Just dipped my toe into the Civivi world of knives with the min Praxis. I'm pretty impressed. I'll be buying more from them! That Consparator looks great!
The CIVIVI Conspirator is my favorite pocket knife. I like it so much that I am treating myself to a second for Xmas. It feels so good in the hand and is a perfect form factor.
I already have a Conspirator just like yours. Black micarta with stonewashed blade. I just ordered the one in green micarta and black stonewashed blade. That's how much I love the Conspirator. I've got two newer Civivis. The Sentinel Strike and the Vision FG. Both awesome blades but the Conspirator is still my favorite. The first Civivi I bought was a Praxis in black coarse micarta with a blackwash blade. I also bought a Chevalier and a Keen Nadder. The Keen is my next favorite after the Conspirator. It's a very close second.
I own one of these in exactly the what you're showing, got about 6 months ago as a gift from my son. I agree with everything you're saying about it and I carry it often, the NITRO-V steel is very good at holding an edge, have only had to take it to a steel once to bring back a hair shaving edge.
I've been saying it for a year or 2 now but if companies like civivi, CJRB, kizer, n kubey can give u a solid knife with all the extras for under $100. Then other companies that are sub $100 brands can 2. (Cough - CRKT, Kershaw). I mean its insane what u can get for $50‐80 these days. U get materals, like bearings, different lock types, micarta, and so on, that were almost reserved for mid tech - high ends like 7 or 8 years ago. Right now we r in a period where u get so many options its hard not to find something u will love..
Preach! Your review of the Conspirator is dead nut accurate and on point. I have the green micarta/black blade version. It's the only button lock in my collection so far, but I guess that's the point. The Conspirator is so good, it's the only one you need. Such a great knife. My first Civivi purchase was the rosewood/Damascus Pintail Flipper. I still think it's the most beautiful 3" folding knife I've ever seen. I was so impressed with everything about it that several more Civivi and WE purchases have since followed, including the Conspirator. None of them have disappointed in the least. Really glad I found your channel, and thanks for a great review.
I'm a knife enthusiast, owning well over 100 folding knives, ranging in price from $10 to $1000. When it comes to fit, finish, and function, you can't do better than Civivi, in terms of bang for your buck. Yes, they are a Chinese company, so it's hard for me to admit that, but they currently rule the budget knife market. I own roughly a dozen Civivi knives, and I haven't been disappointed with a single one. In fact, Civivi knives have become my go to for gifts, and every person that I've gifted one to, has immediately fallen in love. I have friends who were diehard CRKT, Kershaw, Benchmade, Buck, and gas station knife loyalists, who now swear by Civivi.
From what I gather, they're putting the $ in the manufacturing instead of the marketing.
Same here!
So I’m guessing you don’t own any reate knives 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@930tomp so with a straight face, you’re really trying to say WE makes better knives than reate?
@@thecarproconnoisseur5412 didn't see where he said that
I have 3 Civivi’s, and love all of them. When it comes to Civivi, you can’t beat the quality for the price. I need to get one with mycarta scales.
I have a number of WE and Civivi knives, from cheap to expensive. And they are all well made for the money.
I have the Cogent button lock from them and I love it. No play at all and their button locks have a great sound to them as well.
I’ve been edc a civivi cogent for the past six months and absolutely love it. First civivi and I’m sold on the brand.
Been a huge civivi fan for a while, but as a lefty I’ve never been a fan of liner/frame locks. Stuck to my bugout/940 for so long due to the crossbars being ambi friendly. As soon as I heard Civivi was coming out with button locks I waited for a design I really liked. Bought the black blade+green micarta and it’s honestly all I could ever want in an EDC. Such an absolutely solid knife.
Ever tried pushing with your index. Its what i do.
@@aml2548 tried it before, works okay but I have had a few times were the blade falls faster than expected and gives my finger a sharp kiss
I love my Civivi Conspirator. It's one of the most reliable knives that I have other than my Chris Reeves Sebenza. I really like that Nitro V steel and how light it is to carry.
