GM IMO is the best at making "beautiful trucks" yes and I also owned an AT4 and may or may not buy another. Toyota is the best at building reliable trucks but not the best in aesthetics.
Trucks were priced $10,000 - $15,000 over sticker in my area and state. To me, If it’s not a muscle car or then it’s just not worth the ridiculous, out of control price. I don’t see it getting any better either, nobody should have to pay $70,000- $90,000 for a pick-up truck. It’s insane
I agree with you for the most part but literally everything right now is priced way higher than what we’re used to seeing because of high demand and supply chain issues across the globe. But if you can’t afford a premium truck like this, the older ones are still good in my opinion. I have a 2015 GMC 3500 and I don’t feel like I need a new truck any time soon.
Yup I spoke to someone whose an insider and knows how much money it takes to produce one of these trucks not this model in particular but man you would be surprised at how much people get ripped off it’s crazy.
@@G6.1 Yep, 20% off sticker became VERY standard for years before COVID. It's well known the margin on pick-ups is the best in their line-ups and why they could discount them so much and still make plenty of money. In addition to no discounts currently, the new design has a massive price increase along with it.
Have to agree that interior did just hop over RAM’s interior and slightly edge them out. Very very impressed with all the enhancements they have made to this model year.
My favorite truck and I’m an current owner of a 2018 Toyota Tundra Crew Max Limited. The horsepower number haven’t changed for the 5.3 and 6.2. 355hp and 383 ft lbs for the 5.3 and 420hp and 460ft lbs for the 6.2! Your videos are great and my go too for when I need to know about towing numbers and RVs
I don't like sunroofs either. In the heat here in TX I feel like they get the car hotter since it's just a layer of glass. Plus I'd rather have the head room.
I get what your saying about the heat but the head room makes no sense. I have a full sun roof in my truck and yes it can get hot but if I close the fabric headliner then you can notice it being cooler instantly. Once I open the the fabric headliner I'd say you gain at least 2 inches of headroom. With that being said no one driving should have to worry about 2" of head room unless your 7'5" plus tall. If your that tall then modifications to the seat are neccessary
Led lighting is a must nowadays especially, with these trucks costing close to a mortgage payment. One of the first upgrades I did to my 2018 Tundra was replace all the interior and most of the exterior with premium leds. The best money I spent on my truck so far.
Great introduction to the new GMC. I'm past the beating the truck on the trails. I like a 4 wheel drive I don't need the lift kit or extras. I went through all that in my younger years. Looking forward to the numbers when they give them to you. No sun roofs for me.
My big thing on trucks is cup holders. My 2019 HD has 11 cup holders and a flip up center council. I'm a big fan of the AT4s, I'm just holding out for the new motor and praying they put more cup holders in. When you go on over 15+ hour road trips you want to put your drinks and snacks somewhere.
Any truck should have a 110 outlet in the front and rear, it can't cost that much to do. I don't know why they give you some other stuff that's fluff and not stuff that is actually useful.
This is an awesome-looking truck...I agree, It needs more USB ports in the back and other power supply connections...I have a Titan and want to upgrade to a GMC 2500 Denali or AT4X, I hope this exact interior carries over to the 2500, unless this one has a higher towing capacity that would be best. Good idea for the back of the seat, I also have an aftermarket drop down for my little to use while driving long distances hauling our camper. Thanks for the intro to the new interior.
Man, my mom had like a 2002 Chrysler town and country that had built in flip down trays on the back of the seats. We could eat while on the road and set a portable DVD player on it or draw or whatever kids do.
Another very good review of the GMC truck I really like these trucks and think that they are the best pickups on the market right now but I'm biased because I am a GM guy I am glad to see they have stepped up their game!!!
@@gerralld5211 apples to oranges. Tacomas are cool for what they are, but they’re slow, the interiors suck, and the beds are too small to do anything with
Does everyone just casually forget the Colorado ZR2? It’s skinny enough to actually go on trails, and has a more off road appropriate wheel base. Not to mention front and rear locking differentials. And a weight that makes any winching situation a lot more smooth.
