I remember watching the detective Pikachu movie and thinking "Gee this city would be a fantastic Pokemon snap level."
I’m hoping for a city level in New Pokémon Snap
Nintendo should pay you something for that, I tell ya h'what.
That would be so cooooool.
I still want this game to be remade or even get a sequel with Pokémon from later generations.
Edit: My wish has been granted.
See, this would have been the perfect game to remake to go along with their cardboard vr thing they made for the Switch. I know I would have bought it for that reason alone.
Graybill Junker rip the Wii U dream
They need a massively extended remake where you get the first game and several following regions with several more generations of pokemon. Also maybe add stuff like unlockable free filters, different skins for the different tools and bait, and any thing else they can think of to expand the game.
They need to make a Pokémon Snap themed ride at Universal Studios.
Will never happen sadly. Gamefreak is to lazy. And even if they maybe make a sequel, they try for sure the DLC way, holding content back to sell later (like with Pokemon Sword&Shield)
I really loved the fact that if you sped up, slowed down, or watched behind you as you passed thru a scene, you could see different things than if you just went along via the track's normal progression. It really did make it all feel so real.
6:55 Um Actually Jirard, it's not an apple but "Apple-Shaped Poké Food" the game is frighteningly clear about this.
This is frightening indeed.
Pokemon Channel had fishing bait in the shape of donuts.
In new Pokemon Snap it's a "Fluff Fruit". They wanted to make totally clear, that those are not Apples, so they wouldn't hurt Pokemon. They just look 100% like an Apple. Not very convincing, but meh.
You: Mentions Satoru Iwata
me: Massive feels you didn't mean to cause.

7:48 I need a "Snorlax dances to Juicy for 10 hours" version of this.
You can't dance to juicy. Juicy does not create sounds. it's an adjective to describe fruits or something 🍄
David Bergmann bruhh you really need to like stop breathing completely if you never heard juicy by biggie smalls before
@@davidbergmann8948 you can’t dance to juicy, but you CAN dance to Juicy. The capitalization implies a proper noun, in this case being the song by Doja- people can in fact dance to songs. I’ve tried.
Fatal Frame was kind of a game about taking pictures.
one in which you lose your soul if you didnt get that game's professor oak (the ghost's) approval for your rating, quality and center of frame... Loved that game though, seriously underrated by the world at large (the PS2 version).
I like the notion that those were your two options. Pokemon Snap and Fatal Frame. Two games that could not be more opposite of one another.
but far more spooky
cult like actions and what not
@@SkilesHasFun Still are. I think? But we can now say Fatal frame franchise and pokemon snap series(?)
also a kind of game that gives you nightmares :P
Wow that Pokemon Snap music just filled me with some mad nostalgia
Did you know:
There's an official, unused music track from the game posted here on utub: from the spooky scary ghost mansion level!!
AverageJoe5050 You just both made and ruined my day. A SPOOKY MANSION LEVEL?! I am so upset that was never used!

there were only 3 ghoststs at the time, I wonder what else they coulda thrown in there. Zubat... and, uhh... Crobat... uuuhhhh-

"I wish they would"
It seems that your wish has been granted
As a kid I always helped the Jigglypuffs in the Cave stage just to play the Poke Flute on their performance to make them angry and take a picture. To this day, I still laugh

There was a photography segment in Sun&Moon and I loved it, it proved that they had the ability to do it again in a modern setting, using the gyro-controls, getting points based off social media instead of Oak's obligatory scaling, it was really refreshing
Not exactly the same but still very enjoyable. I spent more time taking pictures in S&M than the actual game.
This was actually a secret prediction video for New Pokémon Snap
im with everyone here when we say we NEED a Pokemon Snap sequel on the Switch.
Yes. We needed one ever since Johto happened, tbh. Would've been so freakin' awesome if we had gotten one every gen... T.T
I remember enjoying this game when it came out but haven't played it since then. I wouldn't mind diving back in.
The WiiU would've been an even better format
R.I.P with Pokemon being dead without innovation and hard work.
@@CloudWithoutASky Tfw when someone with the name of the main character of a worthlessly overhyped game says that...have fun finishing that reimagination of that game in 20 years, because ppl at SE are more busy counting their bucks and bickering amongst one another than with making games.
Literally clicked as soon as I got the notification. This game was an amazing part of my childhood. One of the first games my brothers actually let me play instead of just watching.

