I truly loved this man. I would have taken great privilege in thanking him in person, not only for myself - but; on behalf of humanity - he quite simply saved my life.
We have truly lost a brilliant Mind and a World Scholar on Education, Creativity and Divergent Thinking! We will miss you Sir Ken Robinson but will nonetheless treasure your academic acumen and all the brilliant speeches you have delivered, and the books you have written. Thank you Sir. You are already missed.
All adulation of this man aside it is interesting that in all the talks I’ve heard him give there has never been the slightest mention of “curiosity”. Lots on creativity and imagination but nothing on curiosity. How curious because both creativity and imagination would be sorry qualities indeed without curiosity! And a new normal can only happen when we get really curious about what happened to “normal”.
Such an inspirational guy. I'm sure he encouraged many people to discover their hidden talents, which in turn enriched their lives. Happiness is all about your state of mind and often that is at its most relaxed when we're enjoying the simplest of things in life. It's all about discovering those things we enjoy that's the key to happiness and they're generally not the things we think they are. Losing Ken was so sad and such a great loss but thankfully we still have his inspirational, passionate speeches that no doubt will go on to help so many more people see the potential within themselves. God bless you Ken and may you rest in peace brother.
Always brilliant observations - he will be sorely missed as a voice of reason. I do not envy all the younger people in this world who still have to make their way through it the best they can. Hopefully, if nothing else, this pandemic will have taught us - like Sir Ken said - we the people have the power - if only everyone understood that and could band together to effect the changes needed - overriding the bureaucracy of government entities.
This video has 26,365 views at this time. It should at least be 263 million views, and climb from there. I've listened to everything this man has posted (I believe anyway)... and he made a statement that I use to make back in college (>40 years ago)... and I state it in general, the world will be o.k. But mankind may not be. Even the loss of beautiful creatures due to our own neglect will be renewed with new creatures that have not been here before. We want to be stewards, but we are not. We are smart enough (I hope), but we don't do what's right. So yes, Sir Robinson, we need to leave our children learn, on their own, with support - and schools need to change, to allow innovation and not following rote principles... and maybe we can pull out of this nose dive. We need to do this quickly with all of the 'industrialized countries" moving as fast as they can, and then move on from there. Meanwhile, I will miss you. I'm sure there are millions upon millions that will, but I found your voice so comforting, and your humor enlightening, and your call to focus attention the underlying problems so inspiring... I hope we can find someone to fill your shoes, and soon. No one will be like you, but that's o.k. - we still need to evolve.
The greatest teacher I never had! This man had an impact on thousands of people from all walks of life and each corner of the globe. I wish the government appointed Sir Robinson as the countries head of educational affairs, at least the future generations to come would be a product of his bountiful conception in an integral fundamental aspect of a human being: EDUCATION. One thing for sure is I would've been the first one to that class, had Sir Ken Robinson been my teacher during a crucial phase of my developing years (like every other human being). Your legacy will reverberate until the end of times!
We need at least 2 billion people just like Sir Ken Robinson was, and maybe just maybe we will have a chance to make this world a more Hospitable , United and loving..
I so gutted that this amazing man has left us. He made me think and laugh. I often do one, but not the other - laugh. What a great loss to education world-wide.
A special, special man and mentor for me personally as a career educator. His legacy lives on. I’m amazed there is not more attention to this gem he left for us as one of his final gifts to humanity. Pay it forward. I have not heard a better or more concise synopsis of the most important existential issues we face that MUST be confronted with more conviction if our children and future generations are to thrive. Let alone survive. One love good people. RIP, dear Sir Ken. You are not forgotten.
RIP Sir. Ken Robinson, your legacy will transcend generations and you will always live in the heart of educators ready to take your teachings and philosophy to the next level. Blessings!!!
Still inspirational. To play our part in developing a flourishing and sustainable culture in everything we do. If only our failing government thought creativity in learning and life had value.
I thank you Sir Ken for you have been a true teacher, inspiring us with your ideas and wit. Do smile on us and send us more inspiration from wherever you are.
I love this guy. all of his speeches are inspirational! hopefully one day our education systems can become like agricultural development rather than standardized one size fit all development.
Please add links to Boundless and to Hello Genius in the description! Or in a pinned comment. It would make it a lot easier to follow up Sir Ken's recommendations while steering us away from copycat sites and link rot.
RIP Sir Ken millions of followers but no implementation by policy makers who want to retain status quo. Education remains designed for standardisation whereas Sir Ken always sought the need to encourage diversity and to further the inherent creativity within children.
"Great teachers, great principles, great school systems understand that you don't make a successful education system based on driving people through pointless systems of tests and output data driven hurdles." I ask is it in the political/economic elite's best interest to have a system that operates otherwise?
If they only follow the money, yes. The economy would boom and people would be making much more money and be much more passionate about their given fields in just 5-10 years after the change. So...if they could just look at the long term, even if they only look at the monetary gain, it would still be in their best interest. But...they never look forward. They just want money now, regardless of what it costs. Greed is certainly the great evil of the world.
I AGREE. PERIOD.👋🖖👌🤙👍
Such a marvellous human being never dies. Ken Robinson will always be with us. Thank you!

Sir Ken Robinson. Thank you Sir! Forever in my heart, forever an influence. The fruit of your labor is ever-growing.
First, a word of thanks for Sir Ken's life. Second, his analysis of the problem, opportunity and how to work for the new is surely spot on.
