It'd be nice if the S23+ was the S23 Ultra without the pen and just a tad bid smaller rather than an inferior device. I have no interest in the Ultra because of the size and my lack of need for the S-Pen, but I can't downgrade the RAM, the screen resolution and the micro-SD expansion from my S20+.
s23 ultra is like s22 ultra for taken over the note series which is top of the range phone. And stoped at note 20 so ultra s23 is note 23
Yea fuck anything that doesn't have a MicroSD expansion slot.
@@zZiL341yRj736 I'm even more screwed cause I use 2 SIM cards, hybrid slots are too rare now
I agree 💯
Totally agree with you. Merging with note fcked the Galaxy S series hard. S22 with exynos was unusable phone due to small battery and why S23+ have 2 year old main camera module is beyond my understanding
The fact Samsung took away the expandable storage option is super disappointing. That was a key benefit that made them stand out from the iPhone 🤦🏿♂️
Well it is understandable because they make more money from it but facts, they would probably be more popular if they still had it.
Picked up my new s23 plus today for only like $300 trading in a zfold 4. (coming from s22 ultra). I guess I was wrong about the plus model having much less quality of a display. It feels much more comfortable than the Ultra model, and significantly lighter. For some reason, it even feels a little better than the s22 plus. The edges are almost completely flat, and it has a more premium feel.
Not to mention, it feels much much faster and smoother! I definitely think the plus model is worth it.
Z flip or s 23 plus which will you recommend? I want to buy one of those
Whats the Screen On Time you getting on it?
@rachaelchiamaka s23 plus 100 percent, m using last 4 months amazing fone,
I honestly would pay the same price of the ultra if it was in a smaller size too. I'm considering the plus but I like compact phones
I have the plus and honesty seems like the ideal size , at least for me. Fits in my pocket, purse, etc. I didn't get the ultra because that's too big, but the plus is nice because there is enough space to type but not too big where it looks weird
Exactly this! Becasue to be honest, evn the s23 is a little but big for me comfortabilty. A 5.7 inch screen would be prfect in my opinion. But there is no reason that Eye have to settle for having inferior specs and and cameras and scren tech just to have an really good android phone that is actuall compact and not this "new compact" everyone is fronting and raving about!
@@jessicadonley4708 Hows it's overall performance and Screen On Time?
Sameeeeeee
This is making me want to get an IPhone Pro
Thanks SuperSaf for giving the main info, looking forward to your camera comparisons/reviews.