I got it like 3 weeks ago and so far im loving it
I've cut small branches and trimmer lines with it no problem, plus for the everyday like opening mail and boxes, love it truly, no rusting either and i live somewhere very humid
I bought one of these for a friend for Christmas. I liked it so much I bought a second for myself. I honestly had no idea how smooth and fidgety it would be! I love the one I got.. The same model that you demoed! I have a LOT of knives. This one finds it's way into my pocket more frequently than most. Oh, I swapped out the pocket clip for their titanium version. It puts it into the next tier for sure!
I bought this knife after watching your excellent review and as someone who has much more expensive knives; these more expensive knives don’t even come close to this well made knife. Absolutely love this knife. Love your reviews and looking forward to watching your next review and I’m now a subscriber. By the way, this knife comes scary sharp out of the box 👍
So glad to hear your epic experience!!
I'm happy to see you do a video on this knife I recently went to my local knife shop looking to pickup a Civivi it was hard for me to not get a conspirator,, but I went with the Appalachian drifter but I think I know my next knife will be a conspirator
The Conspirator is the only Civivi button lock knife that I haven't tried out yet. I have had the Altus, Chevalier and currently have the Cogent. All great knives. Crazy thing is their sister company Sencut has two button lock knives that are half the price of the Conspirator and damn near just as good! I have the Sencut Sachse and you wanna talk about bang for your buck! I think it was like $43! Amazing action and feels great in hand. Check them out sometime as a comparison. Sencut just dropped a new button lock this week but the name escapes me. Thanks for the video man!!!
I agree. The Sachse is pretty damn nice for the price. I actually like it more than the Altus but not as much as the Conspirator.
The new one is the Crowley I think.
@@craigjomaia Yes!!
Welcome to the world of quality Chinese knife manufacturers. Civivi, Kizer, QSP, and several other companies have been making quality pocket knives at an affordable price for the past few years.
Wait until you get into the high-end Chinese knife manufacturers like Reate and Rikeknife. They make some of the best production knives in the world, beating many US manufacturers. Many custom knife makers in the US use Reate and Rikeknife to make production versions of their customs.
I have about 200 knives, including 19 Civivis, and the Conspirator is one of my absolute favorites. We and Civivi make excellent knives. I just picked up a Sencut Sacshe (budget Civivi) which is every bit as good as Civivi, except it has 9Cr blade steel which I'm fine with on a sub $50 knife.
I have no where near 200 knives but the Conspirator is my personal favorite at the moment. The only negative with Civivi knives is that hideous pocket clip. Can I buy a milled clip that will fit my Conspirator without any mods?
....smdh
@@markjerstad4664 Civivi has milled titanium clips at their Amazon store. They're about $13 and they fit several of their knives including the Conspirator, but you have to get the extra set of screws for $1 more that make the clip compatible with more of their knives. I just ordered one for my Conspirator.
@@erict149 Thanks I looked right after my comment and found them. Already ordered one for my Conspirator. The knife sits a little higher in your pocket with the milled clip but should be fine.
@@markjerstad4664 No problem. Glad you found them. I agree that Civivi's clips aren't the greatest. I've heard quite a few people complain about them. I'm surprised they haven't changed them yet. Still love their knives though. Kizer make excellent knives at a decent price as well. Check them out if you haven't yet.
I have one, its great. A little lock stick but not a problem. Nice and slicey, came sharp and so far easy to strop right back into shape.
Seeing this review reminded me that I have a Conspirator with black blade and green micarta scales. Rummaged through one of my knife drawers and there it was looking sad and lonely. I had to put it back into use for EDC and temporarily retire the Cogent Damascus I have been carrying for a year. The Conspirator is a bit larger and heavier than the Cogent and doesn't seem to take quite as sharp an edge as the Damascus blade. Both very nice EDC knives for the money.
Companies like We/Civivi, Kizer and Kubey are absolutely killing it right now. Their designs and build quality are miles ahead of companies like Kershaw and Buck.