Anyone notice this was posted on April 29th of last year? When the new game comes out on the 30th of April this year...Weird lol
It all comes full circle
co-incidence i think not
Still play Pokémon Snap to this day.
It's my favorite Pokémon game.
I feel like Snap captures pokemania better than any other pokemon project~
I say for some of my favorite moments from each stage it would be as follows:
Beach: Pikachu hanging ten and the Eevee chasing Chansey.
Tunnel: Zapdos hatching from Pikachu's Thunderbolt using Thunder to bring the power back to the station.
Volcano: Luring all the Charmander together only for them to roar to at you when you're too close to them. Also it's cute when they call more of them only for them to be happy when you give them an apple.
River: Watching Slowpoke fish in the spot where it reels in a shellder and evolves into Slowbro. Also seeing Bulbasaur jump for joy when it gets an apple.
Cave: Knocking Pikachu out of Zubat's clutches only for the little guy to ride down to the Articuno egg on a pair of balloons. Then using the Poke Flute have Jynx awaken Articuno only for Pikachu to be riding on its back towards the end. Also the Jigglypuff concert.
Valley: Using the Pester Ball to knock down all the Geodudes only for Graveler to fall down and make Sandslash come out of the ground.
Pikachu riding Articuno?! ... never heard that one
@@lautaro.O.L. So basically what happens is that near the pool the Weepinbell roams around there's a Pikachu that gets nabbed by a Zubat. After you descending to the Articuno egg you have to try to hit the Zubat with a pester ball or apple and it'll drop Pikachu and the little guy will start riding down a pair of balloons. Very cute too i might add.
But anyway he'll land near the two Jynx that surround the egg and if you play the Poke Flute near the egg Pikachu will help hatch the egg and then he'll climb up on Articuno's back and then when you get to the last room with the Jigglypuff concert you can see Pikachu riding off into the background on top of Articuno.
@@e1iteyoshi998 I mean to say that I've never played the game (nor have the console) and I've seen various LPs of the game and no one did that you mention. Learn something new every day.
@@lautaro.O.L. It's definitely the hardest special photo to get - trying to hit Zubat is really tough! Rescuing all three Jigglypuff for the best Jigglypuff on Stage is also fairly tough.
@@Showsni Never knew Muk was in the game. The game just keeps surpising me.
The Switch is perfect for a new version of this game, the Gyros are so good. I know they have pokemon go, but a new Pokemon Snap, any generation, would be fun as hell

your wish has been granted. New Pokemon Snap, for Nintendo Switch. And no, that ain't a joke
@@gab_v250 I thought you were joking, I'm so incredibly excited
@@SkywardSpork Even tho this comment is old it comes out April 30th this year! I hope your able to get it and have fun!
When people argue with me and say games don't have "atmospheres" I tend to bring up Pokemon Snap. It has such an absolutely perfect FEEL and recaptures (no pun intended) the Pokemon fever most of us had as kids. It's really beautiful.
A Pokémon Snap remake or reboot would be perfect for the Switch: Gyro Aiming, the whole aspect of being able to both bring the Switch with you to show the pics to your friends as well as dock it to show them on the big screen, and with a specialized Labo Snap Kit you could even use the Switch like a real (if super-sized) camera, with "working" lenses and stuff. Hell, Nintendo could even (ab)use that hypothetical Labo Kit to teach kids how cameras work!
Labo is dead........the last shovel of earth on his grave was the switch lite (seriously: it flopped and I think Nintendo has no future plans with it.......the new hot thing is Nintendo + Lego)
"It's the world's first on-rails Metroidvania."
"And 1 Sequel that desperately needs to happen"
IT COMES
Yeah I thought the uplaod date was today. But it was a year ago :D. I was like damn Girard you finished this shit in like 1 day? how?
I'm a simple man. I see Pokémon Snap, I click.
SAME!
You never get laid I can tell😂
same i love pokemon so i click!
When I was a kid, the Dugtrio mountain seemed kind of creepy. Even though it wasn't real, both as part of a game and a land formation, there's something very unsettling about giant faces staring right at you.
Right!? Especially when there are confirmed titan sized Pokémon.
The first time little 5-year-old me finally got to that Mew level, I cried. The music was perfect and at the time Mew was my favorite Pokemon.
If they were ever to do a sequel to this game, I'd recommend having the stages be set an actual regions from previous installments. Routes, mountains, tunnels, undersea areas, The possibilities are Limitless!
Let the Pokemon company know. There making number 2 now.
Those ideas sound dope 👍🏿✊🏿😃
Who else is watching this right after the new pokémon snap announcement!!
We all are finally getting our wish :)