As far as lighting goes, I would think that something that costs $75k like this truck would have LEDs or HIDs standard. However, halogens work better if you live in area that gets a lot of snow from what I’ve heard.
That's a great idea! A Molly panel or some kind of storage that isn't that pocket that always collect garbage or some trash in it. That's why I watch your videos! I admit I'm not interested in pulling a traditional RV down the road. But a converted cargo trailer or maybe a tear drop. And while I'm camping, do some 4x4 exploration. This would definitely be a truck I'd love to be able to do both. Comfortably taking my cargo trailer across the country, & explore some less traveled dessert roads. Keep up the great work! Happy New Years!
I would rather have the Carbon Pro bed. If I'm gonna pay the money for the AT4X, I want the interior screens to say AT4X too. I like those floor mats. I'd rather have the panoramic sunroof. I like ur idea of having upgradable accessories for the backs of the seats.
I dropped my 112k hummer preorder to get the Denali ultimate instead. And while it may not have skid plates or 35s on it from GMC, it will have them the day after I pick up my truck in the spring. Towing our overland camper will be much more enjoyable whilst getting a full back massage 👍
I would dump the Halogen lights all together. Led lights is the way to go, especially when there is a lot of Wildlife around. Makes the night time driving a lot safer.
Those panoramic sunroofs are nice to a point. But when you can't keep the shade closed to pop the roof... that sucks. I went back to GMC after trying Ford's pano roof. I use the back slider window cracked open with the roof popped up but keep the shade closed. you get great air flow in the cabin without having the sun beating on my bald head. lol
I’d love to have this thing as my daily and go on the occasional down state trips with the family. Probably won’t fit in my dual-door townhouse garage though 😂
The difference in rear bumpers is due to the fact the the Denali has dual exhaust outlets in it, whereas the AT4X does not. Also, from all of the reports that I have seen so far, there is no change in the 6.2L V8's power or torque figures. Hopefully soon!
The difference in the rear bumper on the Denali Ultimate has to do with Supercruise Sensors. Yes it has the exhaust, but the shape of the step was changed because of the Supercruise.
Well i like the review as always. Now my opinion…the at4 is much more appealing than the shiny, blingy, chrome luxury truck that is the denali. I saw the interior of the denali and for some reason the name “oldsmobile” came straight to mind. 🤷♂️ maybe im just exaggerating. The at4 is looking good. So far the one thing i do not like in ANY truck is a center console shift lever. The shift lever belongs on the column…its a truck not a compact teeny bopper suv. Otherwise i guess its a little nicer than the current interior although I wouldn’t lose my mind over it. Exterior, at4 is looking good.
Love the fact it has a gear shifter & not knobs which I hate with a passion! Also the navi screen being well integrated instead just stuck on like a toaster! Way to step it up GM! But the real kicker is the new Chevrolet EV truck ohh my what a truck! Expensive but nice 👍💯
I like your Idea about the seat back, however for safety sake things on the backs of seat are very dangerous for rear seat occupants in the event of an accident.
An enjoyable and informative first look. It certainly holds the torch for truck luxury. The new Tundra while not quite at this level even in Platinum or 1794 trim is lacking in some areas. Most notably by not offering some innovative tailgate for easier access to the bed and no under seat rear storage in models with the iForce Max hybrid engine. I wish the steering wheel was a bit more modern looking, thicker and maybe with sportier 10 and 2 grips. Also, as nice and premium as the all-black cab is I hope they offer it in lighter colors too?
What happened to the Panorama roof I thought that General Motors was going to that I thought they said it was optional you know it would really look nice on the Denali!

The dash design/layout is the same in both AT4 trims and both Denali. Pro, SLE and SLT all share a different design. Assume it's because all AT4's and Denali have a full console where it's an option on everything else. The AT4/Denali design doesn't have separation in it.
9:15 yeah I’m that person. I won’t buy a new vehicle if it doesn’t have good, modern lighting. Especially headlights. I’ve gone for higher trim levels just to get HID or LED headlights in the past. Some people may think you can just get the cheaper halogen headlights, throw some $30 Amazon LED bulbs in them and it’s just as good. But if you actually know anything about lighting, you know that’s not the case.
