What do you guys think of this CH exclusive Seiko?! www.chisholmhunter.co.uk/seiko-prospex-samurai-4r-all-black-men-s-42mm-diver-s-watch-srpl15k1.html
I think it's "sho-gu-ra-i," like Shogun + Samurai
Why do you say that this is CH exclusive? You can buy this watch from Seiko directly here in Germany. Or is it CH exclusive in the UK?
@@mircomitc94 it's certainly not an exclusive. Available from any dealer in the US too.
@@mircomitc94 I've seen one in a Seiko booth in Thailand.
It’s a beautifull watch, I just can’t get over that +45/-35 seconds per day accuracy of 4R35 caliber for that money
I have a Seiko with that caliber...and it is not at all in those +/- ranges
I think Seiko is just being humble and if your Seiko ever reach +45/-35 s/d as it is mentioned on their manual book, then it is time for service. I have like more than 10 Seiko(s), none of them was that inaccurate *touchwood*. Even the vintage one.
+45/-35 is really bad. That basically means that you'll have to readjust the time on the watch every 2-3 days.
I've had a few that were on the far edges of that limit, which is disappointing, but they are extremely easy to adjust at least
4R35 is not that bad, its just that Seiko tries to be humble.... most of their watches with this movement has +_4 seconds accuracy per day. This movement is that good
Seiko has their own Lume brand, Lumibrite, they don't use Super-Luminova and that's pretty much standard Seiko, their lume is insanely strong, regardless of price point. They have some Walter White cook cookin that Lume up.
Well, only high end models are deep filled lume, like MM300. Mid tier and low tier models only have applied lume. Still better than any swiss watches !
Thanks for your review! I can't wait to see this watch in the flesh, it surely looks great in the video.
I like how the symmetry of the lume isnt messed up by a date window. It's a beautiful watch, for sure.
Harrison not familiar with the word "unfathomable" is the most adorkable thing I could find this morning
Thanks for the review. Im getting this in black with bracelet soon! Wearing my citizen promaster BN0150-28E today
Wow that is lovely. Ticks all my boxes except for the hardlex but that could be modded I suppose. Wearing the Tudor BB 58 today.
I always had a crush on black watches, the LX line from Seiko is insanely handsome, but can't justify buying one yet. This one might be a better beater. As for the hardlex, c'mon, we all have at least 3 G-SHOCKS laying around and we don't complain
Very nice. Love the bezel grip! Thanks for sharing.
Wrist check : Tudor Royal silver in 38mm. Still one of my favorite everyday watch !
Seamaster Professional White Dial on my wrist today!
Very nice. I’m wearing the Seamaster Professional with black dial on a black rubber strap with deployment clasp.
Needs ceramic bezel and saphire glass...
yeah, for that money... meh
true , it is robbery by Seiko !
For what? It's a tool real dive watch.
That’s why the King Samurai is a much better watch. Dial texture looks worse for this model as well.
@@strikey888 Yeah but the King Samurai only has a 4r35 movement.
Love the new samurai! It's beautiful.
Rolex Explorer II white dial. A smart looking watch from Seiko.
Today I have on my wrist an omega seamaster 300 ref 166024 sp2 from my dad
As always, I’m wearing my Longines Hydroconquest in black. 43mm
How to you like it . Thinking of getting the 41mm .
A great watch at 41 mm for my 6.5 inch wrist. Strikingly great looks and great accuracy at +4- +5 sec/day. A solidly built timepiece that I call an elegant diver. Highly recommended.
A real king joined the chat.
I’m loving my 41mm Spirit Zulu Black Bezel, navy blue dial, on stainless steel bracelet. I considered the Hydroquest, but had my heart my first Longines being a Zulu
@@garygarner9729 I love the watch and yes, I wish I got the 41 mm as well. I have 7.5 inch wrists but 43 still looks a bit chunky. Beautiful watch nonetheless.
Great review ad always but the only Seiko watches that appeal to me are the JDM models.
Seiko chronograph speed timer with the white face is hands down the best seiko watch, especially when you can get big discounts on them. Being solar just makes it killer. This watch does look great but I couldn’t go for any watch without a sapphire crystal.
Seiko 5 SRPJ85!!! My first Automatic / Mechanical watch ever!