Same! So excited!!
Eww, like beggar.
Actually, from what I hear, Afrika is a pretty good photography simulator.
This right here. It may not have had as much of a hook, but the idea of taking photos for a nature magazine was a good fit!
Yup. It's actually pretty good for what it was. It's a shame the load times were HORRENDOUS, it really killed my enjoyment of it.
Pretty expensive though. And has some mad Microtransactions.
@@rin_okami Did you ever notice the save file sizes? They START at around 300MB and I caught them approaching 700MB at one point. For as pretty as that game was, they REALLY needed to find better ways to optimise the save/load system. :P
@@EskChan19 It's hard to find, but not expensive. And AFAIK didn't have microtransactions. You sure we're thinking of the same game?
Doduo confirmed as my first ever jumpscare.
Man, having the camera pan up at the end to a Ho-Oh flying distantly in the sky above was a beautiful reminder of how great a second installment could be.
This is some of my favorite editing in any video on this channel. The hitscoped Psyduck and Dancing Snorlax made my day
As much as I'd love a sequel, I know that there'd be an uproar because someone's favourite Pokemon isn't in the game.

Back in the day the appeal to this was to see “pokemon in 3d” I think a remake would be pretty badass though. There really isn’t many games like this.

You were able to give me the feeling of excitement I had as a kid just watching this! So glad i get to play pokemon snap 2 tomorrow. It is absolutely amazing that pokemon snap is a homerun title. It is a game about taking pictures of pokemon, simplified.

Man, this is a throwback. When i was about 7 or 8 years old, me and an old neighbor friend both got copies of this and would always go over to each others houses with them and show each other what pictures we took, and swap strategies on how to get those rare pokemon to come out of hiding. This was such a great game.
Pokemon Snap 2 Nintendo
Make it happen.
While it's by no means a photography game, in Breath of the Wild trying to complete the Hyrule Compendium yourself with the camera really adds another dimension to exploration I enjoy.
About a month after this video Nintendo finally announced a Pokémon Snap sequel is in the works.
Did I lose roughly $60 from my pocket?
if they ever remake this, i just hope it isn’t strictly like pokemon go... pokemon layered over real life that you can point through your switch/phone camera. i want to be IN the world of pokemon as much as I always wished they were real when i was a kid.
hot bread Pokemon Snap VR!
It's part of my childhood: I collected cards, played the Pokémon Masters board game, watched the show, saw the first movie (and Detective Pikachu) and played the games-including this one. Looking back at this, I have only ONE THING to say: life well spent! Gotta Catch 'em All indeed.
I loved to play this game when I was a kid. That music...oh that music...it takes me right back to 2000, its so relaxing. I hope the sequel comes one day. The Switch's gyroscope would make it easier to take the pictures.
This aged incredibly well.
Forgot sequel. I would take a remake at this point.

I love this channel - I'm subscribed and I like every video from it that I watch (but I follow many channels and don't like getting overwhelmed with alerts). I love this series - I've enjoyed almost every game in the Pokemon franchise for more than 20 years now. I love this game - it's maybe the most immersive fun I've ever had playing a Pokemon game, for all the reasons this video lists and more.
So, UA-cam, PLEASE tell me why it took almost three weeks for this video to be recommended to me when I'm on UA-cam EVERY DAY, multiple times a day, and I always check all of the recommended videos on the home page. WHY does this fantastic video published by a channel with 1.2 MILLION subscribers only have 160k views? Shame on you, UA-cam. You're doing it wrong.
To think this is only a month off the Snap sequel announcement.
I played this game way too much as a kid, and I don't really think that's a bad thing.
This is my go-to one-day game to complete. If I'm sick at home, you'll find me wrapped in a blanket on the couch, a bowl of soup by my side and Pokemon Snap in the N64.
When I was a kid, in love with Pokémon, this was my most wanted game ever. I found the graphics to be astounding, the atmosphere, everything. I searched the web to try to emulate it, but never could at the time. Well, I never got the chance to play it, didn’t own N64 and neither of my friends who did got Pokémon Snap. This video made me feel like a kid again. I think its time to honour my young self. Thanks a lot Jirard!

I’d think a good snap 2 would be something like ‘Pokemon Tour’ where you tour the regions and take photos in a beautiful world.
Close enough!
I was a sensitive kid who hated “hurting” game characters when they died, so Pokemon Snap was the perfect low stakes game for me as a kid. It was so fun! I enjoyed the nostalgic journey you took me on.
Funny I was the opposite kind of kid, so my thought was "this is awesome. they need to make a version with guns! at LEAST tranq darts..."