@SmokedEdge I was the same way “USA only” until I handled a Civivi Elementum my buddy had. I get it though, and respect the whole USA only thing.
Agreed. I have more Civivis (19 + 3 We and 1 Sencut) than any other brand and I love every one of them. 6 Kizers which are all excellent and their action is hard to beat at any price. Recently got the Kubey 322 which is awesome for $40. The We Mini Malice is outstanding, though it is a bit expensive. And the Vosteed Bellamy (Kizer OEM) is one of my favorite knives in my collection.
@@A-Fern The Elementum was the first Civivi I bought and I was instantly hooked. I now own 19 Civivis and counting. They make excellent knives for the price.
@SmokedEdge You're definitely missing out on some great knives, but I respect your choice to not buy Chinese. I just love knives too much and there are so damn many good ones coming out of China, it's hard to resist. And I gotta give We some credit for using American made steel for their blades.
WE and Civivi are Chinese
I also am a knife enthusiast and own a number of Civivi knives and absolutely love them all. They are reliable, affordable, good looking and I carry one almost on a daily basis. I think my favorite is my Cogent, which is also a button lock that is very user friendly, but they are all great knives. Thank you and God Bless
Button lock is such an alternative I won’t stop looking at them.
I have several Civivi knives. I like budget friendly knives that work. I like the D2 steel options. I have several Elementums. I have a few other models. I had a problem with 1 knife not locking open. Customer service was amazing. I sent it back and the found a small magnet from my stuff had stuck up inside. They fixed it, sharpened it, and polished it up and sent it back at no charge. I can’t speak highly enough.
So I watched your video, bought the exact model as in the video. All I can say is wow! You hit the review dead on. This knife is excellent. I have over 100 knives, folders, fixed blades, OTF, automatic from high dollar to cheap. This things holds it own with any priced knife. EDC ELITE FOR $80 BUCKS
Nice to hear I am not alone in my findings. Thanks for sharing 👍
I like this blade in use, its feel in gand and love the looks.
If this had a thicker tip with upgraded steel I would like it as much as my Mordax which I very much love.
I'm from a small, 1100 years old country in Europe. We have our beautiful traditional slipjoint knives with super strong springs so it is a two hand work to open tem but they hold strong. I have my grandparents' 100yo knives just like my parents' one. I see no point in spending a price on a Chinese mass product when for the same price or less I can buy a handmade artwork from a local workshop and it will last a century.
I picked up the Civivi Cogent, which is similar and also a nice knife. My Kizer Begleiter XL came in yesterday and it's so nice. Flipper, thumb stud, and button lock; its the way to go imo.
This knife has been my favorite EDC for the past 2 years. I wish the flipper was a little more powerful. It opens nicely with a finger flick. The bottom lock is top notch
I still love it!!!
I’ve been happy with all my WE and Civivi knives. Agree with your perspective
I have a prototype Gerber I helped test from 15 years ago thats just like that knife. It was an assisted knife but they removed the assist and used a different, beefier bushing system. Still carry that knife today. Its been abused on rafting snd hunting trips here in the PNW from day one.
Can you give a model name?
Just got a conspirator a few days ago. The never-ending quest for the perfect, affordable and just-tough-enough edc. I'm thrilled with it. Gave it a perfect worksharp convex edge, squared off the spine forward of the jimping for ferro rods. Tried a similar sencut, I think it was the sasche, but the studs really sucked and was just awkward feeling. For the past couple years it's been a gonzo or sencut in my pocket, but they just got demoted! Plan to get a spare too. Excellent knife.
Just saw a video on the Sencut sanshe. I thought this was it also. Looks about the same. I saw Sanshe got blade show budget knife of the year
@@beanie0026 after tryin both, days apart, this conspirator just deploys better every which way, vs that sachse, for me anyhow. I loved the little sencut i’ve been toting, a lil flipper with studs, scepter, worked perfect, not so much with the sachse 🤷🏻♂️ had more side to side play when twisted carving wood too. But, like $80 vs $47 also. Tried a chevalier, wasn’t thrilled with the sheepsfoot and it’s blade/tip thinness/flex carving soft wood.
