We are on version 2.0 of arched wire trellis. The not-heavy-enough version last year required emergency measures to prevent collapse. Squash (and a few beans) grew great. This year the wire is heavier and tho' planting was late I anticipate a crop in time for winter storage (butternut and acorn). Thanks for another soul-satisfying episode with you in your happy place.
Hi Frankie Lou: I have cucs in my greenhouse that grow vertically as well. I saw a video that said to only allow one or two main stems to fruit and to remove any other branching points -can you please comment on this idea? Also, I have Spagetti squash in garden beds outside -can you please suggest what I could use to elevate them off the ground? And lastly, doesn’t the heaviness of Spagetti squash cause the trellises vines to crash to the ground or tear the vine? (Especially the ones that will form on the raised horizontal bars) thanks, I am really enjoying learning about your massive greenhouse! Green with envy, lol 😂

I'm glad you have a sturdy set up for your squash now, some of them get so huge! I hope you have an awesome harvest this year.
