I know it may sound weird but I think the original is kinda a good answer to the bugout in the budget range. It being a thumb stud button lock gives it similar (perhaps better) function than the axis lock. The blade shape is similar as well as the weight. Obviously the steel isn't the same but I think the aluminum makes up for it due to the less than great plastic scales on the bugout.
I bought a Conspirator earlier this year. It's your basic black micarta with stonewashed blade. I like it so much I put in an order for the one in green micarta with black stonewash. My dealer sent me the damascus version. Initially, I thought about sending it back but I just decided to pay him the difference and kept it. Love the Conspirator.
I made the same choice. Actually my wife got me the conspirator with the wood scales for my birthday this coming Saturday and I got myself an older crkt tighe tac two to add another fidget friendly knife to the collection. Glad to see I made the same choice as someone like yourself with considerably more experience
1st of all more experience is A gracious thing for you to say but we're all just knife guys and you know I greatly appreciate you even taking time to watch the video 2nd of all how awesome is your wife to get you that knife and 3rd yes it is an incredible EDC it it competes with some of my stuff that's much more higher when it comes you're when it comes to cost
I bought the Conspirator over the Cogent. I get mine later in the week. It will be my first Civivi. I own two Kershaw Launches and looking forward to a button lock!
I have all three and the Cogent and to my surprise, the Cogent is my favorite. But the Original has such a quality feel that I absolutely love. But the Altus has better ergos for me. The Conspirator has a little too much blade mass. Love a drop point but they could have slimmed it down a little to give it better action. ALL of my button locks have had a little stick when new, so it doesn't bother me any. They've all broken in nicely
I have the Cogent, the Altus' blade geometry looks superior and ergonomics look better ad well. I'm intrigued with the Original but I can't do metal scales (hyperhidrosis aka sweaty palms)..Conspirator looks good but the Altus looks better all around with them studs. Which do you prefer I get next?
I'm with you on the Kizer Original. It's just so smooth compared to my Altus and Conspirator. The only thing that keeps me from using the Original more, is the limited rum.
@@Nothingtoya right. I've got the gunmetal and it's pretty limited. Lol. I pretty much let mine sit in the drawer. I'll just use it as a gentleman's carry when I go out. And then it'll be riding in a slip. Lol
I have and dig the Original. I don't have the Altus or Conspirator yet, but I'll get a Conspirator eventually. What I REALLY want is that Chevalier which drops this month. A sheepsfoot button lock in 14c28n? Yes, please! Thanks for the look and your thoughts, T. Stay well up there, brother!
All three are fantastic. I've been eyeing the Conspirator for a while now; I want it for hiking and other outdoor activities. However as an urban edc knife, for all occasions, I recommend the Kizer Original or the Altus. The Kizer is small and unassuming for when you want to be less conspicuous. If I didn't own any knives and I was looking at these I would buy the Kizer and the Conspirator.
Conspirator. All day, every day for me. Drops so fast that the blade bounces back out of the handle and then settles in. (Right out of the box) Got the wood handle, slippery but still can middle finger flip it. Will get a custom handle for it at some point. Hard to imagine a “better” EDC. ADEDC.
I have the Altus and the Conspirator. I don’t currently have the Original but I do have the Assassin which is another great button lock knife from Kizer.
That's awesome how do you compare the assassin to the conspirator Altus what would you say give me a run down on what you think if you were to have to do a comparison video lol
@@EEDC The Assassin has the snappiest action but all three knives have great action with no lock stick. The Conspirator is the best fidget knife and has the best blade. All three knives are exceptional values. It gets down to what size blade I feel like carrying on a given day.
