    Welcome to Japan! I'm so happy to see you enjoying your trip here! I was born and grew up here so there were many things I didn't notice because it was just normal for me in this video! I think I will find something like that when I go to Brisbane and I can't wait what the difference is gonna be! Thank you for making such a nice video and I'll enjoy the rest of your videos in Japan😆

    ❤that was absolutely lovely 😊. Thankyou both for all the amazing information about Japan. I have always wanted to go to Japan. I loved the bamboo walk. Did it whisper? I used to work with a lovely Japanese girl, Tomoko, she was exactly as you said. Very respectful, honest and clean. I watch alot of UA-cam videos about the tiny water village life. So peaceful 💗. I can't wait to see the rest of your holiday 😊.

      Hi Carol 🤗 Japan really is a beautiful country. It was incredible standing in the bamboo forest, we’ve never seen anything like that before…..we didn’t hear them whisper, but we do remember it being very still and quiet. It was a hot day but the bamboo kept us cool 🤗

    Lovely to see you in Japan Beth and Paul. . I have a Japanese pen pal that I have been writing to since I was 16 and she was 18. . I am now 70 and she is 72 and we still communicate. She is from Matsuyama and has been to Australia to see me a few years back…a lovely gracious lady. One of her sons has also visited us . We still communicate today and have never missed sending each other a birthday present or Xmas present . Our son went to Japan to visit and stay with her family a few years ago. He had a great time.. Lovely gracious people. Thankyou for sharing. ❤️❤️

      Wow, that’s incredible, a life-long pen pal! I (Beth) also had a Japanese pen pal from when I was in Grade 6 at primary school until I was about 18. We also used to write to each other regularly and send little gifts. That’s amazing that you have continued for all these years!!! Wow, that’s a great story and yes, they are such lovely, gracious people ❤️

    Thanks very much for another delightful video.I had the same experience with respect to the people, the culture, and the place on a brief visit to the country in 2016. It would be wonderful to see a follow up video of the your visit that focused on the actual places you visited and the people interactions--if it can be done while protecting the privacy of all the people involved.Just a thought. I look forward to hearing about your next adventure. Best!

    I haven't looked at the eye contact from your point of view and I think it is true. Regarding the driving and traffic, if you give way to another car, they will turn on their hazard lights for a few seconds just to say thank you. Most time, when they stop at a stop sign/light at night, they will turn off their headlights but leave their parking lights on so they don't blind the person in front of them or cars from the opposite side of the road. 10:40 did you say in Japanese oishii (delicious)??

    • @BethandPaultravel
      @BethandPaultravel  Рік тому

      Hi @ducsue751 🤗 wow! We didn’t know that about the traffic! Ha ha, yes…oishi was a word we used ALOT in Japan ❤️

    Donna and I were really missing your video adventures all these weeks. What a treat to see you back... and what a return!
    For us, the topic is especially interesting, as our son Michael is about 1/2 way through 3 months in Japan! He is taking a 1/2 time course in Japanese (just for his own interest) and working remotely 1/2 time (by taking a 1/2 time work leave). He explores as much as he can on weekends and is using some of his vacation time. Mostly he gets to the more distant places by bullet trains when available. He also really enjoys the Japanese culture, people, scenery etc. It certainly is hot and humid there right now though... but that is when the course was taking place.
    Great to see you back, and so extra good that you could be there with the family.
    Cheers from D&D

    • @BethandPaultravel
      @BethandPaultravel  Рік тому

      Hi David and Donna 🤗🤗 Wow, Michael must be having the best time! We bought a JR pass which gave us unlimited rides on the bullet train and those trains are not only incredibly fast but also impeccably clean and comfortable (and always on time)! That’s great that he can work and take leave on the same trip, we can imagine that he’ll learn a lot of Japanese whilst he’s living there. Say hi from us and tell him that our most-used word was ‘Oishi!’ 😃

      @@BethandPaultravel .. and as for your "honest and helpful" comments... he lost his rail pass, so he told the station master at a next station. The station master phoned the station where Michael thought he might have lost it... and you guessed it... it had been turned in, so Michael was able to go back and retrieve it.
      We are also constantly surprised by the reasonably low prices he reports of so many things there.
      Right now he is "riding out" some effects of the typhoon.

    • @BethandPaultravel
      @BethandPaultravel  Рік тому

      That’s great to hear about his rail pass 🤗 and yes, we’ve been watching the weather since our return, it looks like the typhoon is bringing plenty of rain with it. We didn’t get any rain when we were there, but it was very hot and humid.
