This is the best 590A1 disassembly/reassembly video on UA-cam, period. I felt overwhelmed until I watched this. I’ve just disassembled, completely cleaned and reassembled my new shotgun with zero issues or confusion thanks to you. The detailed walk-through with that camera angle makes all the difference. You’re the man.
Some people explain this stuff in ways that makes sense to them because they already know how, and small details get glossed over. Then there are people like you who thoroughly explain details and focus in with camera shots. This helped me get my 590 A1 running again after watching a number of videos that didn't help with the part I was stuck at. Thanks.
Wow I can't believe this was 5 years ago. I just got one myself a week ago in 2024. Great thing about the shotguns is it looks like everything remained the same except the sights. Looks like they also added a feature on the new ones so you can carry additional shells for faster reloads. Regardless, thank you for this video as it's my first shotgun being around pistols most of my life I already stripped it down and feel comfortable now.
Best disassembly/assembly video, and i really appreciate how well you explained everything and used really great camera angles to show what you were talking about! Great job!!
Man, this video was a LIFE SAVER!!! Even 4 years later. I finally shot my new Vang Comp 590 A1. Took it apart and cleaned it today. This is my first ever shotgun. Because of this video, I was able to get it done. However, I had a couple small “issues” to work through. I had to loosen my Magpul stock because I couldn’t get the trigger group out. And, for whatever reason, it took me FOREVER to get it back in when I was done. No idea why. It would NOT go back into place. Anyways, got it figured out. Thanks again Womfat. I appreciate you brother… 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Well done!!!! I wish I would have watched video first. It would have saved me a lot of frustration. I had a terrible time reassembling my shotgun. Thank you.
I want to thank you for making this video, I've used it more than once to repair and maintain my 590, probably the best video i have seen on how to disassemble and reassemble this shotgun.
Thanks for the great video. My Shockwave needed a thorough cleaning, and I swapped out the factory forend for a TL-Racker, using your video. Thanks again.👍
Great video! Just got my first mossberg pump and was immediately intimidated with the taken but following this video made this takedown the easiest I can remember. Thanks!
Excellent video, thank you! Is it common for the action bars to slide out of the notch of the slider that sits on top of the bolt? I'm not sure what or how it happened but it was out and jammed the forend.
Did you have any issues removing the trigger assembly with the Magpul, stock? My Magpul stock presses on the end of the trigger assembly so hard that I can’t even remove the pin without loosening the stock.
Did you dremel you stock? My Magpul SGA stock is covering the trigger a little bit, and the trigger group would not come out as easily, unless I loose the stock a little bit.
How does your trigger group come out so easily with your SGA Stock????? Mine won't come out unless I loosen the stock bolt and it appears to be a common issue.
Hey man I really appreciate how well you explained everything and used really great camera angles to show what you were talking about. I have a 590a1 with the SGA stock installed. When I have attempted to reinstall my trigger assembly, the stock did not line up correctly with the trigger assembly. It almost seems like when I initially installed the stock, I torqued down the stock screw too far. I did back it off and it did reinstall smoother. Did this ever happen to you?
TheMarmot24 hey glad I could help. This is a very common problem with the SGA stocks actually. The little notch is sometimes too tight and it is impossible to remove or install the trigger assembly. I actually took a round file and shaved it down ever so slightly to accommodate.
@@Womfat Thank you for your reply! Glad I'm not the only one who encountered this problem. I will probably end up doing what you did, I just wanted to touch base before I went for something like that.
You can gently pry it out, try doing it from both sides simultaneously to not bend it. It really doesn't matter too much, the gun will function the same without it. It' sjust more annoying to take it apart because the spring will come out as soon as the cap is off.
The mag tube usually installed with a strong threadlocker. Heat it up with a heatgun or hairdryer and turn the tube counter-clockwise as usual. You'll have to probably use quite a bit of force to get it started, try not to bend or crush the tube though. Usually these don't need to be removed so there's no point in showing it
Finn Macky best way to remove it is by heating up threaded area, don’t need much heat. Turn left traditionally. If it’s too tight, get an old car fan belt and a breaker wrench and thread the belt around the tube then through the wrench, and tighten the belt and turn with wrench, very much like unscrewing the oil filter off a car. Might need to secure receiver with a vice.
Best video i have seen for assembly/dissasembly, thank you sir.
You don’t find videos that actually go that extra step, with just lil more infor… closer video… it makes a difference. Excellent video sir!

