Antman murdering everyone is my favorite: best storytelling, shaping the mystery etc; I don’t think the Thor episode is nearly as bad as a lot people make it out to be because it was a whole helluva lot of fun
fun was obviously their goal...but i just found him to be obnoxious to the point of being annoying. not terribly annoying...i did enjoy the episode, i guess. i just enjoyed it the least. and, i wondered the same thing...why would the watcher recruit such an immature version of thor? i felt they should have taken at least a moment to actually explain...perhaps during the "you picked these guys?" scene? i dunno...
@@OnlyGoodSHHH For me, before I saw the last episode, I thought they were gonna explain it like: The watcher can only go to the universes that he currently visited, because Ultron is now kind of in control of the others, like the watcher has a stronger connection with them... My least favourite episode was definitely the Killmonger one and my favourite was the Dr Strange one, I really enjoyed the Captain Carter one though and don’t really understand why so many people dislike it
I'm just annoyed that Killmonger apparently doesnt need any way to actually aim his rifle. No optic, no iron sights, I guess he just points it in the general direction of the enemy and hopes for the best.
@@aedanmannion And i agree, I also objectively dislike how they decided to handle marvel zombies and leaving a zombie thanos cliff hanging without explanation and zero ramifications, and even more so I’m beginning to dislike the direction thor is going in, and I realise this is a what if animation. His portrayal was too comical, so killmonger is ahead of them as my only dislike is the open ended ending to service the finale and killing Tony again
I really love how this show used comic motifs in the animation, like the Kirby dots, it really heightened the show and make it more visually interesting than most of the movies. Great work by the animation and design team
It is interesting that there appears to be a consensus on Dr Strange being people's favourite episode - it's certainly mine. Least favourite was the Zombies ep. The tonal problems were just too much for me. Not so much Peter (and by extension Scott) because they did establish that they were making jokes to deal with their trauma. But "I'm covered in Sharon" just felt so off.
**Every episode** James: I liked it don’t get me wrong Mason: Me too, and it’s a great idea James: YEAH! But it doesn’t really come together for me 🤦♂️😂🤣
Dr Strange's episodes were great, the animation of his magic and those neon colored demons reminded me of the night creatures from the Castlevania series on Netflix
“Everybody saw that movie just in theaters and then never watched it again!” The fact that I *just* rewatched DOCTOR STRANGE for the first time ever on Disney+ literally this past week (and on accident, I was trying to click on CIVIL WAR) made me do a spit take when James said this
99% sure the tentacles are Shuma-Gorath, fairly sure he’s set to appear in the Multiverse of Madness, also much like Cthulhu, Shuma Gorath tends to induce madness
Eh I think it's probably one of his minions. Shuma makes Doormammu, (who alongside Wanda, Kang, Strange supreme, Ultron Infinity and The watcher is likely the most OP character we've seen so far), look like a chump
@@himum3429 yeah I feel like Shuma is a bit too powerful to showcase in a movie, but I mean, they already did dormammu so I feel like they might want to up the stakes? Oh well all I know is Sam Raimi will make it a great movie
@@-Zoomin40 No your not getting me mate, I agree that Shuma will most definitely be in Multiverse of madness but I think the monster in what if is one of his minions and just a tease for him.
@@92brunod Nevertheless Shuma Gorath is a straight Savage he makes Mephisto and Doormammu look like amateurs. He's nearly as powerful as nightmare and most importantly he's Multiversal, unlike doormammu or Mephisto where there are Loads of variants of them or at least aspects of them in different universes there is only one Shuma across the entire multiverse so if Evil Strange takes some of his tentacles now then he'll be missing some in MOM which kinda makes him less menacing.
How I'd rank it: 9 - Killmonger (was interesting, but the ending was too abrupt) 8 - Zombies (Fun episode, but I'm just not a fan of zombies in general) 7 - Captain Carter (Stuck a little too close to the original) 6 - Starlord T'Challa (Great, just wish it was longer.) 5 - Avengers Mystery (Just a legit solid mystery) 4 - The Watcher's Oath (really fun episode, just wish we had more time for characters to interact) 3 - Ultron Wins 2 - Party Thor (It was incredibly dumb, the stupidest episode... and a ton of fun. Absolutely loved it) 1 - Doctor Strange (Just really dang good) Overall I really enjoyed the show, but I wish every episode was just a bit longer. Some of the conclusions felt rushed, and some of them would've benefited from having a few extra minutes to breath.

