I've been doing colloidal silver and d-manose, it works really well. I used it for myself as well so I looked up if it was safe for them. I also use a iodine rinse for myself and it helps so much but I don't know if that would work on them but if it did they would probably be fairly unhappy with me. 😬

I love that some veternarians share their expertise and education to help people and the welfare of their pet. It just shouldnt be that if you cant afford $1000. A visit to save your pet, then the pets health is sacrificed. Like other professions, there are experts that help and educate because their first and most concern is an animals well being, this is why they should have gone to be a vet right? There is plenty of money in this field so they wont lose out on the mighty dollar by educating like this. Thank you veternarians that put an animals life first and make educational videos like this. We love and appreciate you.

My 15 year old Persian male cat had been quite the roller-coaster with his bladder issues. First he was unable to pee, all the vet did was giving me heavy bills to the point I had to plan to put him down in 4 days if he wont do better.
I started using a Birch lamb tincture from buds from nadeje, 3-5 drops mixed in his wet food, that saved him from the final needle. Occasionally I also mixed some apple cider vinegar, halve tea spoon into his wet food to help with any possible crystals.
Then his bladder inflammation got pretty bad after nearly an year, including heavy bleeding, it seemed like this was his old age cycle now. Vet treatment had only temporally results. I started adding fish oil to his wet food and around 2 tea spoons of Pickwick Urological Tea with Cranberries, which after a week finally helped him to heal again and pee normally.

The first thing we did for our male kitty when he had a blockage was to buy a cat water fountain that has the swan neck. Prior to this they would only drink from a dripping faucet so this was a huge help in getting more water into all four kitties.

Fountains can actually cause UTIs because it's almost impossible to clean all the bacteria out of them. That's what I was told by the president of a cat food company because when they found that the cats on their food were having urinary problems, most of them used fountains. The best thing is to change the water bowl every day or every other day and make sure it's washed well with soap and water.

    • @martiriggs2003
      @martiriggs2003 9 місяців тому +5

@@Savannah-ed4rv my cats drink more from flowing water so they actually drink less from a bowl. I clean the fountain with vinegar water and use tiny brushes to get into the nooks and crannies. Prescription cat food makes him throw up so that’s not even an option for us. I also add water to his canned food. The first vet had me use only distilled water and the fountain, but that was creating urinary issues in the older male so I started researching and distilled water isn’t always the best choice. Went back to spring water filtered in a Brita in the fountain. Switched veterinarian and things went much better.

So basically I need to treat my boy for an anxiety disorder. Any Christians in the comment section, my problem child could do with your prayers. He's currently at the vet being treated for a UTI and is very sick. He gave us all a massive scare today when he crashed and stopped breathing by himself, but it's now thankfully off the ventilator. It's going to be a rough 24 hours, but we're getting optimistic he's going to pull though then. He's expected to be at the vet for two to three days at least while they treat him.

Tbh I didn't try all this long enough to know and Dr. Andrew's supplement was something I did for a few months but I felt I was spending too much money. Now I'm just giving him solely wet food, "Hound and Gatos" from Chewy (1/2 a can twice a day), probiotics in the morning, along with CBD oil in the morning and evening to help ease stress and pain he might have. I also give him a few drops of "Quiet moments calming drops l-tryptophan" in the morning. I'm also going to start adding B12, because I recently read it helps with FIC. Also the Feliaway diffuser I poured into a diffuser storage bottle with reeds sticks so it lasts longer.
I heard that soley wet food might be enough to really improve cats with FIC, but I wanted to help him a bit more with adding these other things. Plus also providing an environment he likes and plush baby blankets he soothes himself on help, haha. I hope this helps you're a kitty! 🙏

My 16 month old male was blocked a week ago & possibly longer(he insists on being outside). He was completely lethargic. I called around to several local vets & was told he needed surgery for thousands of dollars! I decided to treat him at home with catlax & a urinary tract support supplement. Along with forcing water with chamomile tea & a dropper of diluted ACV daily. He’s now peeing & pooping normally and seems back to normal.

Hi Andrew, I had a boy Kitty that got FUS . He had to have his urinary tract flushed out boy cats urinary tract are small as a tip of a pin and they can get clogged up real easy. I had to put him on special food that had low I want to say acid. Once I put them on the special food he never got it again. It's very dangerous because the bladder can fill up and explode if your boy cat is struggling to pee he needs to be seen ASAP. Thank you for this video to let everyone know how important it is to keep an eye on how much your kitty is peeing. When he got older I noticed he was drinking a lot of water and peeing more than usual, he ended up with sugar diabetes and the vet could not regulate his insulin because he wouldn't eat. He was an amazing cats and he will be missed forever. He was 11 years old. Hope you're enjoying your summer 🥰

I used to work for a vet and so many male cats came in to be seen because they couldn't pee. The treatment was uncomfortable for the cat, expensive for the cat parents, and didn't always work. As much as I love boy cats, I will only have female cats since that problem is virtually unseen.