I took myself away from the knife world for a long time and I've just kind of rejoined. I started with a Benchmade 940.
Next was a Civivi Brazen with "Damascus" blade. Not sure if it really is damascus, but it sharpens up well.
I've been blown away and how good the Brazen was. Fit was great, finish was great - there is one thing I believe is a defect - one face of the flipper lever has a canted grind . Like I said - I've been away from knives for over a decade, so I don't have a lot to compare with, but I think the Brazen's action is very satisfying. It's smoot and has an authroitative click. It's really nice
But less than a week after getting my first Civivi I'm buying my second . I think that tells you what I think about Civivi.
And last night less than a week later I ordered the Green Micarta, Black Blade Conspirator - should be here tommorrow along with a new strop.
I almost feel like I might become a Civivi collector, but I have been told there is a lot of inexepensive quality out there these days, so I guess I just need to wait and see where I land.
PS my real weakness was Busse Combat fixed blades, but I don't go bush any more... but I still crave that INFI. I haven't gone "there" since I've been back into knives - but the HOG trough is calling. I can sniff a whiff of it every now and then.
Civivi sells an aftermarket titanium pocket clip in stainless or black with screw sets to fit most of their models. They're about fifteen bucks. I have a Praxis, Cogent, Dogma, Exarch and two Conspirators in my Civivi collection so far. Apart from some button stick on the wooden handled Conspirator I have no complaints with any of them.
The conspirator is a very good finished and functional knife.I like mine a lot.
I've been carrying a Kershaw, (Brookside) my nephew got me for Christmas 4 years ago. I have took it apart and cleaned it once in that time,(got sticky) . Sharpens easily and holds a fine edge. It's lightweight, dark color blade and ease of opening are very appealing. Never owned a Benchmade or equivalent. This little Kershaw drop point has been fantastic in hunting, fishing, EDC, opening, breaking down boxes etc. Just a great knife. I used to be a Case Trapper guy as it is an excellent small skinning knife, with a clip point to boot. The Case is just heavy with even the smaller version being much heavier than the Brookside. One blade in a folding outdoor carry knife could be an issue but most of us carry a fixed blade in or on our pack, if not on our person. It's just usually bigger and sometimes smaller is better, especially skinning, cutting or preparing food etc.
The civivi knives hit the sweet spot for price and quality for an EDC that you can risk losing or damaging. If i have something on me that costs 2 or 3 times as much, I'll be more cautious of it, but my civivi gets the job done and if i lose it i won't kick myself for months.
Of course, sometimes you need that quality and you risk it, but just around the backyard, unexpected fishing or a bbq? An elementum, conspirator or praxis is perfect. Also great fidgets.
I find the Civivi offerings to be solid but vanilla at the same time. I think they are raising the bar on the budget line knives but people will continue to seek out more inspired designs too.
Not to mention that their prices have gone up.
Yep, they are good, but mostly boring looking, at least to me
I have the same one and I absolutely love it. It's always competing with my PM2 and Bugout for carry.
I have 3 civivis and I gotta say I love all of them. I like the nitro v as a "budget" steel.
Nice folder! It's got my attention for a future purchase for sure!! Thanks for a great review!!
Got the Civivi Conspirator in Damascus. It is so handy and fun. Though some dont like it I love mine
You need to check out the Vosteed raccoon and the Civivi cogent Those are heavy hitters!!
I have the raccoon. It is a sweet blade.
@@gideonstactical I just got the raccoon. Very very nice but I just got the Civivi Cogent also Cogent is way better in my opinion
WE/Civivi have a LOT of good offerings, but the button lock is where it's at, in my view. And of their button lock knives, the Conspirator is the hotness.
Great, informative, entertaining, and enthusiastic review! Thanks!
I bought the Civivi Cogent with this button lock, and when the Conspirator came out, I got the wood-handled one as well as the green Micarta version. Great knives, blade shape on all is terrific. When I saw Kizer had a new Gemini model with a button lock and a CPM-4V blade, I had to try it. My Conspirators and Cogent now sit in the drawer, but if I lose my Gemini I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the micarta handled Conspirator. Great knife.
