@Adam McMillin While I'm sure you have found a solution by now, this may help the next person. I couldn't use the stock hip belt straps on my talon 33 (strange as the ones on my talon 22 fit fine with about 2" of excess strap per side). I instead bought some 1" webbing and new clip and replaced the stock strap. Works perfect now

Nice packing job! Love my osprey hydration pack, I use my sawyer to direct fill without having to take out. So handy. Will have to rewatch this a few times.
Nice one mate, I do a very similar set up with the talon 44, and I’d definitely recommend putting water in the bladder and placing it in the pack first because it’s a sod trying to do it after 😂 Thanks for sharing Atb Mark
Thanks fellas. To be honest I don't usually use a bladder and it only arrived shortly before filming. I'll be sure to fill it up before packing the rest of my equipment in the back pack. Thanks for watching
I have the talon 33 too and was wondering/worrying if it'd be big enough for an overnight camp but I'm glad I've seen this video you've saved me a few quid Paul, cheers!
Just watched this to help me organise my packing better as I often take too much & pack in chaos. Happy to say that except for trowel, pillow & sawyer filter I've been able to pack all my other summer essentials into a 25l bag, with room for these extras to fit into it still once I've got them. I've also got a 32l bag for cooler nights allowing for carrying a warmer sleep bag. Thanks for putting this video together, very useful.
Awesome Paul, after watch your and many other UA-camrs I'm starting to rethink how to pack my backpack better. I still have a long way to achieve that light or ultralight kit! Well done, thank you 💪
It doesn't matter how much the pack weighs as long as you're happy carrying the weight. Gear nice to have getting out and enjoying the outdoors is the main thing
I still use my deuter Speed lite 30l I have had that rucksack since 2014 and it has served me well. It's amazing what I can fit in that pack. Happy camping to you and Jo.
Cracking video again Paul, it always amazes me what you can fit in your packs, Morrison’s Picnic ? 4 for a quid 😂😂😂 looking forward to the next adventure mate. Atb Tony

Good videos and only came across the channel recently. Hiwever, you have 3 water carriers all empty, so your going to be adding 3kg (2l bladder and 2x 500ml bottles?) to the packed weight.
I'm a new subscriber and have been watching several of your videos. Nice job on the camps and gear videos, your presentation skills are top shelf! All the best, Gordon
I use the same water system, put the magnet clip near the clip on your chest strap, and have the tube go the other way (your right hand side), and through the loops on the way down, so that it's out of your way and not loose. That way it follows your chest strap, whether it's clipped in place or not. I find that to be my preference anyway. :)
Dear PM. Its good seeing you. Your on point with that get up you got. How are you? Please may I take a moment of your time to thank you for displaying whats hot whats not for a quicky overnighter. Always good to see some grub getting knocked up. Not like you to not pack a few tinnys mind? Goodbye from Craig Lee White. Cornwall. UK.
I’ve not been backpacking for years Paul so just sorting out some modern kit. Interested to know why you use the alcohol stove over a gas stove , say a rocket burner which is pretty light? I remember I stopped using one as they messed up my pans and I had a leak once which left all my kit stinking of fuel. I liked the speed of gas, especially when it’s cold. So just a thought, perhaps in kit reviews or load outs, perhaps explain why one tent over another, or one jacket over another, as it helps understand the logic of why you’ve taken it. Sorry, as an ex soldier I like to know the details. Loving all your videos tho, better than 99.9% on the tv and certainly relaxing after a day at work! Thanks

Osprey do great packs . If u can keep your weight for the three main items of backpack , sleeping bag /quilt and tent as close to 3kg or under that's a great start , the stuff will also be smaller and fit on in your pack easier:) often some great deals on ebay especially for tents ⛺ :)
@@Foxtrottangoabc thanks for the tip! The Talon 44 arrived yesterday and I'm very happy with it. I gave it a test run on a walk before work this morning, just stuffed it full of stuff including my Talon 11 and Syncro 20! 😁
Cheers Peter. I am careful and wary of that. After testing the bladder this week I don't think I'll be using it anyway. The taste isn't quite right for me.
Nicely done Paul, I used a Talon 33 for years for one nighters, no problem at all. Replace the water bottles with cleaned out 500ml Coke bottles, same thread as the Sawyers filter then use the filter like a straw, can even ditch the squeeze bag. The water bladder is decent, I've got one of them too. 👍🏼
You should have the stove and the food closer to the top of the main compartment unless you vant to draw out the other stuff from above. Unless you plan to set up camp and then eat. Also the snack could be available closer for easy access during your walk.
I've been using this same pack for wild camping and its surprising how much gear you can fit inside it, its a great backpack. I'm getting tempted to use it for west Highland way might just be big enough.
I was expecting to see all sorts hanging off that pack, but nope, fitted quite well. Can you get any water in the bladder with the pack that full? I don't use mine much anymore as it eats up so much pack space. However.... another magnet :O

Uncanny! I pack my Osprey putting the same things in almost exactly the same places, even using a schnozzle for a liner! A good vid, my only observation being that packing the tent internally may not be such a good idea if it is wet, so I strap mine onto the outside. Same applies to my waterproofs or cape.
I just bought this bag yesterday and I was worried about fitting everything, but I don't need to bring a tent or cooking gear so I should be more than okay even with some extra toiletries! I was just wondering why you use a sack liner rather than a rain cover. Thanks for the video!
I have an older model, might be a smaller size but it has a rain cover built in. Does this one not? I tend to use a dry bag inside as well. Great video btw. Cheers.
Sorry, which tent is that? Can you recommend a decent affordable, lightweight tent? Also, the alcohol burner. Is that a Trangia? What are the advantages of a Jetboil system? Thx. Great vid.
Cracking video Paul. Amazing. Are you going to do a video on how you store your gear at home. I am finding my garage is like a mini go outdoors. I have plastic boxes labelled hammock gear, stoves, etc. Plus have laminate cards for gear in each pack. Great video loved it 👍🏻👍🏻

Hope ya don't mind me saying but I hope ya heads is at least a 7 out of 10 as you post this video because we can't expect perfection all the time keep em coming brother. As you go places I haven't had the courage to go yet thanks man your an inspiration 😁
Good job in a small, lightweight kit. I never really noticed before, but most of the main gear looks, for a better phrase, delicate. Much of my gear is a lot thicker, beefier and heavier. How many years does the tent, pad and sleeping bag last? Can you get 5-10 years of 30 days per year out of it, or is this one season and buy new? My current base weight (minus food/water/clothes only) is 22 pounds. I’d like to go lighter, but not at the expense of longevity. Is there a compromise?
Just out of curiosity, how often do you go camping? Love your channel btw, watching your videos made me go out and get some equipment and start myself :D

Nice packing job mate...
Cheer buddy
Just out of curiosity, how often do you go camping? Love your channel btw, watching your videos made me go out and get some equipment and start myself :D
It varies. Sometimes twice a week. Other times I have to wait a month. Glad you like the videos
Nice loadout. Similar to my current set up as I’ve just bought a Tempest 30 which is the women’s version of the Talon 32.
Thanks for watching Meg
Nice video mate!