Great camera work and explanation of the reassembly of the bold slider. Thanks!!
Well done. Nice and slow, makes it easy to follow and understand. Thanks for taking your time!
i watched three other videos that left out at least one key point. thanks so much for providing such complete, detailed, clear instructions
Glad i could help
Best instructions and clear video. Did not rush through it and explained every step. Well done. Thanks you.
OK, this one is the best. I tried another one and was in bad shape, found this one and was able to complete the process and learned alot!
Excellent step by step presentation. Thank you.
went to change my safety and the piece fell into the receiver. thank you for the breakdown. gotta love youtube
EXCELLENT VIDEO! The best I've seen on the subject. Good job!
Very clear and well explained. Thanks
Great video, the explanation was spot on. It is critical where you position each part when assembling the Mossberg.
Thank You Very Much
On a Mossberg 590A1 you got the best video, precise, concise, very helpfull!!
Thank you so much! Have a 590M I could not get back together until watching this. You explain it way better than the other videos!!
Thanks for the great video. My Shockwave needed a thorough cleaning, and I swapped out the factory forend for a TL-Racker, using your video. Thanks again.👍

Love the video… Best one I’ve seen on UA-cam 💯💯💯
Perfect tutorial. Why is there a thumbs down? Someone must be jealous!😂 Stay safe Brother. 🇺🇸
Thank you I was trying to figure out why the magazine tube was not unscrewing like my 500 does. I did not know they used thread locker on it.
Thank you, sir. Very clear and informative. Can't wait to try this at home (And probably refer back for tips to reassemble. Ha ha).
Excellent video, great detail it helped a lot!
Excellent video, thank you! Is it common for the action bars to slide out of the notch of the slider that sits on top of the bolt? I'm not sure what or how it happened but it was out and jammed the forend.
Great content!.. just curious does your trigger assembly fits flush with the receiver? Mine is not flush more from the right side
Thank you for this video, it's quite thorough and helpful
God bless you for this video!
This was just perfect 10/10. Thank you :)
You saved me!! Thank you for this !
Thank you , this was a big help!!
Thanks! Great video! Very detailed and exactly what I needed!
Did you have any issues removing the trigger assembly with the Magpul, stock? My Magpul stock presses on the end of the trigger assembly so hard that I can’t even remove the pin without loosening the stock.
Excellent job....
I feel like I can completely clean my gun nos.
Thank you.
Glad to help
Helped me a lot! Appreciate it!
I ruined the end of the trigger assembly that you put in first .....them little two corners....will this affect my trigger ?
Great video sir.
very good detail my, new 590a1 sure is stiff. Thanks
I just bought a 590….could I replace the barrel on it with a 590-A1 heavy barrel?
Can the 590A1 interchange with all of the other Mossberg barrels.? (Because the 590A1 barrel is thicker.)
Like can a long 28" barrel fit on a 590A1.?
Good info, fellow Matt!
Hello. Is the receiver on your Mossberg steel or aluminum?
good and thorough video! thanks
Is this the 20inch barrel version? Or 18.5? Great video.
20" and thank you
Great video! Very helpful!
Did you dremel you stock? My Magpul SGA stock is covering the trigger a little bit, and the trigger group would not come out as easily, unless I loose the stock a little bit.
Yes, that's a common issue with the magpul stock. I had to file it a bit with a rounded file, only had to take a little material off.
Any tips on what to do if there's a play in the racker? When it's unloaded it moves about 2 millimeter before the actual action starts to move.
Best video ..on point no bullshit
Thanks for the video brother
very well done
How does your trigger group come out so easily with your SGA Stock?????
Mine won't come out unless I loosen the stock bolt and it appears to be a common issue.
Well-done.
Good instructions. Thank you.
Nice shotgun. In guns we trust.

@@TheMarmot24 Just make sure you go slow and keep testing the fit, dont take too much material off at once
Nice video homie thanks what’s is the shell holder you use ?
Excellent
Excellent!!!!
Is the Heavy barrel the major difference from 590 ?
Heavy barrel and comes with the rails to attach accessories.
Also metal trigger guard and safety instead of plastic
Matthew Keyes not heavy barrel. Thicker barrel. Not too heavier than the 590 retro.
Great .... thank you!
How do you remove the magazine spring retainer? Don't wanna break anything.
You can gently pry it out, try doing it from both sides simultaneously to not bend it. It really doesn't matter too much, the gun will function the same without it. It' sjust more annoying to take it apart because the spring will come out as soon as the cap is off.
@@Womfat thank you sir!
What’s the name of that barrel?
Man I have a 20in mossberg mariner and I can only fit 7 shells in the tube?!?!
I noticed that none of these videos even discuss removing the magazine tube.Mine won't unscrew. Is there a trick?
The mag tube usually installed with a strong threadlocker. Heat it up with a heatgun or hairdryer and turn the tube counter-clockwise as usual. You'll have to probably use quite a bit of force to get it started, try not to bend or crush the tube though. Usually these don't need to be removed so there's no point in showing it
From what I've read. You should be able to swap the 590a1 tube with the 500 tube. This would allow the use of of the 500 barrels.
Finn Macky best way to remove it is by heating up threaded area, don’t need much heat. Turn left traditionally. Sangin? Nice vid
U should make sure the safety is on while doing the disassembly
great video and watch! #sangininstruments
Seems like a lot of disassembly required to remove the bolt from the gun.
What gloves do you wear for diassembling?
They're just disposable mechanics gloves you can find at any hardware store
💯