Feeling really underwhelmed with this year's trade in value and pre-order "gifts". Seems like I'm keeping my S10 for a little longer. And yes, we will always ask for expandable storage because they clearly have the technology to do it but they are choosing not to include it. Why have it in the middle range phones but not your "flagship"?
Because they are greedy and they want people to have to spend the extra money to pay $100 or more for internal storage when it probably costs them pennies.
I'm still rocking my S10+, and it still works like it's brand new. Not sure if I'll upgrade.
Exactly. I'm not impressed with this phone either. Same thing every year. I feel as though we're all catching on to the game 🥱.
I have the s10 too the best ever
And talk about the increase cost when everything else already has in our lives, USA gets same price while others don't, Samsung's playing with knives, (the Apple of Android) S10 plus will be legendary.
@Pulkit Sharma don't forget the punch hole camera in the corner. I'm using the s10 right now but I'm looking to upgrade. Might have to cop the s23 ultra when the black friday deals come out tho
The S23+ is perfectly fine. Main thing I've noticed is zoomed pics are rather blurry after 6x zoom on the + compared to the ultra but both take really nice pictures at 1x. Been using both for 2 weeks now and the + is the more useable option to me as the size is perfect and never use the S pen. If you have the option then get the s23+ and a decent tablet for gaming/video.
Whats ur opinion about it now? Are the differences that small? Im debating between the + and the ultra since the ultra is the best of the best but the + just fits my hands a lot better
@alessiodeseck6437 opinion hasn't changed. I've stuck with the + and gave the ultra to my partner as she is obsessed with taking photos every day. I use the Tab S8 ultra for video and gaming with a controller. Couldn't get used to the much larger screen for touch gaming.. The + is still large in your pocket but the ultra stuck out and I always thought I would lose it.
😂Do you think the S23+ screen is really bad?
I've experienced e yellowish front camera in s23 ultra and I sold it now
What do you say about s23+ front camera hiw it works in warm lights? Is it yellowish or captures a good temperature ?
I considered the Plus, but I ended up getting the Ultra and I am glad I did because I use the Periscope lens and S-pen quite often, more than I thought I would. The 10x optical zoom comes in handy when taking pictures of the moon, and 30x zoom still looks pretty clear on the Ultra. The only downside to the Ultra is the cumbersome size, but luckily for me most of my shorts and pants have deep pockets since I am a dude. The extra size is nice for watching videos, shows, and movies though.
I just wish Samsung considers making flat displays for the Ultra models. Keep the curved displays for the Z fold models
I wish, we could get a video comparison of the S21utra, S22ultra and the S23 ultra 🤗
I really wish they had an option for 12gig ram for the 23+. I rarely use the S pen or the camera. My main concern is the large battery and ram to help future proof the phone for at least 3 years. I am still on my Note 10+ and it would feel weird to downgrade to 8 gigs. Thanks for the video. You definitely provided a lot of informative information.
I'm curious why you feel you need 12gb of RAM? I use an S20 with 8gb and I have plenty of needs but more memory isn't one of them...as in ivd never had the phone lag for lack of memory. Thoughts?
@Abdul Rahman Noor when 10 plus apps are open especially work centered individuals. Yes it does make a difference. They better not do this for the Z folds.
@@AbdulRahmanNoor You're probably right. I too keep my phone for at least 4 years and I just like having the sense of security that it stays future proof.
@@AbdulRahmanNoor how is the s20 performance as of now? I am confused between iPhone 14 and S23 and would like to know how a Samsung flagship does long-term.
In settings, you can do "RAM PLUS" to extend your RAM-built-in. 😜
So you will get until 16GB RAM ... 🙃
In my opinion Samsung had the perfect phone with the S21 ultra, it was a big phone on paper but in hand was only slightly bigger than the iPhone 13 Pro. Samsung should of turned the larger plus into that if they wanted to bring the note back so bad.
my battery is so bad on my 21 ultra and it over heats so fast especially when using the camera. I hate the look of the 23 ultra but i need a good camera. i wish it looked like the standard 23.
@@sarahbabylove13 yeah same, it’s a shame that Samsung gimp the other galaxy phones. Could have the same specs minus the stylus, size and battery. No reason whatsoever for the s23 and s23+ being inferior products.
S21 has such a pretty design. The newest Samsungs looks goofy but that camera oh my god
yess im on my 21 ultra rn, i love it but its definitely showing its age
buying samsung phones are a joke
Some things have changed, however nothing drastic, and it's still almost the same as the Note 10+. One of the better Samsung phones to this day. I'm using the Fold 4 now and the new ones can't really match it in anything
It appears green is the new it color for high end phones. It looks great on the Pixel 7 Pro and looks lovely on the new Galaxy Ultra.
As usual, you uncover them the exact moment the unpacked event starts. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Don't be surprised people are asking about the sd card cause they're gonna keep asking until we finally get it back 😂. And yes I know why they removed it but people still use it which is why a lot of people don't wanna buy newer phones since it's expensive to get one with bigger storage and they don't wanna use the cloud.
Hi, why did they remove it?
I basically rotate between big and small phone every year. Never felt the need for the features of ultra. This time I traded my s22+ in for s23.
I went with the S23, as I'm tired of big phones and wanted something compact. Picked up the 256gb version for $759 from Amazon, popped in my Mint Mobile sim and transferred my data from my old OnePlus 8Pro.
i'm using oneplus8p too. Both 23 and 23+ are good, I dont know which one should buy😂😂
Same situation 😂 I'm happy with my OnePlus 8 Pro, but the S23 is soooo impressive phone that I'm now thinking about switching... but don't know which device should I buy... the display better on the base model (because the screen is smaller with the same resolution therefore it has higher PPI), and its compact, better to use, but it has less of ROM, only 128GB... if I would choose the 256GB version, for this price I could get the Plus version 😅...
Haha only person that I've seen also uses mint mobile I feel like it's underrated it is almost as good as my parents verizon plans
@@HosaBosaI use mint too. Sooo underrated. Less than $300 for a year of service
Love the s23. Perfect size