Infinite ultron is better. The strange one is right up there, but in general I like watching ultron’a rise to power, and Benedict cumberbatch’s voice acting for this show was sub-par
@Latest Obsession Yeah he does make a point. I do think the series should have been more delayed, for 40 minute episodes would make each episode perfect.
The Thor episode was the only one that knew what it was. All the others tried to be both serious and humorous and they generally took themselves too seriously. The Thor episode knew that it was a fun, animated, 30-minute episode to fuck around with the characters in alternate scenarios. That's why I think it's the only one that really worked for me.
9: Zombies (weird tone, nothing felt important or fulfilled, the most unconnected from film events) 8: Captain Carter (Just Captain America, but with weird little Steve sidekick) 7: Thor (cool fight, but terrible, embarrassing stakes,..... they were trying to KILL Thor, right?) 6: Killmonger (Changed a lot and interesting concept, but unfulfilling) 5: T'challa (Fun romp/ heist, cool change of character for Starlord, but why do Thanos like that?) 4: Mightiest heroes lost (good murder mystery, nice straightforward changes, and cool ending) 3: The Watcher (most heroes unnecessary except Doctor Strange, enjoyable fight nonetheless) 2: Doctor Strange (great story, fight, time loop, and ending, but not believable that he'd do it for love) 1: Ultron (Fun seeing Ultron Win, destroying everything, feeling purposeless, finding Watcher, etc)
Best part was Uatu's flip out: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! That needs to be the new meme. Also Killmonger is a Villain Sue (villain version of a Mary/Gary Stu, those do exist). The writing has to dumb everyone down to make his plans happen at all. Tony Stark should have been in the final battle since in the main, live action earth Tony did create Ultron. Having an alternative Tony react to another universe version of himself made a murder bot would have been a shock to the system for him. That was a big missed opportunity.
@Jon Valler His resume sounds ridiculous too. Which is amazing considering all the other things people are capable of in the MCU. There was no way the Wakandians should have trusted Eric, regardless of killing Claue or his tattoo. First thing he does is almost burn everything down when he became king!
@Jon Valler ...All he did was just save Tony, out Obidiah, gained Ross and Tony's trust, also gained the trust of Wakanda through scheming, I don't agree with the statement that he's a Villain Sue, he's by nature backstabbing and uses his charisma to fool you. Does everyone with charisma become a Sue?
I don't really have any notes on the ranking, because it all seems reasonable to me, but also I think Captain Carter is my favorite character and the one I most want to see going forward. Captain Carter vs. Winter Steve Stomper Rodgers is such a great setup for an episode. Just give her an ongoing comic book already.
The Party Thor and Star Lord episodes are my favorite because they make good use of the fun guest characters and they're the least serious. Because the writing in What If in general doesn't seem good enough to properly pull off serious storylines (also the truncated episode lengths). The whole thing feels a bit "Saturday morning cartoon" to me. It's almost like because it's animated they felt they had to make it a bit more appealing to/appropriate for children, which isn't a bad thing, but it does sorta limit how invested I can get.
I liked What if Earth lost its mightiest heroes because if you've been watching the MCU movies as they release since 2009, it's easy to forget that some of these characters were always around somewhere doing something. It makes the MCU feel a lot more connected to me seeing phase 3/4 characters active in phase 1.
Definitely T'Challa as Starlord was my favorite. And hearing Chadwick Boseman wanted to bring that energy to the next movie was heartbreaking because he never got to do it.
11:09 - There was a moment where Captain Carter notices the tentacles. When they come out of Strange Supreme's hand and he forces them back in prior to Ultron's arrival, she sees them and asks what happened to him.
IMO; the weakest was zombies, and my favourites where Killmongers, Stranges, Party Thor and Captain Carter. I’ll admit Carter is there because I’m a sucker for pulp adventure flics.
6:15 the reason the criticism is there (for me) is because even in his timeline he couldn’t even convince Killmonger to step outside of his mindset so you want me to believe the much older set in his ways character, Thanos, who killed his daughter for his convictions was convinced by THIS guy, with even less experience in life, to stop his ways. This is also the same T’challa who with a Wakandan army couldn’t stop Thanos’s forces out right. Like T’challa is a great leader, but this episode makes him a Gary Stu when he wasn’t that before
At number one is Maso's impression of The Watcher calling into is supervisor to let him know he broke his oath. "Uh, I mess up here real bad man. I said I wasn't going to interfere but then I leaned in a little too close and they could hear me."
