- In this review, guitar specialist Jaimie Patel talks about the new Ibanez models. Here's a first look at the Ibanez RGAIX6U. The Ibanez Iron Label series RGAIX6U RG electric guitar has an ash body, a 3-piece maple/bubinga Nitro Wizard neck, and an ebony fretboard. This combination of wood types results in a balanced, yet powerful sound. For a robust feel and tone, Ibanez has equipped it with a Gibraltar Standard II bridge and two rough-and-ready Bare Knuckle Aftermath humbuckers.

This is a must for me, I need It..
Great guitar and great pick ups!
God i really want to buy all ibanez iron label
this guitar and the new s model in blue space burst are two of the nicest guitars i've ever seen in mainstream! Hope to get one of these, need a 7 for my collection. Damn Ibanez, well done.
Tell me about it. I'm having a hard time picking which one to buy
Pretty cool!!
Anybody know how easy it would be to throw some active pickups (fishman modern fluence in particular) in this? I love the look and alot of the features of the guitar, I'd just prefer the Fishmans to the Bare Knuckles.
What amp is that? Is the playing through the H&K? Is it a Tubemeister? Tubemeister Deluxe?
Hey Dan, it's indeed an H&K Tubemeister Deluxe amp head with the TM 212 cabinet, I believe.
is this the only RGA addition to the 2017 range?
Hey MrRawwr! We've got a whole range of Ibanez RGA guitars - check them out here: www.bax-shop.co.uk/products/search?filters[order]=score&filters[price][min]=0&filters[price][max]=8000&filters[q]=RGA&grid=list
I would Really love that guitar with a reverse headstock 😍😍
Is it me, or does this guitar look really large? Like an oversized S or RG...?
I think it's a really small dude holding it
I think I know what I want to save for 😳
price? and possibly a 7 string model?
Hey Darian, we'll find out more when this model is released at NAMM, which is the week of 16th Jan. Keep an eye on the site for news (or sign up for the newsletter), as we'll be covering the whole thing. All the best!

Hi Can! It looks like it'll cost €1249.
they really gotta move that volume knob placement
still no neck volute? cmon ibanez :/ everything else is wicked though.
Sounds terrible!! For such a great guitar. To be on hands for this guy!! What's his issue with swinging from left to right while playing time and again on ur butt?? Hahaha
There is no way this guitar is worth over a grand though what is Ibanez doing in 2017 all their new iron label and premium guitars are the same price as a prestige model waste of money if you ask me.
I'm from England so the pricing is a little different but that's not the point I wasn't talking about the specs, you can get a prestige guitar for almost the same price why would you buy a iron label guitar from the affordable range if it's not affordable? that's what I meant, they went over the top this year yes it's awesome! but no where near affordable enough to be in that range and that was the whole point of the iron label range.
i get your point here...but in order to get a prestige Ibanez with these specs..like aftemath pickups, bound ebony fretboard, combined with the fact that the prestiges are using different bridges and 5 p.c. necks or more..makes the price to rise up at 2000€...or higher...
This guitar belongs to the most expensive iron label line, and its palyability and tone is quite close to the prestige line. Of course the quality is not going to be like the prestiges..meaning the fretjob, the setup etc...but i believe with a visit to a guitar luthier for a good set up and inspection you re gonna get similar tone with the one you would from the prestige line. Unless you believe, like many other romantic musicians, that the choise of wood in electric instruments has a huge role to play...i dont believe that..especially in high gain situations..just my two cents here...
Cheers
Not a huge fan of the aftermath
Intonation kinda sucks
Sounds terrible