The Super Saf Way...... 👌 . Can't wait for your Z Fold 5 Videos, if Samsung listens to its customers the way it did with the Samsung president in 2010.
Hey. It will be good if you do a comparison between the s22 and s23. Also keep up with the good videos.
I’m really satisfied with Samsung‘s One U8 operating system because it has more convenient and more free custom settings than Apple.
There are people who raise their hands on iPhone photos because they love artificially contrasting images, but experts all know that Samsung, which has superior dynamic range expression, is better.
In particular, there is no ghost phenomenon, and the stability and color expression of 8K video is so great that it can’t be compared to the iPhone.
Now that the AP doesn‘t lag behind, I don’t feel the need to use Apple, which makes you feel like you‘re stuck in a well-appointed prison, with a zero-value-price component.
I commend Samsung for not giving up and working diligently even though the profit rate is low.
Apple, which takes profiteering without development for consumer rights, needs to work harder.
The Samsung S22 trade-in values with Samsung for the S23 are TERRIBLE compared to last year. What a massive disappointment.
They only giving me $500 for my S22U 512GB. Nope.
Also when adding a phone for a trade in the discounts disappear for the storage increase value that is "free"
Theyll increase it in a month or so
That's good for Samsung to offer low trade in value. It means I can skip upgrading this year... I've been upgrading every year since the s6 because of the high trade in value and pre-order bonuses. Money is tight this year...
Same here, I had a great value when I purchased my S21+ 2 years ago with the pre-order deals. I don't think I'll upgrade, simply because it doesn't make sense financially.
Also, it doesn't look like the new devices offer significantly more.
Big fan, really love ur content over the years.
I was waiting for this review Super Saf🫶 thanks and greetings from Scotland🏴✌️

Really happy we got the memory upgrade offer here in the UK! my S7Edge died in November so couldn’t do trade in anyway. Not to mention we get snapdragon on this one. Pre-ordering it shortly 🎉
I'm trading in a broken S8+ over here in Ireland and getting €175 trade in for it.....are you sure they won't take it as a broken phone trade in?
@@StuieHunter Sadly I wasn’t up to date on backups so while I have most my images since they were on micro SD card I do still have a lot of data on the S7Edge that’s inaccessible. While there’s no current fix I’d rather pay more to keep the s7 edge to eventually attempt to extract the data in future.
Are you serious S7 edge lol why not wait for Space Lazers as well 🤣
@@Wiseguyy007 😄Kept the S7 edge while it still worked since it did everything I needed it to. Will probably do the same with the S23U tbh