I am just happy you have your number one where you have it. Totally agree. Only two episodes really capture the spirit of the What if comics. The rest is basically things that might have happened outside of that series with the Watcher.
Half the episodes, including the finale, just felt like they were jamming in references for the sake of it, without any consistency. 9) Captain Carter 8) T’Challa Star Lord 7) Party Thor 6) Finale 5) Killmonger 4) Zombies 3) Avengers Murders 2) Ultron and Hawkeye 1) Doctor Strange
I think if the episode had focused on stark and not killmonger it would have been stronger Like if the episode was titled what if stark never learned his lesson and it was more about killmonger manipulating him more subtly into making worse and worse decisions or something similar
Completely agree with the order lol and as soon as I was thinking wait there were 9 episodes, you guys came in and said *you're probably thinking...* That was perfect..
I don’t get why people don’t like that episode that much, sure it’s not groundbreaking but it’s nice to see an episode that more light in tone after we watched stuff like all of The Avengers dying and Dr. Strange destroying the entire universe

Ah yes my favorite show, *WHAT* Edit: Okay they fixed it in the title, here’s my list 9. What If Ultron won? 8. What if Dr. Strange lose his heart instead of his hands? 7. What if Peggy became Captain Carter? 6. What if T’Challa was Star Lord? 5. What if the Avengers all died? 4. What if Zombies! 3. What if The Watcher broke his oath 2. What if Killmonger won? 1. What if Thor was an only child?
The literal crux of Spiderman is that he deals with tragedy using humor, his parents and Uncle were murdered well before Zombies ever happened, was he supposed to be a depressed little baby, cuz that would be out of character.
"Have some bracky" That's a really cute way to say breakfast, I'm using that now 😆 Edit: I agree with most of the list, except I'd put Killmonger at the bottom, the Zombies a bit higher and the T'Challa episode is my number 1, I love it sm
Even though there's lack luster stuff in what if, and it didn't go as crazy as I wanted for every concept. The final 2 episodes are everything I wanted out of this series. That's a fully realized MCU Ultron, and its glorious.
Alright, since you asked at the end. I think that this show has some bad writing overall 1. Avengers Murder Mystery: The BEST in my humble opinion. It made perfect sense considering Hank Pym’s opinion of the Avengers in Ant-Man and how he could efficiently execute them systematically if he so pleased. Showed how unstoppable Ant-Man could be if he tried. Good developments and it was viable considering that it’s confirmed that all the movies it pulls from occurred in the space of a week. Not to mention it’s memorable ending of take over but a possibility at fighting back with a still unfrozen Captain America and Captain Marvel. Overall, it’s a chef’s kiss episode 2. Killmonger saves Tony Stark: Liked this one a lot. It’s viable, the chain effect makes sense and it unravels rather interestingly. I liked Killmonger’s dynamic with Tony and the episode just proved how much of a downright evil person Killmonger is. Every revelation and death made me like it even more, how badly the universe devolves from one minuscule change 3. Ultron wins: I both really like and don’t like this episode. It gives good Ultron representation, I as an Ultron fan was pleased to see him tear ass through the universe but there were SOOOOO many writing issues that brought me out of it. How did Hawkeye and Black Widow survive in an irradiated wasteland? Why did Ultron go the long way to exterminate all life instead of just doing it from the get go with one definitive snap? How did the Infinity Stones work outside their home universe? This one got an answer but said answer is also stupid so I won’t even acknowledge it. It was just perfectly balanced with the stuff I liked and didn’t like, as all things shouldn’t be 4. Party Thor: Ok, fun but it made me constantly question why characters were there. The idea doesn’t make sense because even in the MCU, Thor is a rambunctious and cocky punk after growing up with Loki. The concept should’ve been what if Thor was a party animal which, as a Norse God, he practically already is. Action is fun and there’s some neat interactions but that’s it 5. Guardians of the Multi-verse: Average. Characters quickly accept this mind boggling situation and get to it. Their chemistry doesn’t feel earned because the team interacts so little and the assortment is random at best. Strange Supreme does all the work and is the best on this team but the rest feel like dead weight. Killmonger doesn’t contribute at all to the victory aside from attacking Ultron a little and he ultimately betrays the team. The Watcher should’ve had the foresight to keep him off given that he watched the events of Killmonger’s universe unravel prior. Black Panther Star-Lord, Captain Carter and even Party Thor felt so useless on this team and I had to remind myself it was a Tv show in order not to say ‘why didn’t the Watcher enlist those guys from the comics? They’d pretty easily solve this.’ It did conclude the other plot threads from the other episodes neatly so I’ll give it that 6. Strange Supreme: It’s just the time machine. Dudes fiancé dies so they find means to go back in time but are unable to circumvent it causing said fiancé to die continuously. It’s interesting visually and Strange Supreme is very charismatic and fun to see on screen, no doubt due to his performance. However it introduces more inane rules that conflict with other MCU rules. Splitting timelines but keeping them in the same universe and absolute points in time are garbage ideas and I despise them. It’s fun but not great, far from it 7. Marvel Zombies: Terrible tonal consistency to what makes this episode lesser. It couldn’t balance darker themes with its comedic elements and that really hampered any effect it could’ve had. There was a neat scene or two but it was by all means average, I appreciate it way more though for the FIRST UNCLE BEN MENTION! JESUS, the MCU treats it like it’s the plague and feigned it for so long that a god damn animated spin-off beat them to it 8. Captain Carter: Bad. It’s not terrible but it’s a beat for beat retelling of First Avenger with minor variables rearranged. I don’t like how Howard Stark made the Hydra Stomper, didn’t really make sense to me due to the setting. If he had the Tesseract, why not implement into standard warfare like Hydra did in the main timeline? It also feels like the Hydra Stomper would be very susceptible to regular artillery, even with the power source. It had some nice action but the ending bogs it down for me because in the span of ten seconds this woman from the forties just up and accepts that she’s been whisked decades into the future. First Avenger’s ending is so iconic because you can say the confusion on Steve as he struggles to understand the world around him before making a remark that stuck with him out of disbelief. Milk toast man, it isn’t that special of an idea 9. Blank Panther as Star-Lord: The worst by far for me. Respect to Chadwick for giving a good performance but I despise this episode. T’challa is an utter Mary Sue that just solves all the problems in the universe by himself and it feels like the story is continually praising him. This is to the point of mocking Peter Quill’s character excessively to the point of saying everything would be objectively better if he wasn’t Star-Lord. As Nando v Movies put it, fuck Peter for bearing trauma over his mother contracting cancer and dad abandoning him at an early age before getting abducted by Yondu who was objectively more aggressive and hostile towards him growing up. It just left a sour taste in my mouth simply put
1.Strange supreme 2.party Thor 3.if ultron won 4.finale 5.zombies 6.t’challa star lord 7.what if the avengers were killed 8.killmonger 9.captain Carter That’s my rank
The show was good fun every week and I enjoyed them all but I think they would have benefited a longer run time, some of them felt rushed, especially the last episode, everyone just coming together is great but it was so quick.

When this series was serious, it was brilliant. When it was cracking jokes, it just felt like it was made for little kids that would only watch Thor if he’s cracking bad jokes every ten seconds
For me it would be: 9: Party Thor 8. Captain Carter 7. Avengers killed 6. Killmonger 5. Zombies 4. Infinity Ultron 3. T'challa Star Lord 2. Strange Supreme 1. Guardians of the Multiverse Thoroughly enjoyed them all though!
If you rank the first Ultron episode separately from the part 2, than What If? Ultron Won? slightly edges out the Dr. Strange. Hawkeyes sacrifice in this episode is one of the most beautiful moments in animation. It got me really excited to see what else they have in store for this new medium
Episode 2, "What if T'Challa became Star-Lord", was the best. A lighter episode but also a complete story, and it wasn't afraid to push the Marvel universe into weird territory. I think the zombies episode was my least favorite, though they probably considered it obligatory since people seem to love the Zombies franchise so much.

