don't eat pin fish i tried it only once they are bad. get your self a bigger fishing pole with at lest 40 to 60 pound line take those pin fish near the end of the pier cast the pin fish out as far as you can it might take some time but you will catch a big grouper good luck try this number on the bridge #152 its on the left side passed the bathrooms near the end of the bridge i got some 10 to 20 ponders (grouper) let me know if you go and catch any thing big good luck.
plug faster and set your drag loose. it won't guarantee your line being cut but there's more a chance that the spanish will hit the plug and not the line. and if they're really thick out there then just use mono leader, there's no sense in wasting fluoro
great pier, very beautiful, nice parking setup, bait shop ,etc,,,,but never have caught any fish of value.

there is no limit for a pinfish :)
The only way to get them to hit was to jig vertically (I think that was the problem with bite offs), and most of the fish were 18-22" fork length

I had a pile of spanish bite through 40lb Ande fluoro last time I fished with a gotcha...Think I might step it up to 60... Any suggestions?
