Welcome to the Holderness Coast buddy I totally enjoyed watching your videos especially this one a slow start but it really picked up for you well done on all your fish again really enjoyed watching tight lines buddy from John 👍🎣
Well no one can say you dont put the miles is ...lovely coast line up that way ..brid was one of my yearly trips but haven't done for many years...was nice to see you rewarded with a good catch of dabs ....congratulations Thank you and best wishes.
A fantastic session sir .A great coastline there , and productive (eventually!) . The mighty ragworm catches anything it seems ! pleasure to watch as always 👍🏼🎣
Great to see you fishing the Holderness coast Mick, its my local venue and it was nice to see how you changed your usual set up to combat the different conditions that you’re more accustomed to, it’s a shame that you never had a codling or two as there are a few coming out at the moment, but as you found out there’s no shortage of Dabs to be had, looking forward to you making a few more vlogs up here maybe try a little further down the coast for a better chance of cod/codling 👍🏻
Many thanks for that Steven. Next video homes in on Aldbrough - hopefully out next Thursday, assuming I have one lined up for the following week; which is touch and go, since I'm still recovering from a damaged hand. I had planned to fish Holderness last week, but I've been unable to grip anything, let alone cast!
Hi Mick. Never fished that far north and it looks like I've missed out. A good venue and a good session...and only one whiting! Bit crowded the day before though! I assume that you went up for a couple of days / holiday and not just a day trip. Be good and stay safe. Cheers. Ken
Good question! The wash runs up the beach quite a bit, so you set up further back from the water's edge than a lot of venues I fish and you get a series of large waves coming in - I think they call them sets up here. Yes, I prefer to keep my rods low down when fishing for flat fish, but here your lines would be moved about too much and rod tips would keep bouncing, making it difficult to spot bites.
Nice one mick a long way to go for dabs . But we don't get that many in the Thames these days as you know . You must clock up some miles over the year . Thanks it's great viewing .
Thanks Stephen - you're right, I think the last time I caught dabs from the Thames, was when you could still get on and fish from the black jetty on Canvey.
Ayup Pal.This vid came to me by algorithm while watching Fishhunter UK. And bugger me i met you that day.I was the guy with a beard who set up 50 yards to your right near the breakwater, and I came over to have a chat, not long before you packed up. spooky haha :) ,,I had a right good night there too , codlings , flatties and a personal best bass.I'm gona email you some pics over :) ,Enjoyed watching yr vid , very informative and i like yr methodical approach.Cheers.Mike.
Nice one Mike - that sounds great and was it you that showed me a pic of a lovely cod you caught from Bridlington south wall? I had a couple of codling from Aldbrough the day after we chatted. Nice to have met you and many thanks for watching.
Nice one Mick . Been a bugger going all that way and blanking. Was you up there on holiday only long way from Southend. I do watch a lot of vids from up there can be hit and miss.its right place right time. Scotland next.Well done 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Stephen - yes it took a couple of hours before my first bite and I thought I might blank! I've still plenty of venues I used to fish down south to cover, before venturing to Scotland - it does appeal to me though!
The cliffs around Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, much further north have those fossils - cliffs here are of boulder clay from the last ice age; but that's not to say you wouldn't find any, it just unlikely. Thanks for watching Stuart - I think I'm the only fossil in the video!
I don't (currently) do sea fishing matches, but do enjoy watching and learning from them, so I may come and watch one of the three days. Best wishes for the event and thanks for watching Colin.
@@rodsangleuk6283 Mick , if you are fishing in the Hornsea area again and need bait give Nic àt North East anglers a call she will sort you out. The shop is in Hornsea.
Your filming and editing make a slow day fishing just as enjoyable
Many thanks for that James.

Many thanks again!
Enjoyed that , that’s a beach I fish now and again . Can throw up some decent sole in summer .
Thanks Andy and that's a good reason for me to return in the summer - hopefully you can catch them in daylight.
Wow... those flatties kept coming in the end rod. Well done mate 😃👍
Better late, than never. Thanks Neil👍

Thanks as always for your support Ken 👍 Yes - a great 3 day stay in Bridlington.
Great video mate, well done it's my part of the coast , tight lines 🎣
Thanks Ian - you're very lucky. Please send some fish (especially codling) down our way!
Love the videos.proper fishing . lots of info.
Many thanks for that Mark 👍
Not far from me in Whitby Rod. I'd love to see you a bit further up the coast in this neck of the woods. Great video as usual.
Thanks - I intend to fish Holderness a bit more and possibly venture further north one day.
Great video. Well worth the long drive. Your rods were set higher than usual. Any reason, as there didn't appear to be much of a swell.

Patchy when I was there, but apparently had improved since. Thanks for watching Gary.
a long way to go fishing ,, thats dedication rod
Many thanks for that Dean and for watching.
isn't that mark on the Yorkshire Jurassic coast? Did you find and ammonites in the gravel?

Mick are you fishing the EOBC this year ?
I'm heading down from Scotland and staying in Mappelton.

nice video
Thanks for that John.
dungeness is my area
Can do a lot worse than fish at Dunge - always worth a go there.
Ban all super trawlers from our waters . Any comments ?
That might improve recreational fishing; however here I'll stick to dab baits, rather than those sorts of debates!
Triple Drat !
Not keen on dabs then? Thanks for watching John.