What’s the Kizer you carry now?
I have several Civivi knives and I love them all! I don't have the Conspirator yet but have been wanting to try the Nitro V. Thanks for the breakdown!
If you like the Civivis you have, you'll love the Conspirator. Civivi's best knife IMO. And Nitro-V is awesome. Very similar to 14C28N.
I’m pretty ignorant and wanted my first folder so I did some research and chose the conspirator. Friggin love it
Dude, that beard is TIGHT! Good for you!
Haha thanks
Civivi Conspirator, sweet blade for an edc gear carry. I have one and I first thought blah whatever price is nice took it home ? Used it for a week, and oh very nice ! Cuts were clean opening is not was because it still is smooth. No negative issues except when my daughter took it to her workplace and used it to cut one of theose huge thick fruit boxes, it got a nip on the blade edge took it out with a plate yup a dish plate ? Chinese way of sharpening knives #lifehack ? It also got side to side movement but took that out with a tap to the blade pivot. She did say she got three in half passes till the blade stop ? Due to it getting hot ? After two years it still gets used for what it's for a cutting tool.
This is a really great EDC knife! I’ve been carrying this almost exclusively since I got it last year.
Thanks for the review Aaron. I have the Civivi elementum button lock 3.5 inch in 14c28n. Love it!! Fun to operate easy to carry. Conspiritor seems like a beefier version with other opening options.
I whish they would add a rear flipper tab on the Elementum Button lock knife .
Nitro V , button lock , micarta, ...... all of these at this price, it's a solid VFM. Civivi is showing the way how to provide at a budget, products that put a smile at the customers face. I got a Elementum , and it is great!
I absolutely love my conspirator!!! I’ve had it for maybe 3 or 4 months? It’s amazing!!! Its handle and blade shape remind and resemble my spyderco shaman. Love the conspirator.
"Not a fan of anything not US made"... (the price was right so) I did buy a civivi elementum and I liked it. Recently bought a sencut sache and I love it. US knife companies need to step their game up!
I finally got myself one for my birthday (October of last year) after eyeing it the whole summer, it has not left my pocket since (with the exception of when I carry my balisong to practice flipping). Probably the best “do it all” button lock edc out there for the price hands down. My only cons are that the pins are slightly losened and the Damascus steel versions edge retention is slightly under what I was hoping for but I have no regrets about selecting that option. Cheers
Bought this in green and black, and this has removed my para 3 and benchmade's from my pocket. There is no knife on the market for $ this good. Grab one now the price on these is going to jump like $70 real fast.
Throwing Kizer into that ring as well. I just got my cormorant with micarta and it’s… incredible. Smooth, great steel, fun.
I mean it was Protech that brought about the button lock renaissance with the Malibu. But Civivi have run with the ball! I have the Conspirator and love it.
Don't forget your fourth option and middle finger flip it!!! I have the conspirator and it really is an amazing knife!!
I have the ultem version of this, it’s been my edc for a couple months, great knife
Like the Conspirator, have it in the Cuibourtia wood and it has the wood smell, Great knife and review👍
Love American made knives, an Civivi is right up there with them.
I don't own a Civivi but really like the look of this knife and now, after you're review, gonna order it.
Ball bearings? No use outdoors. All these knife manufacturers using these ball bearing pivots, just so people can show off. Pity. I use my knives while backpacking and hiking. Thank God for the Benchmade Bugout, still the king! It’s funny the video shows the knife working outdoors on a wood stump. This is a coffee table knife. A letter opener.
Nice knife! I wouldn’t have known about this one without your video.
My only experience with civivis button lock was their first, the Cogent. The detent on the blade was just so loose so it did not make for a fun flipping knife
Great review, only just started looking at these knives, I'm a fan of the beacon too
I have 5 Civivi’s and The Conspirator is by far my favorite.
