times since. It happens. But if you watch the replay of this shot it looks like something was on that branch. If the arrow contacted that branch it's off target. It's hard to feel that arrow up against something till it pushes up against the frame of the whisker biscuit. But look at 8:59 right before the shot. Still a great video. Always something to learn in every hunt.
Have you guys ever thought of putting on seminars in the off season regarding your public land hunts? Things like what to look for when scouting and etc. Heck I'd pay for that information. Love your vids. I never miss one. My wife, who is not a hunter, enjoys them as well.
I think it hit a limb or vine that was close to you. I missed a 170 class buck on thanksgiving day 2010 after calling him in with the can call. He was no further than 10 yards from me!! 🤷🏻♂️ I was on the ground and on my knees he caught me by surprise but I had plenty of time to take the shot. All the deer I’ve ever missed were at close range and while I was hunting on the ground, I think it changes the way you hold your bow vs being in a tree stand. I’ve learned to practice shooting from the ground prior to hunting from the ground with my bow. It sounds simple or like an excuse but it’s a totally different style of shooting tree stand/ground. That was a beautiful buck, you boys are good!! Good luck 👍🏻🍀

I missed a big one this year to. Now we are in the start of the secondary rut here in NE Washington state. This public land hunting is tough. Hunting the edge of clearcut now as I just moved my stand yesterday out of the timber. Great video guys...wow that's way awesome hunting from the ground..love how you guys get after these deer. I need to learn this myself...thanks for another great video THP.

Happens to the best all the time. That’s what keeps us coming back to do it and that feeling when u see a big one closing the distance on you can’t compare it to anything. It’s crazy no matter how many times you do it u always get that feeling when you know your going to get a shot. Shake it off be several more opportunities Ted.

I missed a giant the other day. It's going to take me a while to shake that one off. Buck of a lifetime. I was in his bubble and had time. They were bedded and I walked in and the doe bolted. He stood up looking for whatever made her bust out. I should have snort wheezed him in out of the tall grass. Wish I could have that one back. Live and learn. You guys have definitely shown me that they give you more time than you think. I need to be more patient and confident, and take control of the situation. Your video helped me a lot, thanks for sharing.
It happens to the best of us! I have had several that size in bow range and couldn't seal the deal. I shot over a buck one morning about that size. I thought he was 30 yards and he was 20. I bet that broadhead is still buried in the cedar tree. Can't wait to see tomorrow's video. That was an awesome video, even if you did miss!
That shot will keep me up at night... but those SCREAMS will give me nightmares!!

Definitely torqued the bow. I suffered with that for years. Had to switch releases to get a surprise release.

By the looks of it you jerked to the left to see where you hit, I did the same thing when I was 15 and completely missed in front of a nice buck at 10 yards. Make sure you focus on the follow through, awesome video guys!

Main camera frame when you shot a twig moved I believe your arrow deflected, but that’s why they call it hunting and not killing😜something tells me one of those bucks in the beginning of the video is is him and you got your redemption!
What happened is when bow hunting the deer hears the blow before the arrow makes contact you have to do the call to make them stop and look then fire your shot if not the deer jerks down and in most cases makes the arrow fly over him... hope it helps!

All you did man was drop your bow, meaning not following through dropping your bow to watch the shot. Definite miss everytime till you get it cleaned up Brother, still a damn fine hunt though freakin awesome how he came in! Best hunting channel on UA-cam hands down, God Bless Brother's!!!
