This makes perfect sense. I'd say 80% or more of my misses are directly behind the target, with some misses high or low. "Always miss in front" makes perfect sense- I'll begin working on this. Many thanks! Brilliant.

Hi roger. I would like to add that the pellets come out of the gun as a "string". By shooting in front of the clay, the clay is going into that shot string. If the first few pellets go in front of the clay you may still get a hit with the trailing string of pellets. As you say "If you miss behind, you miss" end of story. Miss in front you could still get lucky. Keep well.

Very good and clear explanation. This is probably the hardest thing for new shooters to get their head around.
    Happy new year from Ireland.

Hi Roger can you do a video on shooting with a mid bead and all we need to know

physically, missing behind or in front is the same thing. Actually, you miss behind and you can still break the clay exactly as you explained for the in front missing case. Yet, in shooting, we tend to miss behind not in front. This is because our human brains usually underestimate the true sufficient lead. Now, even if you intentionally try to miss in front, your brain will moderate the overleading.. So, I do agree with you 100%. I remember when I first hunted high geese, I used to shout on my self: "Miss In Front, Miss Front, dont worry :)"
