  • Author's Comment (Translated):
I'm Hobonichi P. It looks like various information runs rampant and I've been influenced by the cover of a weekly. Fears in people's mind are the nutrient source of the occult and cults. I can imagine each of them is trying not to miss this opportunity. (This song is my 270th work.)
    Original by ほぼ日P (Hobonichi P - lit. Almost-Daily P)
    From www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm13918809
    Memo:
    JSDF = Japan Self-Defense Forces
TEPCO = Tokyo Electric Power Company
AERA = a weekly. The picture in the video from the cover of the March 28 edition.
    -----
Title in Romaji: Hōshanō ga kuru
    Translated Lyrics:
    *Radiation is coming
It comes on the wind to Tokyo as well
It becomes rain and pours on us
Radiation is coming to your town
Oh no! It's a crisis! Gotta hurry up and run away to Kansai
The government and TEPCO are still hidding the worst situation
In Chernobyl the area within 300km is unable to reside
Kawashima the super affiliate also says
Mrs. Dewi's blog says there's a 8 meter hole in it
And JSDF and TEPCO are out of the area within 50km
Takashi Hirose tells about meltdown and the risk of internal exposure
And says food and water in the whole of Japan is going to be polluted
They get a profit from people's fear
Hurray for a rise in the takings
They just hope to be a topic
Lots of them bob up from nowhere one after another
Panic and mass hysteria-This is a huge business opportunity
Stir stir stir stir stir people up!
    (Repeat *)
(They say an acquaintance's acquaintance saw it
It's a report by a certain reliable source
    Please spread it asap)
They talk ignorance people into buying a fear too far
Saying "Be careful of stockpiling," they tempt people to get in line
    Panic and mass hysteria
They are expert in manipulation of the masses
Stir stir stir stir stir people up!
    (Repeat *)
(A report by a friend of the JSDF...
    They say...
    From the American Embassy's staff...
    Please spread it asap)
    Rumors are coming
Wild rumors and lies come down to me
They come in by Twitter or e-mail
    Under a mask of kindness
    The occult is coming
It comes to evacuation sites to propagate cults
Outrageous science books are coming specious
    To take advantage of fear
    Don't be fooled

Great message in this song. The media leaves out a lot of information regarding issues like nuclear power. It's difficult not to be caught up in the panic.

this song is really meaningfull, it shows really well whats going on and what everyone know that's going on, but what people try to either ignore, or wont believe. it's horrible what's happened there, at japan, and is sitll happening... and for the radioation, it'll be happening for millions of years...

relevant then and today during this pandemic. i would like to know more about this radiation issue, particularly as an American citizen under the age of 35.

i just realized the context of this song.
    japan... what the fuck?
a further edit: i sense an undercurrent of pro-government view of the nuclear reactor disaster in this song, even though at the same time it condemns the government of hiding the truth... _with a single fucking line!_ ("The government and TEPCO are still hidding the worst situation")
i'm still trying to like this song, i really do, but that mention of the occult and "Outrageous science books" (are the as outrageous as the government-approved history textbooks? wwww) at the end made me dislike the song (and japan as a whole) _so so much_
