Nice overview of the pack! I picked one up two weeks ago for day hikes but have been amazed at the load space. I can get all of my overnight gear inside, including food and water, enough for 2 - 3 days. The pack sits comfortably and all the included features are well thought out! ATB, Dave

I agree - the best on-line video review I have read. Nothing at all missed out. Personally I just added a separate Osprey raincover which weighs nothing to stow in the bottom. This pack is truly light and very very comfortable. Best I have bought in the last 30(plus) years. Perfect for day segments of UK or overseas trails.

I used Talon 33 during my recent hike in Patagonia. It was drizzling quite a bit and the bag got wet. I don’t think it is waterproof at all, likely water resistant. The Tempest only came in size S/M which was too short and very tight around the waist/hips. So I had to get the Talon 33 in M/L which was about an inch too long as I am only 5 ft 4 in. Osprey was kind enough to fashion a longer hip belt for me in case the layering causes the supplied hip belt to be too tight. It is quite challenging to get a woman’s backpack that fits larger size and average height female. Any recommendations.

I plan on doing the 10 day tour du Mont Blanc and staying in mountain huts so I only need to bring clothes en essentials. Do you think this backpack will have enough space for that purpose?

Great review, thank you. I'm looking for a new day pack and as Paul Messner uses one, I might get one too. How much is it and how do I measure my back?

Thank you for a useful review Paul. I have a question. I believe that your trusty lock knife, given that it’s a lock knife is illegal(!!!) thanks to our nanny state and a handful of thugs! Is that true or do hikers/mountaineers get exceptions?

How does this Talon 33 compare to the newer Talon 33? should I save £60 and buy the older model or is the newer worth it?

Hello, do you know, what is the Dimensions of the pack? is it suitable for carryon? or would the Stratos 24 be better?
