@@Blazervitch whats hard for u may not be hard for me and vise versa...just because u think it's difficult doesn't mean it is difficult for everyone. I find that back hand cross court slice very easy but I came from badminton and this is a common shot.

I legit made this exact move on my first game. Pickleball is a fun sport, but stop making it more spectacular than it really is.

@@jdove39 faster reaction times, paddles are smaller than racquets by a decent amount, more complex scoring and point systems.

@@Smashmymom here is a letter I just wrote to our town director who controls two courts - I am rallying the tennis players to push back - this will happen all over the country. Tennis is a real sport - in 15 minutes I could learn the stupid PB game and beat all of them. They will beat me on a tennis court - the learning curve is too steep. Here is my letter:
Dear Natalie:
I am one of the local tennis players at uses the courts at the Fort. There is a rumor circulating in the community that the Fort is considering eliminating one of the two courts for use as a pickleball court. This is a bad idea for several reasons as I will set out below.
Pickleball players are energized and organized. In PT alone they have six courts. First they lobbied the high school to take one of the four tennis courts and convert it to a PB court. Next they targeted the tennis court that is at the courthouse park. Theft successfully had that court removed and somehow got the funding tio have two brand new PB courts paved there. These courts alone are more beautiful than any of the tennis courts in town. Next the PB union lobbied the City to remove a basketball court anf tennis court located on the fringe of the swimming pool. They have installed three PB courts there. The PB people have also conc=]vertd several tennis courts at Kala Point to PB courts.
If we take a headcount of the cotys on Port Townsend we have 5 tennis courts - two at the Fort and three at the high school and six PB courts - one at the high school, three outside the pool, and two at the Courthouse Park. There are more PB courts than tennis courts in town. It would be entirely inappropriate to make any more concessions. Yes I know the PB group is organized and determined - they are aggressive and pushy. The Fort needs to politely tell them that their needs for courts have been met - there are six courts in town. All guests at the Fort should be directed to use these public courts.
There is an additional reason - Noise. The PB gae is loud. Clackety, clack, clack, clack. That is the sound that can be heard on any PB court. On top of that, and this is my opinion though shared by any the PB crowd is boorish. They have no sense of etiquette. They barge onto the courts, talk or short in loud voices. It is an activity not a true sport. You always hearackling laughter at amy court. There is a house in town directly across the street from the high school BB court. The noise was so loud and obnoxious that the homeowner complained - he attended a City Hearing and said, for the love of God, can we please reign in these unruly PB people and the City imposed time limits on play - they are not permitted to play early in the morning or late at night. If you allow PB at the Fort the renters on Officers Row will complain. No one wants to pay $250 a night for lodging and have unruly PB players outside the window.
Signage
The courts need signage installed. "Play Limited to One Hour per Group or One Set." Most public courts have signage like this. It protects people who wait tio get a court.