It probably won't help if there is a severe blockage but I highly recommend having it on hand, or giving it several days a week as a preventative. Also Homeopet has a product called UTI I believe, and it's also been helpful for my cat. If your cat is really straining to urinate please get them to an emergency room right away! The first time it happened to my cat I waited overnight and he was seriously in trouble the next morning and I had to rush him to a clinic. The second time I was much more aware and it was not such a bad situation but it's still extremely serious and don't just assume it's an infection.

I can’t believe how much this video helped me. I have two cats that have recurring urinary problems, and I’m pretty certain that FIC is what they suffer from. I have used just plain ol’ cranberry powder made for dogs and cats, and also Homeopet UTI. Both have worked very well, and I have my male cat on the cranberry daily. My outdoor semi-feral has been having issues for a few days, and she won’t eat food with the cranberry in it. The homeopathic drops are not helping this time, and she is refusing most wet food. She will only eat a tiny bit of sardines, and I’ve been dropping the drops onto that twice a day, but perhaps she is not getting enough. This video provides a lot of alternatives, so I just ordered some. Both cats are under a lot of stress, so hopefully some of these products-chamomile tea, green tea, slippery elm, and Feliway for my indoor cats-will help. I can’t thank you enough for this information, Dr. Jones. I wish you still had the Ultimate Feline Health Formula.

She caught the URI at the vet's office about 10 years ago and it never really went away. My cats were so much healthier before I brought them to the vets for routine care. I figured if I ever want to adopt a cat, I need a good vet record and that's when I started going annually. I've had nothing but problems since then. Even had a cat die from a vet who messed up my senior cat's prescription! I had a cat get a tumor from vaccine injection. In MA you are required to get rabies vax to get vet care and prescriptions.

@@Andromeda_M31 I asked about FIV because I had a "stray" probably abandoned cat that had unrelenting URI. Many rounds of antibiotics. Finally tested for FIV. He was positive so the URI was probably an opportunistic infection caused by his weakened immune system. Treatment for FIV is antiviral supplements and anti-inflammatory supplements. So a FIV treatment should help a URI too.

I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times.
78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High -- 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways.
81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times.
88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders.
    92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come;
and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified.
99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations."
102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." 2 Esdras 7:75

I know there is a lot of advice on giving cats wet food when they are having issues but what about litter types? Cats tend to get bits of litter and it's residue on both their fur and around the house so I know they have to be ingesting it. When I switched to a lightweight litter it was so dusty that there was dusty paw prints all over. My cats also got very sick so I switched back as soon as I figured it out, it didn't take long. I had to clean not only the litter boxes but all the floors, blankets, an wherever I could think of. They've had this problem before just not as bad so we switched to a non clumping litter in a attempt to keep it from getting stuck around as bad. It has helped but it's not completely fixed the issue. I was reading that it can be caused by bacterial infection and treating it that way seems to clear it up pretty quickly. I've been using both colloidal silver and d-manose which clears it up to where it seems to be gone but will come back after enough time so I haven't found the source of the problem. I myself have struggled with respiratory, skin, and bladder issues. The bladder issues are gone with both d-manose and cutting out sugar to just what is in milk naturally and the occasional small treat on festivities. I highly suspect the old carpet and other contaminates in our environment to be the cause of our ailments but am still in the process of eliminating each contaminate. So regular cleaning of the floors and laundry seems to keep us healthy but also very busy. As well as keeping the windows shut unfortunately, my cats and I really enjoy fresh air so that realization was quite sad. I suspect mold in the brush in our area or fragrance from one or more neighbors but I'm sure their is other possible sources that I'm unaware of.

I took my 2yearold sphynx cat to the vet because she started peeing outside of the litter box. They told me she has bladder inflammation and they found red blood cells and struvite crystals. They said the solution is a 75dlls Hill's cat food.....
I asked for other alternatives since I read the ingredients and they're full of shit, they couldn't give me an answer. I asked about cbd and they just told me that it was ok but they don't have a dosage so I would have to figure it out.
I spend almost 400dlls for the vet and I just learnt way more with a 9min UA-cam video.

Similarities Between Wild and Domestic Cats
Differences aside, genome sequencing reveals that tigers and housecats share around 95 percent of the same DNA. Tigers are closely related to other big cats, so it goes without saying that there are plenty of ways in which the housecat is similar to its wild cousins.
So this begs the question why do commercial cat foods all most all have grain in them.

