Have always loved the 550 and am so happy the Broadblue group is doing this channel! WOuld love to be able to purchase a 550 one day... A design WAY ahead of its time!!
I’ve always felt that sailing on a monohull is like putting 5 people in a 2 person pup-tent, on a hill. A cat just seems more like a small flat (apartment) on the water. And as I want to liveaboard, cats make more sense.
The Rapier 550 is still a production catamaran available to view and purchase. Like all Broadblue models, it is made to order and therefore able to have a high degree of customisation to suit the purchaser’s sailing agenda.

This is a fantastic design that seems advanced even in comparison to the latest generation of catamarans. Are they still being produced?
Mark Jarvis is currently at Dusseldorf Boat Show which runs to Jan 29. We'll have Mark reply when he's back in the UK. Thank you for your question.