My next desk diver will be either this Seiko or Citizen promaster diver automatic rubber strap
Bought the watch from your video…..LOVE LOVE LOVE THE WATCH!!!!!!
Great video, Chisholm. I'm in the US. Will this watch be available from USA authorized dealers at some point soon? Or do you have an exclusive deal with Seiko?
Fantastic looking watch!
I don’t agree with the date window being too small. IMO, it’s perfect size and positioned perfectly so that it doesn’t get in the way of the symmetry of the dial hour markers.
It almost seems as if it didn’t have any date complication at all, which I find excellent!
Tudor BB GMT on the wrist. Love this Seiko! Great review.
I think this release is definitely an upgrade over the outgoing model, though I did quite like the white King Samurai with its graph paper like look. I am tempted by the burgundy/maroon one on bracelet. On the wrist is my Explorer II 226570 black dial.
I’m buying this!
❤️❤️
Congrats my vato. Your voice is made for this watch stuff, and u got good taste in watches, not their price. I was going to get the Titanium Shogun because i like that its titanium, i like the bigger cyclops date, and its got an emotional pull for me. But this one made me turn my head and check it out. Still think will go with the Shogun because its held an emotional pull for me since i saw it. But this is the best samurai to get.
Cracking review. So good that I now need to buy one 🤷♂️
Sea master pro blue dial today, trying to convince myself it’s summer here in Cornwall ;
I usually don't like Seiko's designs on their dive watches but I can get behind on this one.
Seiko spb317 slim turtle on fkm azure blue vented quick release from ‘Wrist Envy’. So comfortable and a strap monster.
Looks just like the Prospex Sea SRPF03 that I have, only in black and the date resides between 4/5 and not at 3.
Tissot Seastar 1000 T, 40 mm , automatic , Black/Blue on my wrist today.
Thanks for the review, when will this model be available to buy? Wrist check: Bulova Jet Star
I know people will hate me for mentioning this watch. But here I go invicta pro diver. 10 years going strong has one of my daily wear. I have other watches but I find my hands grabbing this watch. 😅
Early morning: Seiko Monster 1st gen black dial, then switch to Seiko 7002 Pepsi bezel, evening Tandorio 38mm with NH34. Soon will be Casio GD350 as my sleeping watch and vibrating alarm.
You want an amazing Seiko? Review the Astron. That's my daily, always accurate and ready to go. Titanium is amazing 👏🏼
Very nice beautiful watch…👍👏💪 on my wrist today U-Boat darkmoon bronze 44mm
Very pretty watch!!!
Hardlex doesn’t shatter like sapphire, but the non-divers have so infiltrated dive watch standards that most people prefer it to hardlex
Seiko does indeed make bulky watches, Seikos are glorious wrist clocks that Flavor Flav would proudly rock around his neck.
Wrist check: 35mm, Tissot PRX, mother of pearl dial.
Very tacticool! The seiko night vision series might still be my pick for this look tho
Wristcheck: Casio Duro Pepsi on a blue & white NATO.
I’m wearing a microbrand and it’s my daily. The Ratio freediver automatic with the green dial. $90 bday gift
Do you know if it is PVD coated and how well is the blackened surface holding up…yours getting any dings?
Speaking of wristcheck. I am rocking an aragon divemaster in mother of perl dial on a barton blue strap.
Black bay 54 on the wrist today, got it from you guys 😁
Awesome my man!! Thank you so much for coming to CH. I really appreciate it mate ❤️
so which watch is this ?
Seiko SARB035 on my wrist today!
wrist check is Zelos Swordfish 40 Bronze
Wearing my dad's Rolex Oyster Precision from either 1954 or 55. I only wear this on special occasions....like the 4th of July.
Gonna order parts to mod myself one now!
It's a gorgeous watch. I wish it was available in the US
All 3 versions of this new Samurai will be available. The all black one is NOT exclusive to anyone!
Good…but not as good as the SARB017 Alpinist….a classic on par with any Rolex or Omega IMO 😊
lol SLA yes but the 017 while great isn’t the best Seiko has offered. My opinion of course
Alpinist is cool
It’s a beautiful watch but again, why does Seiko always have to jam a date window in there. It would look so much cleaner without…. IMO. Love the video!