Dr., what do you think of cooking some chicken (with or without the skin), boiling it like you would for a soup, nothing added, just water to cover. Then letting the water cool, freezing it into ice cubes, and adding a few chicken broth cubes to their bowls a few times a week, to get them to drink more water? I did this when we were in a heat wave and I had to take a trip. I worried my cats wouldn't drink enough water in my absence, so I had the cat-sitter give them their "chicken popsicles". They loved them.

Your feline videos are AWESOME, so very helpful and I have been subscribed to your videos for a while now. I trust you more than 1 of the 2 vets I take 1 of my cats to, lol... Wish I lived in your area to have you treat my fur babies!
I'm in desperate need of detailed treatment options (other than surgery) for my 11 year old female cat with bladder stones. Do you by any chance have a video on UA-cam that specifically pertains to cats with bladder Stones other than your "BLADDER STONES IN DOGS AND CATS: TOP 3 EFFECTIVE REMEDIES" video? I've spent every available waking moment learning all that I can about bladder stones in cats beginning 11 days ago (9/13/23) after watching my 11 year old female cat pass a blood clot (about the size of my pinky fingertip) when urinating and it was filled with a cluster of little bladder stones, as well as several single, white, and slightly bigger, but still round bladder stones throughout her urine spot and in the area surrounding the blood clot on a pet mat . This was approximately 1 hour after leaving her Vet appt and getting her home. We previously had 3 urine tests done that I collected the samples for from home using no absorb kit provided by the vet office and a new plastic litter pan that I keep for purposes like this.. The first 2 samples I took to the Vet office showed bacteria but no certainty on having a UTI and all of my cat's results from blood work done twice was good other than slightly high calcium. However, she started urinating blood 9/12 the day before her Vet appt and not just traces of blood, but more like red urine, a lot of blood according to her Vet. And I was able to get a few samples of the urine & blood as well, all refrigerated after collecting it with syringes and taken to the Vet office less than 12 hours later at the time of her scheduled appt and this time no bacteria was found and no UTI. My Vet's office has tried 3x during different appts to collect a sterile urine sample from her bladder for additional testing, but had no success in doing so. They did X-rays of my cat during her appt on 9/13/23 and I was advised by her vet that "she either has a huge bladder stone or a cluster of many bladder stones" which she showed me on the X-ray. I'm hoping for other treatment options than surgery because I was quoted roughly $3,000 to $4,000 to remove them surgically along with additional blood work needed before any surgery, and this is in addition to nearly $1,200 just since 8/7/23 on several appts, tests, x-rays, antibiotics, etc and I simply can't afford to get her the surgery now. She's receiving 50mg Gabapentin up to 3x a day for pain and since her vet appt 9/13 and the bladder stones she passed shortly after getting her home from that appt she has passed many more bladder stones in her urine, as well as another 4 clots filled with them again but now they're a darker brownish color and some bigger. The only reason I see them is because since this began on 9/12 she'll only urinate on pet mats or in the newer plastic litter pan I got but lined with pet mats, not litter. She still uses the litter robot or stainless steel litter pan we have when she has a BM, but all urinating is usually on pet mats or the spare plastic litter pan lined with pet mats. So I've been able to shake the soiled mats into the plastic litter pan and collect many of the bladder stones and clots containing bladder stones and store them in plastic containers with lids, and I took the 1st set she passed along with the clot of clustered stones from 9/13 to the Vet office the next day to send to a lab to determine what kind they are, but they honestly look identical to Struvite stones and Urate stones I was able to view in pics online at upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/04/Urate_stones.JPG and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bladder_stone_%28animal%29#/media/File:Struvite_stones.JPG

I had to board both of my cats for two weeks before I moved to where I live now. That was in early July. Being stuck in a cage for two weeks was very stressful for both cats but more so for my male cat. A few weeks ago he was diagnosed with a UTI and has been on a special diet from Hill's Science. He was getting better but today he doesn't feel well. I think he is constipated now. I will call regular vet tomorrow morning & hopefully get him seen asap. The emergency vet is full today so I can't get him in to be seen there. Overall, his stress level has gone down pretty much since we moved here but I think all of this still has something to do with being boarded for two weeks. Any suggestions?

Pls help! My animals only get vaccinated when they have to be spayed or neutered, or vet will not do it. My kitten had to get neutered and had to get the rabies & stemper before they would do the surgery. It's been a few day since surgery and he is barely eating and playing some. He isn't acting fully like himself. What can I do to try and get this out of his little system?

Aww I wish I could help you. I do not want to ever vaccinate my pets either. I believe it's poison and causing more problems than it's fixing

I have a sphynx cat. And I feed him earthborn wet food and their dry food sometimes. Well. We recently moved and he's been urinating in the house so I went to the vet and got a urine analysis. And they said that his pee is very alkaline. I want to make it more acidic. Do you have any natural ideas of how to do that? They want to put me on the hills diet for him. Is that a good option or is there a better way to more natural way?
