DJI RC2 wireless video output to external battery powered monitor

TLDR: you dont need the HDMI splitter at all. Just power up every other component first and power up your RC2 last and you are good to go without the extra splitter in the chain. I also found a better wireless transmitter/receiver which allows for even less "stuff" to get in the way and complicate things.
If there is some other way of doing this wirelessly and under $400 please let me know. I wish they would allow us to install other apps onto the RC2 so I could just "cast" the screen to a tablet but so far that is not the case.

what about a wired connection with a USB-C adapter so power can come-in ?
I can do USB-C to USB-C with this particular monitor but thats not what I intended to do. The wireless aspect makes the whole thing way easier for you and the viewer.
The power aspect isnt something I would lean on, though. You really dont have a lot of battery life in the RC-2 and borrowing power from the RC-2's battery to run a 15 inch monitor is gonna make that battery run out quickly. Ive tried putting a batter pack in a "man in the middle" position but its really wonky. Sometimes it works, sometimes the RC-2 ends up in a boot-looping state.

Yep if you have a powerful phone, you can probably do a bunch of cool stuff. The RC2 has just barely enough CPU to run the DJI application and thats it. Ive asked them if they could open up the Android home screen so we could add other apps and they admitted that they cant because the processor couldnt handle it.

I dont own one so I cant say, unfortunately.

It would work on anything that has an HDMI input.
On your coupler what type are you using? On Amazon there is like three types.

But I wanted to point out that I have a much better method for this workflow in another video (my pinned comment has a link to the video). I would suggest that workflow and equipment because its way less equipment and easier to manage overall.
Ya I am not sure why I posted on this video haha but I do have your set up in your other video I am just trying to figure out which type of coupler you are using because your link takes me to like 3 different types to choose from. Your video is a big help with this kinda stuff. Also I’m referring to the elbow piece not the hdmi adapter
@@DanielC-nf6mv No worries! The U-turn piece you want is going to have the following orientation:
You know how an HDMI plug has a flat side and a curved side? The SMALLER HDMI part should have its curved side closer to / facing the larger HDMI port. I hope that makes sense. When checking my link, the amazon page opens up to the exact one Im talking about. You want the Micro HDMI version of that orientation. Just look at the ports on the ASUS monitor and check out their spec sheet if youre not sure.

I dont know about iPad. I only know about what I put in this video. Sorry, brother. I think Ive seen a video where a guy used a capture card going into the iPad.

Not for any of the equipment I used in either of my videos. Both of them are "plug and play"

Depends on what hardware you use. Get stuff on Amazon, test it out, return the stuff that doesnt work and keep the stuff that does work. Thats what I did.
I heard RC2 is buggy doing this.
The secret is to connect your cables before powering on the RC2. Ive played with several other configs since this video and all of them work so long as you plug everything in first, then power on the remote monitor, THEN power on the RC2.