Knife center just announced this knife in s35vn for only $97. I have the nitro-v version. Can’t wait to get this s35vn version.
Sick!
I just received mine from Blade HQ and absolutely love it. In some regards it better than some of my more expensive knives. Civivi nailed this one!!!!!
button lock means no springs. i don't do springs
If you can have 1 EDC and you have to choose between the Civivi Conspirator and NOx, which one will you take and why? Would you go for a Damaskus blade or a stonewashed Nitro-V?
Enjoyed the video. Built mine and love it. Thank you.
You forgot spidy flick. I just picked one up and love it
I got my conspirator very shortly after it came out. Its barely left my pocket since, easily one of my favorites. I did swap one of the older style civivi pocket clips, because i prefer them over the new ones though.
Do the older style clips move side to side less than the new ones?
@@EarlyMist its about the same, if you have nice torx drivers, and if you crank the clip screws down nice and tight, neither of the civivi clips will move side to side. I like the older style clip because the tip of the clip lays more flat and the new ones flare out creating a small hot spot in the hand and can get caught on things I brush up against.
My favorite brand right now love um buy one you will see
i love the look and the micarta handle. I'm heading over to the site to check them out as we speak. Thanks for the review my friend.
Not to mention the Civivi and Sencut knives under 50 bucks that are amazing as well. No American based manufacturer can touch them.
I like the beglatier xl button lock that thing is sweet. I like this knife I was looking at options but the we soothsayer dropped and I got that instead.
Gideon bro I’ll tell you why I think your channel is great. You are living the freaking dream dude. I love to be in the woods myself or at least around them and woods for miles behind the house I always like that kind of thing always have and always will. If it wasn’t for gas and a few hills I probably wouldn’t work. Thinking of going all solar and battery vehicles or at least one battery vehicle . He’s freaking butt holes down here at Lordstown motors are supposed to have a truck out already. That’s where I’m at anyways by meander Reservoir. I can go in there but I hardly do there’s plenty of land all around it
Hi folks! Greatings from Russia! Civivi makes a mind-blowing knives. Fit'n'finish, materials, overall quality and especially price totally awesome!
I don’t have the Conspirator but I have 2 of the button lock Civivi Cogent’s (one partially serrated one not)and a button lock Civivi Altus. The Altus is Nitro V and the Cogents are 14c28n. I’m fine with either steel. They are great knives. I’m a collector and also have a couple WE knives that are fantastic. My WE Subjugator is my favorite knife. It’s a titanium frame lock with CPM20CV blade steel for around $230. It’s priced favorably compared to ZT with similar materials. I’m a fan of Civivi. But there’s some other good knives coming out of china. Petrified Fish Beluga and mini Beluga are great. Kizer has some nice options. QSP Hawk and Penguin are good options. I have a titanium and 154cm Penguin I picked up for $90. American companies definitely need to step up their game.
I love my CIVVI knives. I do not have this one yet, but it is on my list.
It’s sick!!
If you add the civivi titanium clip to this it's the perfect knife.
Real Steel also makes some excellent knives for very cheap....like the Archangel!
To be legal EDC in the UK, a pocket knife must not lock and must have a blade length of three inches or less.
I like this knife but I like the CJRB Pyrite even more (even though fixed blades > folders) Great review as always!
Unfortunately it really is coming down to the fact that when we buy from China , we are cutting our own throat…no pun intended. So I will not buy Chinese anymore especially since there are just as good a deals on US made or really knives made almost anywhere else.
Just as good of deals?
I'm with you on not wanting to buy from China anymore than neccessary...but there's no American companies producing solid mid grade knives at, or even near these price points. Maybe a couple assisted Kershaws...
Same thing with hand tools.
There's a handful of premium manufacturers making premium priced stuff.
There's no reason we couldn't have $50 frn & 14c28n bugouts & the like.
There is no American company doing anything USA made that is competative with Civivi at anywhere near the same price point. In fact nearly all budget offerings from American companies are made in China. They aren't American made. Just like the device you used to post your comment.
