In this world of powder metallurgy and exotic materials, there is something to be said for a classic, purely utilitarian, simple but well done knife like these. Cheap, no nonsense, very good at their job and in their own right, beautiful!
Haha i love harvesting hardware from stuff! 😆 These are great little knives, keep a pair of Opinels in my lunch box, a carbon No8 and a stainless No8 Vegetable knife. Super handy. Joker knives are a great brand too, theyve got the quality/price/design ratio nailed in their bushcraft knives, been keeping an eye on them for quite a few years now and they keep getting even better. Their leather, handle materials and blade steels are excellent 👍👍
That’s good stuff! I got the joker Nessmuk for Christmas and I’ve dressed a few hides with it already. It’s a GREAT game knife! For sure they make an awesome knife for the money
@urbanlumberjack haha! We have the same taste! That's the one I was eyeballing! I promised my wife I wouldn't buy myself anything else till after Christmas so I will wait. I can see a lot of these knives in my collection! Thanks again for the video! This is why I love youtube!
I use my opinel for cutting on myself. If I have skin that needs to be cut off or need to dig in to get a splinter out and it requires precision, you want a sharp nimble knife like that. Few other knives are qualified for that task.
I've been nerding out over slipjoint knives lately. They seem so traditional and elegant. Really liking the Joker in white oak too though. Seems to have a nicer shaped handle, plus I prefer the clip point.
It would depend on what you split. The FE6 is a firefighting ax so it’s a little more expensive than a dedicated splitter. I think I paid about half that shipped for council’s old number seven. There’s a lot of crossover between the two axes, can’t go wrong with either one, and I’m happy I own both. But if price is very important, I’d go with the old number seven all day.

Never herd of joker knives before now and now i need one. Haha!
I know right! They’re so cool, I put their Nessmuk on my Christmas list so we will see if Santa comes through
@urbanlumberjack i was eyeballing that one as well!
They have one in a stag handle that looks SUPER nice. Same steel as the mora garberg, if Santa doesn’t come through I’ll pick that one up

For sure!

Absolutely, it’s a scalpel. So Sharp.

Slip joints are awesome! I like them a lot too. Wild to think this is basically the knife people would have used all over 500 years ago
Thanks for the video. I wasn't familiar with Joker knives previously. Its hard to beat the cutting performance of the Opinel's.
The opinels are awesome! I’m liking Joker too from what I’ve used
Omgosh yeah! I push cut my finger the other day with a mora. It sucked.
The Mora got me bad once too. I was using the chisel tip on something and grabbed the knife edge like a dummy 😂
Bro the council tool fe6 is 135 bucks where i'm at do u think its worth that
