Hahaha sick boys! Thanks for making me famous 🤙🏻! Headed to El Salvador for some fun right point breaks and desperately needed coaching. I’ll let you all know how it goes 🍻
Whats the best way to film a session if you and all your buddies are surfing at the same time? Is it possible to setup a camcorder on a tripod on the wall? Any recommendations?
Good question! You can do it a few different ways. 1. Use a GoPro on a suction cup mount and pop it on the wall. Just make sure to switch when you change sides 2. Set up a phone/camera on a beach chair 3. Best angle is on the wall above the “Waco Surf” (either side). If you can pop a camera up there, that’s best! The Soloshot series would be perfect for this, but any camera will do - just depends on the audience after the session!
@@greenroomsurfreviews another take away from experience is to bring my own boards next time. although they had a good selection, the day I was set up for my video shoot they didn't have the board I wanted and had to settle for a board that was a little too big.
Dang I think we missed that math in the video 🤦🏻♂️ it depends on how the machine is run. On average, you get 8-9 waves a side, so 16-18 in an hour…more if you poach! Are you heading to Waco soon!?
@@greenroomsurfreviews thanks for replying👊🏼 Yes their website says 3 waves every 30 seconds on intermediate, and 3 waves every 80 seconds on expert. Trying to break it down cost per wave! Your review says it was $139 per session (expert?) Another factor...do you paddle back the length of the pool to the takeoff spot each time until they switch the direction?! My initial idea was to book it and bring a group of frothing groms from the local esa district! PerfectSwell is contracted to install the system in Virginia so hopefully the development funds hold up and it's as big as the pool in Brazil!!
Yeah it was 139/expert session when we visited in April. Those groms will be STOKED 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼. You paddle back maybe 70% of the pool length but there is a current (next to the wall where you poach) that pushes back toward the takeoff spot. We are average dads in average condition and we didn’t have much of a problem with the cardio! And Virginia should be super excited that is happening - maybe we can do a pool review when it’s finished?!
@@greenroomsurfreviews thanks again! A Waco trip would definitely be motivation to say, get straight A's the final semester! Either way a great experience and opportunity for progression in consistent surf. Come do the review in September, then hit the Outer Banks for some slabbing pits during peak cyclone season💯👊🏼
Hey Derinda! Yes, there is VW bus down by the Cabanas. We couldn’t find a way to rent it out, so we suggest contacting the Waco Surf Team if you’re interested. But there are RV Hookups…so if you BYOVW, then it’ll be the best of both worlds!
It was very hard to surf. Dangerous with to many people in the line up. If the guy in front of you falls down it has not enough time and space to let you thru . And then right behind you there is another person coming in so if you fall you are more stress out about crashing or been hit. At the start up point The wave sucks you in like if you were going to a drainage and then it pushes you out. I was not very stocked at the end.
Oh dang - that’s sucks! Sorry You didn’t have a great time, Pachin G. Did you surf the Expert wave the entire time? Anything you’d do differently if you were to visit all over again?
😂 Yeah definitely a lot of money to pay for perfect waves…in Texas…but if you can swing it (split between 6 of your closest friends?) you won’t regret it! Did we mention the waves are perfect?
Hey Brian! I think your boys would definitely have fun at the pool! The question is, what wave type would you do with them? There’s beginner, intermediate and expert. When we were there last spring, we surfed with a few young kids (I’m guessing around the age of 10-12). For the expert session, being able to paddle and pop up is essential for them to surf in that setting. I watched a beginner session and the waves looked friendly, the softops were out, and the stoke was high. On a side note, the beach sand is a great place for kids to dig and play provided the hot Texas sunshine isn’t too much. Have you considered wave settings yet?
@@greenroomsurfreviews thanks for the reply! My 10 year old is just starting to pop up on a soft top. So beginner wave would be best for him. I would do intermediate. My little boy could maybe bodyboard… or just play in the sand haha
You guys are going to have a ball! Not sure if you’re driving or flying in but if you can bring bikes, skateboards, or roller skates, there’s a killer bike path that encircles the wakeboard lake. It’s a great place to warm up or let the littles get some energy out!
agree, Turo is awesome
I will never go back.

Yewwwww!!! Jealous!! Have fun down there! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Damn, the wave at 12:38 I've never seen it wedge like that (height wise). I've been there 4 times. May be worth the private session.
Jonathan, 💯 worth it. We made friends during our stay and invited them to split the cost! Let us know if you end up giving it a go!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Nice. Well done.
‘preciate the feedback 🤙🏼
Even the intermediate wave is pretty good. You need to know what you are doing to take full advantage of both intermediate and expert.
We totally agree! It took us 1-2 sessions to acclimate, hoping these videos cut that learning curve down a bit 🤙🏼

Oh man! That’s a great tip, sorry you had to learn it the hard way! Out of curiosity, which board was it?
How many waves per hour did you actually get to take off on? I may have missed that in your review, even though I watched it a few times. Thanks👊🏼🤙🏼