I believe they do it bc they understand that their segment includes lots of buyers that are getting into automatic watches. As a first time watch buyer, you’ll likely buy a piece with a date over one without… just bc. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it 🤷♂️
Japanese days and dates are almost a tradition by now. I believe it's because they sold mostly for the average middle-class worker of the 70s and 80s that wasn't a collector, not only in Japan but worldwide.
But i agree that many dials would benefit if they didn't had day-date functions, and not only from Seiko.
For ISO compliance.
I guess it's because guys like us that usually need a day/date. I constantly need to check what day/date it is when I'm out. 😅
So so so so true.
Wrist size?
Seikos usually hit above their price point. This one is a good watch, and it has the 4R35 movement (branded NH35). It makes sense to get it because if you are going to spend money on a noname clone equipped with an NH35, might as well get an original Seiko.
Longines Hydroconquest in blue today for me.
Wearing my Marathon GSAR today 💪 I just bought the black coated version (the SRPL15) online from a retailer here in Aus, so I’m not sure about his assertion that it’s exclusive to his store?
I'm wearing my Jack Mason Stratotimer Magnolia today.
wow... beautiful watch. Now Seiko is like a GShock to me. One is not enough 😆
Citizen Red Arrow Titanium on the wrist today!
3:23 Is it DLC coated or did Seiko go with the cheaper and inferior PVD coating? Hoping it's DLC.
I thought DLC was a pvd coating , no? What’s the difference? Thank you
If you get confused, lost, or scared in restaurants, maybe try getting hungry and deciding what you want to eat... BEFORE going in? Of course everything is more difficult for a heavily dyslexic person, but I believe the method I am suggesting will make it easier for you.
Similarly, try doing the same thing with Seiko (and watches in general). First decide what you are looking for, then begin looking for it.
Great release from Seiko, and great review. I am personally waiting for the release of a true SKX013 alternative in the Prosper range.
Take a look at the solar SNE series
Nice indeed, but I prefer automatic movements.
Yes!
I am a owner of a skinny wrist, and i wonder… how is the lug to lug? 49mm is pretty insane, but does the lugs curve to the wrist?
Grand SEIKO sbgm221 on the wrist
My favourite Seiko is the Monster Gen 4 SRPD27K.
I’m wearing my Blackbay 58 blue as usual. Bloody love it
I have the Samurai STO while watching this
Price?
Black bay 54 on a bracelet.
Just when I thought I didn't need no diver...
had high expectations for the red shogurai but hardlex and an old movement that's unpredictable.....I'll wait for the san martin version of this with ceramic and sapphire
That is a good looking watch, I have to say.
Wearing my Baltic Dual Crown Blue Sunburst on their beads of rice bracelet, loving microbrands these days 💪
You don't ship to the US? :(
Breitling Jupiter Pilot on the wrist
Are you saying shotgun or shogun?
The samurai was always too big for my tastes but the dark steel really does visually shrink it. I could consider picking one up and swapping out the crystal for a sapphire.
It’s not texture it’s called knurled on the crown and bezel. Something watch nerds…. Take care 😊
I love the Seiko shotgun!
wearing G Shock Mtg b3000 today 🎉
That texture is referred to as “knurling” on the crown.
Hamilton khaki field mechanical 38mm on bracelet 😊
Same but on leather. Still one of my favourite pieces and probably the best value for money watch I own.
In my opinion, I love the date window. I need a date on my watch. I won’t buy watch without an actual date complication. Weirdly I really like the knurling on the crown. Want one. 😂😂 They can’t make a watch or a day complication on a watch for people that should be wearing glasses that don’t wear glasses. That’s hilarious.
That’s a cool diver’s. Seiko consistent with making great looking, affordable and reliable watches. Probably would get more credit if they were 4 or 5 times the price.
Needs Sapphire at this price point, in my humble opinion
Wearing my omega planet ocean today!
Cool!
Beautiful.💯👍
Christopher Ward C65 Trident Manually Wound.
You are spot on, Seiko has way too many models.
Seiko uses its own propriety LumiBrite not Super luminova. Brenny was right about everything…
Ginault Ocean Rover 2 today.
Sinn 6068B today.
really nice dive watch, but why no sapphire? for that price… come on, seiko!
When you say "shogun", it sounds an awful lot like "shotgun"... 😂
But am enjoying the content. 😊
Nice 👌🏽.