Are the filters for the camera the same? Specifically the portrait filter.
Hi saf, how come the Samsung credit doesn't work in the UK? Samsung store credit would have been nice to have, so far pre order bonuses have been quite disappointing
Ultrawide band support (Ultra only) is also a huge difference if anyone uses smarttag+
whats that?
How come? They all use the same Snapdragon gen 2 SoC and the same modems.
Always been an iPhone user, currently have a 13pro. I want to give Samsung a try this year, which version would you suggest?
I'm looking to add some ND filters to mine for video and photography but there doesn't seem to be any for the s23/s23 plus, just the s23 ultra, which is what i don't want. Also, is the 24fps only in the video pro mode or is it now available as one of the default modes? Thanks
Thanks for your very informative any concise comparison. As usual, you get across all the important information. You should be presenting for Samsung at the Unpacked event.
Looking forward to camera comparison reviews against iPhone and S22 Ultra.
I have S22 U and ordered S23 U.
The differences are negligible, imo the upgrade is not justified unless you just wanna have the latest phone
it is a great time to pick up the S22 + and ultra right after the s23 releases
Great video thanks for the advice
Is the super stedy uppdated and inproved on both s23 and ultra?
Well the Ultra has much more new features and here in Holland the S23+ is just way too expensive for what you get. For me, I would normally go for the compact S23 but I couldn't resist a crazy carrier deal for S23 Ultra 1tb (just 60,- more than 512gb after cashback). With carrier discount, a 240,- cashback and a Watch5 lte I'm paying only 850,- for the 1tb S23 Ultra, while the S23 256gb (with only 60,- cashback) is still 800,-.
So sure I went for the big boy and I'm loving it
Where'd you get it?
Looking forward to the 8K video recording which should have no cropping compared to 4K, the same as on all Samsung phones with 50MP sensors, such as Fold4. The 9-to-1 binning of the 108MP sensor was the main reason for cropping. The 200MP sensor allows 4-to-1 binning, resulting in 50MP, i.e. the same cropping as in case of 4K. actually, 2x more area of the sensor will now be used compared to the 108MP sensor before.
So in your opinion, which camera is best for vlogging and filming UA-cam videos? I'm not familiar yet with all the jargon you used.
@Yesenia the more expensive the phone, the better the camera. although that doesn't mean you need THE newest. I'm still on my s20 Fe (the cheaper version) and the camera works great
Hi saf i am big of u . Watching ur videos for 5 years completed now

Amazing! The S23 Ultra Is My Favorite Out Of All 3 Of Them.
Saf, you are right: 24 FPS is the "Pro frame rate". The good news is that 8K at 24FPS is still there in "Pro mode"😀.
Why on earth would anyone use 8K? Huge files and nothing to watch it on! 😂

@@arvandvarahram 8K is still an overkill. Most average Humans cannot even distinguish a FHD and a QHD display let alone a 4K or an 8. It's just a gimmick. To truly distinguish them you need a massive TV that can handle 8K , just why

Hey Great Honest Review 👍😀👍. I chose the S23+ Over The S23 Ultra for Two Main Reasons: 1. Design Asthetics; The Flat 'RECTANGULAR!' Slab of Gorilla Glass and Metal Sandwich with its sharp Squared Corners That is The S22 Ultra ('Ultra' is Samsungs Rebranded label for the 'Note' after the Horrible Samsung Galaxy Note 7 'EXPLODING BATTERY PROBLEM!!!'). I prefer slightly Curved Edges on My Daily Driver Device. 2. Practicality and Usability; I've tried all three S23's and the reality is that there isn't really any 'Super' Significant Differences between the three S23's that the average person would really Understand or even Care About. The Pricing Didn't matter to me. I just wanted the very best Topend Smartphone that Actually Works Best for 'ME' 😸👍. (SERIOUSLY! Who Cares about the back color of your Smartphone. Any Intelligent Person who pays big bucks for a Topend Smartphone is Going to Use a "Wallet Case". Why?; Because Leather Smartphone Wallet cases have a Durable folding Cover that protects your Smartphones Screen when you put it in your pocket. The Best part is that they have a Built-in Leather Wrist strap that keeps your Expensive Valuable Smartphone from ever hitting the concrete if it Slipps out of your hand.)

Black Friday sale now
Wish they brought back the MicroSD! I know they haven't since the Ultra 2020 but they still have the exact same slot for it, refuse to buy Samsung MicroSD's because of that. I guess profits over sales 🤔 I'm just not sure on the profit part if I don't buy their phones.
Unfortunately there are too many others who will willing buy regardless of it

