totally agree. i honestly wasn't that big on the first 2 episodes. i thought they were fine i guess(the 2nd being a bit better then the first) but this episode i really enjoyed. certainly was a bummer to see the avengers die but on the other hand, i'm excited now to see where this series is going(because it's obviously all going to be a shared arc).
I remember iron man 2, the incredible hulk, Thor and the ending of Captain America all being dubbed as Fury's busy/big week. Clark Gregg is in iron man 2 telling Tony he's going to where Thor's hammer is.

Yep, I also thought that, also. I personally pegged Crossbones and the other Hydra S.H.I.E.L.D. guys to be the culprits. The giveaway that it was not Hydra, though, was how easily the Hulk was killed. No way it could be any normal bad guy, because if they knew how to kill the Hulk, it'd sure be hard to explain why they never bothered to take him out in the normal continuity.
I really like that this episode still stuck to the “What of one thing changed” formula. This time they just left us to figure it out. Alternate title for the episode: “What if Hope van Dyne became a SHIELD agent”.
I just wish they showed it as a flash back or something. Because even at the end of the episode I was kind of still left wondering if that was the initial change that set everything off or if there was still new information to learn.

I think every episode is a new and unconnected timeline, and in the end The Watcher's gonna reunite them somehow.

When you think about it, it makes sense that Hank Pym was angry at shield for the death of Hope but to make that anger stronger, it’s mentioned for the original yellow jacket from the ant man movie that the Pym particles made him go mad which is also shown with hank pym who is showned with anger and madness although keeping his intelligence the same as usual.
Yeah I mean if you notice his tone of voice, his scraggly facial hair, and the purple shading beneath his eyes, it shows that he’s gone bonkers and broken after the disappearance of his wife along with the death of his daughter.

What we got instead had the classic Studio influence / trying to make a series and not just a single good movie. The key thing about the original Iron Man was it was a self-contained story it only set up a multiple movie franchise implications the very last post credit scene that you could have missed and not Miss some key part of the main movie story. You saw that with the Garfield Spiderman movies, which were so eager to setup multiple franchises I sacrificed everything else including just making a good Standalone film. I'd argue DC had much the same problem.

Well, there is the episode based on 2008’s Iron Man where Killmonger saves Tony from that missile and Don Cheadle is reprising his role in What If so maybe? I found it satisfying seeing Ruffalo as Norton as the recast was such a continuity itch for me.
Samuel L Jackson was great, probably because he’s got voice acting experience with Boondocks and Afro Samurai. He’s also just got a really distinctive and expressive way of talking that translates well to animation
Now we can say that the movie "incredible hulk" was set in an alternative universe. Everything still happened the same way as our universe, except Bruce Banner looked different. Bam, fixed it. What if Bruce Banner looked like Edward Norton rather than Mark Ruffalo? Turns out, not a whole lot different

It was definitely a great episode but half way through I definitely had the idea it could be an ant-man of some sort. Whether it’s Hank Pim, probably not Scott Lang but maybe Scott, or etc
Kinda figured it out when Black Widow visited Betty Ross to examine the needle thingy But still enjoyed the rest of the episode. Especially with what happened to the Hulk & the ending with Loki Solid episode. My favorite so far. Definitely in the minority here but I was underwhelmed with the previous 2

Love this episode, not 100% Hank Pym started murdering purely out of vengeance he probably started working super hard on that new Antman/YellowJacket suit to make sure nothing like what happened to his daughter happened again and then the bonus 2 years of exposure to the Pym particle made him lose his mind like he says in Antman 1. This is probably something most people saw straight away but I didn't so the episode hit different after I "realised" that
5:03 - That's actually a REALLY good assessment. Obviously when I was watching it, I recognized Mark Ruffalo's voice, but didn't think his look quite matched, but that Norton/Ruffalo hybrid totally lines up.
Cap wasn't entirely worthy around Age of Ultron tho, so anything before hat he also wouldn't be. Which also makes me wonder at what point in Civil War/Infinity War did the hammer officially deem him worthy

I think that has to be from a different universe since here Hank still uses the original ant man helmet design for Yellowjacket while in that episode the giant helmet has the look from the ant man movie. I suppose that comes from a universe where Darren Cross experimented on giant man tech

After watching these episodes, I think about what variants are introduced because they may have a bigger part. Episode 1: captain Britain and maybe shuma gorath. 2: T’challa Star Lord and potential evil peter quill. For 3 all I came up with was evil hank pym.

No one seems to remember that Rhodey broke up Tonys drunken birthday party and took the War Machine armor the Sunday night before Tony is nursing his hangover inside the big donut! When Fury started collecting Caps at the end I wanted to see or hear that War Machine would be a suitable Iron Man replacement! Actually thinking back to Iron Man 2 and Fury turning Tony down for the Avenger Initiative why didn’t they just enlist War Machine?
That's always been a bit of contention for me ever since the first Avengers film. Rhodey, the trained fighter pilot with his own souped up Iron Man suit is right there. They really didn't need to ask for Tony, like at all. Though to be fair to this particular episode, he would've still been under the remote control of Whiplash and/or Justin Hammer. So those two might be why he doesn't show up at any point.