People are doing the best that they can with their their earned $$$'s. There is no way I would advise anyone to buy a Chinese made product from an American company over something made by Civivi.
@0311catfish Your right , I’m just as guilty I sold my soul for cheap Chinese garbage. Enough though ,if I can’t afford a decent countries goods I just don’t need it!
Hell, I'm still buying stuff shipped from Russia. Prefer small, American businesses whenever possible though.
Agree
I don’t have this one (I want it now haha) but I did just pick up the new released Civivi Banneret which is also in nitro v steel. Man I’m loving it.
I’m new to this hobby and I’m learning real quick that I don’t make enough to fund my wants hahaha
I just got one of these with the green micarta and love it. I have a couple other mid tier knives like Spyderco and Benchmade, but something about the civivi I feel like I can carry it and not feel bad if I have to actually use it. I just hope that they start to branch out a bit more with locking mechanisms. My axis lock and bearing lock Benchmade and Spyderco are some of my favorite, but the button lock is a close second. Liner locks just aren't really my thing and most of their knives are unfortunately that.
Ball bearings (which these knives use) generally suck, they are prone to damaging the liners (especially titanium liners) and consequently having side to side play, also they attract dirt etc. A well made phosphorus bronze washer operated knife is always superior.
I like the looks, has a great action, and seems like it is a good edc knife. No experience with either Civivi or We knife companies but the fact they are Chinese does not bother me. Hey if QC is good that is all that matters.
Got to hand it out to civi ! I bought a push button elimentom sorry if not spelled correctly ill correct myself when the time arrives ! Any ways uh yeah the day I bought its been in my pocket since and it's been two months ? Doesn't sound to long but for my knives that's a long time ! Not even my blurpule pm2 hasn't got that time in pocket.
I think civi is my new edc knife ?
Awesome 👏
I can't really tell for sure, but based on what looks like a very thin line of shiny edge showing in front of that blade coating it would appear to be fairly thin behind the edge, also slicing looked pretty effortless. If so, that is great and is the main issue I wish most of these companies would remedy.
It was quite good 👍
The Conspirator was the sharpest out of the box I bought. First try on Nitro V . The overall design and build was above acceptable, just wanted more from the feel of the button lock action ( more mechanical, more travel and most of all bank vault feel). I decided to try Kizer and now I’m going for another Civivi button lock Stormhowl. Got high hopes for it, but heard it seems smaller in person twice so far. If all else fails, I’ve still got Conspiriator to fall back on and it’s a folder, not going to be used hard. Haven’t used Paramilitary 2 as a hard use knife or compared it to Conspirator, but they seem touted for such. I’ll probably always rely on fixed blade knives even in EDC role in the pocket sheath. Esse CR 2.5 I’ve had the longest in that role, but going to try LionSteel Willy and Viper Knives Handy in the role of fixed blade in the pocket sheath EDC role when Stormhowl comes in. I’ve got great camp knife and outdoor knives Giant Mouse GMF4, Bark River Bravo Tope Recon and Earth Skills Knife as well as at least 5 Bark River Fixed Blade knives in an array for outdoors or belt knives. I want to compare Bark River Fox River EXT-2 LT to Fox River II LT and GMF4 basically designs/ HT and CPM 3V vs. N690. It might be moot with CPM Magnacut being both tough and with corrosion resistance. I think N690 can have more edge holding, but 3V is tougher than 4V which is said to give performance like Magnacut. I lean towards having a lot of properties in balance which can be enough for my use while not sacrificing corrosion resistance like in my stainless revolvers and long guns.
G'day Aaron, yep cant ask much more than that for the dough. Surprised you mentioned a little rock side to side on bearings, I only have a few bearing jobs, but definitely none of that. A filler plate would be nice to round it out, but hey man I reckon it could easily be a one and done EDC for a lotta folks. Not that I need it, but I'm considering it anyway just because it hits the mark so well.
Cheers Duke.
I only have a 4-5 knives. Civivi Brazen is the best overall for the price (also have an Off-Grid Enforcer and a Boker Plus Thunder Storm automatic).