What if Killmonger saved Tony Stark was definitely the most compelling for my group watching it. We thought the pacing was actually GREAT, even if not completely sold on the end
I’m gonna admit I didn’t really enjoy this series as a whole. The ending was enjoyable but overall it was pretty poorly paced, and had some weird and unsatisfying arcs. I don’t know if it was due to pressure from producers to just cram stuff in but a lot of the stories clearly didn’t fit properly within half and hour episodes. They should have either cut stuff or made the episodes longer. The only episodes I though were actually, genuinely good was the Dr. Strange episode and the Party Thor episode, even though they’re kind of opposites. They were weld told stories with memorable moments and were pretty well paced. The murder mystery one was by far the worst though.
Party Thor was my favorite. Loads of fun. Dr. Strange was the worst. Its whole premise was garbage: one guy makes a stupid decision and the ENTIRE UNIVERSE IMPLODES. Yeahhh.... no.

it was actually my least favourite
I don't know why everyone loves this one so much.
Dr. Strange eats a bunch of monsters
My least favourite episode was definitely the Killmonger one and my favourite was the Dr Strange one, I really enjoyed the Captain Carter one though and don’t really understand why so many people dislike it
It is a good episode it was just because it is basically just a retelling of the first avenger
I liked that one, and it was one of the episodes that didnt end on a cliffhanger without resolving the main story.
She's just a female knockoff captain america. And the episode was pretty much just a copy of the original movie.
I'm just annoyed that Killmonger apparently doesnt need any way to actually aim his rifle. No optic, no iron sights, I guess he just points it in the general direction of the enemy and hopes for the best.
My ranking would be:
Doctor strange
Ultron won
T'challa as Starlord
Zombies
Avengers dead
Party Thor
Finale
Killmonger
Peggy Carter
RIP Chadwick man
I agree with this comment, your opinion is correct in my opinion.
Ur opinion is almost correct. I would move party thor and finale to 3rd and 4th.
Almost perfect, but I’d put zombies and party thor both below killmonger
@@l.apastore4208 killmonger was not good unfortunately. Really suffered from the shortness of the episode
I've got a feeling that Mason purposely made a title error so he can call out all the pendantic people at the end of the video
*pedantic! XD
sounds like something he would do 😉

My favourite episode was the second last. I could rewatch that Watcher v Ultron fight hundreds of times.
The best one was clearly what if John Krazinski never played Mephisto
I had a great time watching the series but the episodes would've greatly benefited from a longer runtime.
Agreed!
Some/most of em not all
**Every episode**
James: I liked it don’t get me wrong
Mason: Me too, and it’s a great idea
James: YEAH! But it doesn’t really come together for me 🤦♂️😂🤣
James really doesn't like explicitly disliking things much these days.
But... he is operating at 40%
I loved that they murdered Tony Stark like he was bleeping Uncle Ben.
Then murdered him again by cancelling the one episode where he survives! lol
i hope they keep up this trend in season 2
@@MrMitchellb10 not exactly cancelled. They pushed it to the next seezon
Repeatedly
Dr Strange's episodes were great, the animation of his magic and those neon colored demons reminded me of the night creatures from the Castlevania series on Netflix
“Everybody saw that movie just in theaters and then never watched it again!”
The fact that I *just* rewatched DOCTOR STRANGE for the first time ever on Disney+ literally this past week (and on accident, I was trying to click on CIVIL WAR) made me do a spit take when James said this
i watched that movie repeatedly the most of the mcu i just like the vibe that movie brings, winter soldier is still the best though.
@@himum3429 But remember this Strange is as powerful as Infinity Ultron and he only took SOME of the tentacles of this being.
My personal battle cry from here on.....
"VIVA LAS VEGAS!"
Ultron’s reaction is what made it great
I hated him for that cause it genuinely was not funny lol
How I'd rank it:
9 - Killmonger (was interesting, but the ending was too abrupt)
8 - Zombies (Fun episode, but I'm just not a fan of zombies in general)
7 - Captain Carter (Stuck a little too close to the original)
6 - Starlord T'Challa (Great, just wish it was longer.)
5 - Avengers Mystery (Just a legit solid mystery)
4 - The Watcher's Oath (really fun episode, just wish we had more time for characters to interact)
3 - Ultron Wins
2 - Party Thor (It was incredibly dumb, the stupidest episode... and a ton of fun. Absolutely loved it)
1 - Doctor Strange (Just really dang good)
Overall I really enjoyed the show, but I wish every episode was just a bit longer. Some of the conclusions felt rushed, and some of them would've benefited from having a few extra minutes to breath.
"Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well."