Great video brother..I will keep my s21 ultra for another year..
i have the s23 and honestly i have no complaints. great phone all around
S23 looks better than the s23 ultra but the ultra is just way better, so it's worth the price
I bought the Ultra about a week ago and I love my phone. I was an iPhone user for 7 years. I wanted a change because iphone only clone their phones with higher price. I had AndroidS in the past but never a Samsung. I just wish that Samsung could make the ultra a bit smaller for people who have small hands because we love quality too. I notice they want bigger but bigger isn't always better. The camera is a beast! Display is great! Brightness is amazing. How smart it is 8/10 could be better wjth voice activation. Just wondering does it still have dual recording
Great video as usual 😉
To start with I have S20+5G and had it for already over 2 years.
I would love to upgrade to the S23+ which would be the equivalent to what I have now but looking at the specs it seems like the screen isn't going to be as good. The reason I say this is because I have 525 Ppi on my screen and on the S23+ is about 100 ppi less than that. So my concern is that the screen performance isn't gonna be as good
Any thoughts on this 🤔
I wouldn't be concerned about your PPI being lower. The difference between QHD and FHD is going to be neglible when talking about phone screens. If you're talking about such high pixel density the difference becomes barely noticeable. Though something that is really important these days in displays is colors, contrast and brightness. Coming from your galaxy S20+ all of those aspects should be improved when switching to the S23+
Also, there are actually benefits from "downgrading" from QHD to FHD on a phone. One being battery life. 1440p eats through your battery compared to 1080p, while there is very little visual difference. I'd argue 1080p is the way to go for phone screens, as very few people will see the difference and it just takes away battery life.

The traid in value for my ZFold3 is only $490. Is that correct? It's in perfect condition and I thought I would have gotten a lot more for it. I remember getting a much larger trade in value when i traded in my Note20Ultra for the ZFold3. Something seems off

@@mattd8670 yes, the ultra can do it like s22 ultra but 23 and 23+ can't go down to 1hz
What size sim do I need for the s23 ultra, is it a mini , micro or nano thanks in advance.
Does anyone know how the camera is? The s22 has a serious lag/delay. Trying to take a picture of someone shooting a basketball or swinging a bat is nearly impossible. You miss it every time because of the delay. Also when taking pictures of moving objects, then end up blurry.
Any insight on the s23 camera in this regard is highly appreciated! Thank you!
Great review as always! Thank you!
Would this be a good upgrade from the note 20?
I think so yes
It sure why the heck i wasnt already subscribed. I feel like i have hit the sub on you so many times. Lol. Thanks for the comparison between different versions.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus. Great Video. Here in UK
Rather than watch the unboc event, I waited for your review. Not sure if I'm upgrading this year though as I'm on S22 ultra.
I much prefer the design on the S23 and S23+ to the Ultra model. Sadly specswise it’s just not good enough.
They are actually very close in real world usage
The ultra is better at zooming and 200mp mode but for general photography, they all take very similar looking photos
Coming from the S20 FE to the to S23 Ultra, I'm very underwhelmed. It's an amazing phone, but not $1300 amazing, at least compared to the now very cheap S20FE.
copy that. went from s20 se to s23. it's a great phone but s20fe is not that far behind.
I went from an Exynos S20 FE to an S23 and performance wise it's a big leap
I have S22 plus right now, and comparing it with the S23 series, I don't any major upgrades over its predecessor. So, I will be keeping my S22 plus for now, and maybe wait for S24 series to release next year
I have s21+ and I'll wait n gonna upgrade to S24.
They may put exynos on the s24 lol
Your video is so informative and so good than Mr, whosethboss
Love you brother
Battery life 🔋 biggest question
Yes
I decided to preorder the Lavender S23+, 512gb. That storage will last me forever, and it's better than the S22 Ultra IMO. I will miss the S-pen, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make.
Me too, except I bought the green one. I can't stand sharp corners on a phone and TBH I really don't need 1440p on my phone. I got the 512GB for the same price as the 256GB. And I surely don't regret the lack of SD card slots on these top-end phones. I mean c'mon they are slow as heck. It's like asking a flagship notebook to have a built in zip drive. I couldn't justify getting the S23 Ultra even though it was a measly $8 more per month than the S23+. Why? Because I can't confidently carry a $1,200 phone with a curved glass display around without insurance. And I am not buying anymore insurance than my Otterbox Defender Pro provides. Plus I literally will have paid $440 for my S23+ without trading in a dang thing. I can't beat that in 2023.
@@m.sm.1159 exactly what I did with T-Mobile's offer, except I got mine for $200. Only slight downside is that I gotta send in my S22 Ultra, but... Eh. I'm alright with that.

I do prefer a charger in the box. I like the + plus. I would love the Ultra if it wasn’t for the square corners. Your credit works in U.S. not Canada?