By far the best What If & arguably one of Marvel's best works in years! Diverges in an interesting, yet believable way & ties into so much of the lore established over the past decade+ of movies. Especially glad to see a return of Loki as an actual "Avengers-level" threat, the callback to Hulk, & the lore of the Wasp suit not having the proper helmet to prevent the wearer from going insane!
Thor takes place the day after iron man 2 story ends. In the middle of iron man 2 Coulsen says he has a situation in new Mexico he needs to deal with, then at the end of the movie it shows him arriving on scene.
18:30 - I was really happy they kept Hank Pym a secret. It would have just ruined my processing of what was happening in the episode. Of course, when I saw invisible punches getting hit and the exploded syringe, I was like, oh, it's probably Ant Man! Or maybe it's Ghost? They set up the red herring pretty well too with Betty Ross.

It was reeeeeaaaaaally weird seeing the Incredible Hulk with Mark Ruffalo 😵 makes you wonder of we're going to see Don Cheadle in some Iron Man 1 scenes
Well, there is the episode based on 2008’s Iron Man where Killmonger saves Tony from that missile and Don Cheadle is reprising his role in What If so maybe? I found it satisfying seeing Ruffalo as Norton as the recast was such a continuity itch for me.
Samuel L Jackson was great, probably because he’s got voice acting experience with Boondocks and Afro Samurai. He’s also just got a really distinctive and expressive way of talking that translates well to animation

In “Loki” a bunch of Lokis aren’t played by Hiddleston, so universes have different genes or some shit.

These episodes just keep getting MORE & MORE interesting! I think we all though can appreciate Coulson's password AND Black widow's moment of grief then anger after what happened to Clint🙌.

It was definitely a great episode but half way through I definitely had the idea it could be an ant-man of some sort. Whether it’s Hank Pim, probably not Scott Lang but maybe Scott, or etc
Kinda figured it out when Black Widow visited Betty Ross to examine the needle thingy But still enjoyed the rest of the episode. Especially with what happened to the Hulk & the ending with Loki

Hulk went out Violet Beauregarde style. After that scene I thought for sure the murderer was Willy Wonka.
I got spoiled early by Twitter but thankfully the execution was good enough that it took the sting out of knowing the killer beforehand.
I like that it wasn’t just a murder mystery, the what if? scenario was also a mystery, that being Hope dying as a shield agent.
Can't believe Samuel L Jackson was able to convince Marvel to let Fury a purple light saber!
It was really good that I actually thought it was gonna be the Winter Soldier like “What if he were used on the Avengers?”

Love this episode, not 100% Hank Pym started murdering purely out of vengeance he probably started working super hard on that new Antman/YellowJacket suit to make sure nothing like what happened to his daughter happened again and then the bonus 2 years of exposure to the Pym particle made him lose his mind like he says in Antman 1. This is probably something most people saw straight away but I didn't so the episode hit different after I "realised" that

5:03 - That's actually a REALLY good assessment. Obviously when I was watching it, I recognized Mark Ruffalo's voice, but didn't think his look quite matched, but that Norton/Ruffalo hybrid totally lines up.

I think that has to be from a different universe since here Hank still uses the original ant man helmet design for Yellowjacket while in that episode the giant helmet has the look from the ant man movie. I suppose that comes from a universe where Darren Cross experimented on giant man tech

And in Endgame, Antman, and Dr.Strange, they mention a different universe. This is honestly seems more like a fun anthology series same way comics make non cannon stories all the time

After watching these episodes, I think about what variants are introduced because they may have a bigger part. Episode 1: captain Britain and maybe shuma gorath. 2: T’challa Star Lord and potential evil peter quill. For 3 all I came up with was evil hank pym.

Dropping in CM Punk’s return to pro wrestling from last week just made my night. I appreciate bigtime when my pro wrestling fandom gets brought over into my other fandoms.
No one seems to remember that Rhodey broke up Tonys drunken birthday party and took the War Machine armor the Sunday night before Tony is nursing his hangover inside the big donut! When Fury started collecting Caps at the end I wanted to see or hear that War Machine would be a suitable Iron Man replacement! Actually thinking back to Iron Man 2 and Fury turning Tony down for the Avenger Initiative why didn’t they just enlist War Machine?
That's always been a bit of contention for me ever since the first Avengers film.
Rhodey, the trained fighter pilot with his own souped up Iron Man suit is right there. They really didn't need to ask for Tony, like at all.
Though to be fair to this particular episode, he would've still been under the remote control of Whiplash and/or Justin Hammer. So those two might be why he doesn't show up at any point.

By far the best What If & arguably one of Marvel's best works in years! Diverges in an interesting, yet believable way & ties into so much of the lore established over the past decade+ of movies. Especially glad to see a return of Loki as an actual "Avengers-level" threat, the callback to Hulk, & the lore of the Wasp suit not having the proper helmet to prevent the wearer from going insane!
Thor takes place the day after iron man 2 story ends. In the middle of iron man 2 Coulsen says he has a situation in new Mexico he needs to deal with, then at the end of the movie it shows him arriving on scene.
This was my favorite of the three episodes so far. It felt the most like a "What If...?" comic book.

18:30 - I was really happy they kept Hank Pym a secret. It would have just ruined my processing of what was happening in the episode. Of course, when I saw invisible punches getting hit and the exploded syringe, I was like, oh, it's probably Ant Man! Or maybe it's Ghost? They set up the red herring pretty well too with Betty Ross.