-Benedict Cumberbatch, probably
It’s just a bummer that 2/9 episodes was “What if the main character was replaced by someone else who did everything ten times better”
9: Episode 7: Party Thor (Pros: Loki)(Cons: Unfunny, Cringey, Boring)
8: Episode 9: Ultron Won Part 2 (Pros: Exciting)(Cons: Defeat, Gamora, End)
7: Episode 1: Captain Carter (Pros: Action)(Cons: Boring, Rushed)
6: Episode 6: Kilmonger vs. Tony (Pros: Action)(Cons: Tony Stark, Unfinished)
5: Episode 2: T’Challa as Star Lord (Pros: Fun, Cameos)(Cons: Random)
4: Episode 5: Zombies (Pros: Emotion, Fun)(Cons: Tone)

2: Episode 8: Ultron Won (Pros: Action, Fun, Epic)(Cons: Thanos)

@Latest Obsession Main MCU, I was talking about Earth-199999.
1- What If Doctor Strange lost his heart instead of his hands
2- What If Tchalla became a Star Lord
3- What If the Watcher broke his Oath
4- What If Ultron won
5- What If The World lost it's mightietst heroes
6- What If Thor were an only child
7- What If Kill-Monger rescued Tony Stark
8- What If Captain Carter were the first Avenger
I don't care what your list is as long as Doctor Strange is on top
Zombies?
missed zombies
Infinite ultron is better. The strange one is right up there, but in general I like watching ultron’a rise to power, and Benedict cumberbatch’s voice acting for this show was sub-par
1. Dr. Strange
2. Ultron
3. Guardians of the Multiverse
4. Zombies
5. Party Thor
6. T’challa
7. Murder Mystery
8. Kilmonger
9. Captain Carter
Got to have that EPIC showdown with Gamora and Iron Man killing Thanos. Man, the series wouldn’t have been the same without that one 🤩
Thank God they included that episode since it was super necessary to the finale!
2020 still plagues us to this day. Why can't we be left alone?!
I just wished it wasn’t the 3 third last episode
9: Zombies (weird tone, nothing felt important or fulfilled, the most unconnected from film events)
8: Captain Carter (Just Captain America, but with weird little Steve sidekick)
7: Thor (cool fight, but terrible, embarrassing stakes,..... they were trying to KILL Thor, right?)
6: Killmonger (Changed a lot and interesting concept, but unfulfilling)
5: T'challa (Fun romp/ heist, cool change of character for Starlord, but why do Thanos like that?)
4: Mightiest heroes lost (good murder mystery, nice straightforward changes, and cool ending)
3: The Watcher (most heroes unnecessary except Doctor Strange, enjoyable fight nonetheless)
2: Doctor Strange (great story, fight, time loop, and ending, but not believable that he'd do it for love)
1: Ultron (Fun seeing Ultron Win, destroying everything, feeling purposeless, finding Watcher, etc)
I’d love to see Captain Carter in live action. I used to love Captain Britain comics when I was young.
My favorite episode was the one where Corn of Coblin was revealed to say his most famous catchphrase, MaClunky
I just scrolled through all of the comments hoping to find a Corn of Coblin reference. Well done. :)
@@newdayatmidnight hahah thanks m8
Honestly my favourite thing to come out of the whole series has been these videos
@@anthonyt5 Depends on how high the charisma level is and most not having charisma checks to counter
My favorite episode was The Dark Knight, for Heath Ledger’s performance alone.
I liked the one where Tony Stark died
Nah the one where Tony Stark dies was way better imo
I liked What if Earth lost its mightiest heroes because if you've been watching the MCU movies as they release since 2009, it's easy to forget that some of these characters were always around somewhere doing something. It makes the MCU feel a lot more connected to me seeing phase 3/4 characters active in phase 1.
Definitely T'Challa as Starlord was my favorite. And hearing Chadwick Boseman wanted to bring that energy to the next movie was heartbreaking because he never got to do it.
Same! I was gutted that we never got the chance to see that. He would’ve killed it too
RIP, he never got to have a full trilogy in the MCU, that just sucks
11:09 - There was a moment where Captain Carter notices the tentacles. When they come out of Strange Supreme's hand and he forces them back in prior to Ultron's arrival, she sees them and asks what happened to him.
IMO; the weakest was zombies, and my favourites where Killmongers, Stranges, Party Thor and Captain Carter. I’ll admit Carter is there because I’m a sucker for pulp adventure flics.
