Another nice thing to have right at the end is the matte clear coat by Rust-Oleum. It gets rid of that tacky feeling immediately once it dries and helps everything stay on the rifle a little longer. Not by much but some.
I tried this as well in the past and wouldn't suggest it on any darker colors. The clear coat can lead to a frosted appearance and can and up a bit shiny looking even with very light coats on darker browns
@@MWRredundant that's wild, cause I've used it on 7-8 guns now between me and a couple buddies and we've yet to run into that issue on all our rifles and couple handguns
@@jreg7015 entirely possible I had a lemon can. It looked so bad I had to paint over the whole project which was a shame since I was never able to paint it as well as I did initially under the matte coat. Happy it's worked well for you though.
Have any of you guys checked out the That's cool, now spray paint it FB group? Still getting sights and maybe different furniture together before I paint my 1st AR. 👍

@@MWRredundant that is entirely possible, and man, I've painted over it before. You gotta lay it on thick to fix, so I know how much that sucks lol
