The Mac ride was one of the best things I ever bought for my bike, don't underestimate how much fun taking it easy on trails with your little ripper is until you've tried it

I have a clip of my daughter exclaiming "This is amazing!" while we rode from our camp site to another part of the camp ground. It's simply about sharing the time with them that they love : )

The Mac Ride was the absolute best investment for my kiddo, for all the reasons you explained and also, since they are a foot from your head, just the best conversations and impromptu songs to be had. Great explainer, cheers!

The day my daughter outgrew our Mac-Ride was a sad day...but she's got her own MTB now 😊

If you use the Shotgun seat, i would consider using a big front mudguard. I was always most worried of my little one getting his foot between the tire and the fork.
However, riding trails with my son on my ebike is the best. Few days ago he told me he does not want to learn to ride his own bike, because he only wants to ride with me on my ebike anyways.

Loved this video. I had all 4 of my wee ones on the hills with me. Now they're all confident on the trails..... Unfortunately the road is a scary place and the two youngest have far less confidence sharing with vehicles. ❤

I have a Kids Ride Shotgun. I recommend a handlebar pad of some kind to protect against a bashed face in steps/bumps. I was able to make a ProTaper Moto pad work.

I see you are carrying a balance bike on your back. Please cover your method of this in the balance bike video! I'm enjoying the tips on this and can't wait for summer to get out with my little "biological investment"!

I have a small Dakine backpack that's designed for skiing/snowboarding and has board/helmet straps that would do that perfectly.

I’ve used my Shotgun seat for all 3 kids! It is fantastic- I started each at just under 1.5 years old. I made sure my kids had full face helmets though.

Would you recommend the thule next mini tho? For normal rides to the mountain?, nothing with tight curves and so on? My daughther is 8 months and i cant wait to take her

@@Polgnar Been looking at the Thule Nexxt Mini but from my research it requires some modification to fit properly. I'm on the fence whether to go for it or wait till my kid is old enough for a Mac ride or Shotgun.

@@ZacharyKurienI've been looking at the Thule as an option as well. But wonder what adjustments would be needed. Have you found an explainer anywhere that would could link me to please?

The Thule is suitable for up to 15 kg only and is not ideal for trail riding. When my child outgrew the Thule at age 3, I bought the Shotgun Pro. It's amazing! We ride blue and even red trails, with snack breaks in between.

If you have more than 1 kid cinsider getting them comfortable with homeless first. Also art. I had my kid draw up this sign " will work for bike parts."

My god i skipped a little bit ahead to see whats up and i saw a "baby" hitting the floor. Almost got a heart attack. I just installed a thule mini on my MTB after many (many) modifications. But man how i love riding with my daughter. Best thing i have done in a while 😍

Gotta be honest, I think those top tube child seats are a terrible idea. Even when you're being careful, things happen. That's the nature of mountain biking.

Not rly. What parent would shoot down a hard trail 😂😂😂 I drive with my Kid with a seat like that almost every Day and its much safer than one in the back... and no one is complaining about this kind 😅 drive safe and not regless and all ist good

@@syXification you never screwed up and fell for no particular reason on an easy section of trail? Everyone does. In fact, most of the times I've fallen it was something stupid. Then you're a great big falling on a little tiny person who had no choice in the matter.

@@jeffrogers2180 Do you have kids? They smash their heads on everything allllllll day!!! Everything has risk. Balancing safety and fun is the work of living well.

      @jeffrogers2180 10 місяців тому

@@alecfotsch3533 yeah I have kids and I managed to raise them without serious injury. Landing my 200 lb body on one of my kids when they were small doesn't sound like fun, it sounds like a recipe for lifelong guilt. This is survival of the fittest, and I'm too smart to put my kids in harms way just because I feel the need to make them enjoy the same things as me.

@@jeffrogers2180Then never do anything. Never go outside and stay as safe as possible. The kid is probably safer on the bike than you are since kids bones are way more resistant than adult bones.