I really loved the emotion in the Zombies episode. Like i really felt the relationship between Peter and Hope and almost cried during her sacrifice.
Now rank my birthday parties in order from oldest to newest
I am just happy you have your number one where you have it. Totally agree. Only two episodes really capture the spirit of the What if comics. The rest is basically things that might have happened outside of that series with the Watcher.
I mostly agree! The Dr. Strange episode is defo the best just so self contained and packed full of interesting character stuff loved it!
Half the episodes, including the finale, just felt like they were jamming in references for the sake of it, without any consistency.
9) Captain Carter
8) T’Challa Star Lord
7) Party Thor
6) Finale
5) Killmonger
4) Zombies
3) Avengers Murders
2) Ultron and Hawkeye
1) Doctor Strange
I think if the episode had focused on stark and not killmonger it would have been stronger
Like if the episode was titled what if stark never learned his lesson and it was more about killmonger manipulating him more subtly into making worse and worse decisions or something similar
Honestly wanted to see Stark kill Kilmonger in that one scene bc I thought it'd be a good twist and make him an interesting villian
Completely agree with the order lol and as soon as I was thinking wait there were 9 episodes, you guys came in and said *you're probably thinking...* That was perfect..
Honestly I’d say I agree with the list 100% but I liked all of them and I didn’t think any of them were bad just slightly weaker than others
Great Sunday content from my favorite content creator, Mr Sunday Content
I feel the same about this show as I do the OG Star Trek movies, only the odd episodes are really good, with the exception of the finale
I agree 100% with this list. Thank you for validating my opinions with ultimate authority.
Party Thor was honestly my favorite episode.
Yes, thank you!
That one was hilarious and just pure fun
Didn't ask
I don’t get why people don’t like that episode that much, sure it’s not groundbreaking but it’s nice to see an episode that more light in tone after we watched stuff like all of The Avengers dying and Dr. Strange destroying the entire universe
It boils down to wether you like the Ragnarok characterisation of Thor or not.

I my list is the same as yours except the captain carter one is a few spots higher
The literal crux of Spiderman is that he deals with tragedy using humor, his parents and Uncle were murdered well before Zombies ever happened, was he supposed to be a depressed little baby, cuz that would be out of character.
It was less Spider-Man for me but more so everyone else, plus the jokes weren’t even good. But to each their own.

The killmonger one was great
@mandy moo I didn't dislike it, I just like the other's more
Even though there's lack luster stuff in what if, and it didn't go as crazy as I wanted for every concept. The final 2 episodes are everything I wanted out of this series. That's a fully realized MCU Ultron, and its glorious.
Alright, since you asked at the end. I think that this show has some bad writing overall
1. Overall, it’s a chef’s kiss episode
2. Killmonger saves Tony Stark: Liked this one a lot. It’s viable, the chain effect makes sense and it unravels rather interestingly. I liked Killmonger’s dynamic with Tony and the episode just proved how much of a downright evil person Killmonger is. Every revelation and death made me like it even more, how badly the universe devolves from one minuscule change
3. It was just perfectly balanced with the stuff I liked and didn’t like, as all things shouldn’t be
4. Action is fun and there’s some neat interactions but that’s it
5. They’d pretty easily solve this.’ It did conclude the other plot threads from the other episodes neatly so I’ll give it that
6. It’s fun but not great, far from it
7. JESUS, the MCU treats it like it’s the plague and feigned it for so long that a god damn animated spin-off beat them to it
8. Milk toast man, it isn’t that special of an idea
Well said. Many valid points.

When this series was serious, it was brilliant.
When it was cracking jokes, it just felt like it was made for little kids that would only watch Thor if he’s cracking bad jokes every ten seconds

Man there’s no love for the killmonger episode, that one was my favorite
Mr. Sunday and Misstress Sunday have done it again
Obviously, the episode where the watcher got his butt beat by a robot wearing fruity pebbles is the best episode of all time.
Party Thor was my favorite. Loads of fun. Dr. Strange was the worst. Its whole premise was garbage: one guy makes a stupid decision and the ENTIRE UNIVERSE IMPLODES. Yeahhh.... no.
Honestly yeah the premise was pretty simple for dr strange but I enjoyed his emotional turmoil and the magic haha. I did love party Thor though, so good!
