- I'm feeling quite a bit better so I decided to get out into the workshop and make something. Today, I'll attempt to make a whistle from two wood dowel scraps (1" oak dowel & 1/2" poplar dowel). I've never tried this before but the design is tried and true. Let's see if I can make it work.

That was a fun little project, glad you on the mend.
Thanks for checking it out. This might be a fun project for you to do with your daughter one day. Super simple but definitely requires adult assistance with those power tools. As always man, I appreciate the support.
Ah another fine project to do with the kids, thanks for sharing Kake and glad your starting to feel better 👍
Yes indeed. I think it would make a great project for kids (provided there was a little supervision on the power tools of course. Thanks for checking it out.
Nice job, I have been build these since I became a boy scout.
Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Thanks for checking it out. This is a tried and true design but I think it would be a fun dad/kid project. Easy peasy.
Not only are they tried and true for whistles made out of dowels but it core idea works for antlers, sticks from the back yard and PVC.@@musicalmiscellany
Fun project! I could see making these with my 3 boys. Then I'd probably immediately regret giving all three of them whistles! Glad to hear you are on the mend from Covid round 3. My middle child has had it 3 times and each time he's not felt as bad and recovered quicker.
Good to hear all around. I was thinking this would be a great project for kids and dads to do together. I will say my covid recovery has gotten quicker each time but still... I don't want it again.
@@musicalmiscellany I hear you on that. I've only had it once and never again would be fine with me!
@@drewjaeger8962 Yeah. The first time was absolutely horrible.
Glad you're feeling better. I just noticed we have a lot of the same tools, drill press, saw, Shnito file, sander. You still need an oscillating multi-tool though.
Thanks for checking out the vid. One of those tools is definitely on my xmas list this year.
